  1. Yep. There is one and it is working fine now in 2.5.5
  2. Ah ok. Well, I didn't know there were aircraft in DCS that have these kind of restrictions. I thought you could basically make everything take off from ramp on a ship. Now I think about it, I am only playing with choppers so that's probably why. :) Would be awkward to have a P51 spawning on the landing pad of a destroyer, lol.
  3. Yes, that works ONLY if you thought about saving everything else you did before srewing up.
  4. OMG! You are so totally right! UNDO! This would be the ultimate technical refinement for the ME lol!!! Anyone accidentally hit CTRL+V twice on a huge copied group of units? Then wasting 15 minutes at removing them one by one? Made me think of the multi selection of units. You want to copy paste a group of 30 units and you clicked very carefully one unit at a time while holding the CTRL key, making really sure that you are clicking EXACTLY on the icon center...Then, at the 28th unit selected, your mouse got a bit off the next icon and.....ALL units got deselected. Always makes me want to throw myself under a bus! Multi selection of units through dragging a rectangle with the mouse.... dream.
  5. Yes. That's what I was thinking. But in that case, "green" and "red" are alert states, not ROE. But that sound like it could work.
  6. I know this sounds silly but this new small check box on top of the unit's list that allow to show all hidden unit in just one click is making my life soooo much easier! I can't even think of the tens of hours wasted at double clicking back and forth on each of the hundreds of hidden units on the list to find the one I wanted to modify. Small change, big improvement. Thanks ED.
  7. Can't you trigger a specific ROE "weapons free" when B is entering a moving trigger zone attached to unit A? Just a wild guess. Never tried.
  8. Hi Capitaine_Flaime (love your nickname by the way, lol), does ME prevent you from setting up your aircraft as "take off from ramp" on a aircraft carrier?
  9. I assume you know CombatFlite.com that support all this but you just want it to be built in the sim, right?
  10. Just do a "continuous" trigger with Radio transmission instead of a "once". This way it will work for everyone.
  11. 1991. :) Not sure it was a hit though.
  12. Hi Smil! For analog axis I am using a Leobodnar board indeed. I used arduino for interfacing the NS430.
  13. Well, we didn't ask permission for modifying the script so we cannot really distribute it to the public. It's for members only for the moment.
  14. Good question. Some headaches are to be exepcted at the beginning of you vr experience, then it goes away with time. You need to start with short sessions like 30 minutes then increase the exposure gradually. I am using lennses in my vr headset with blue light filter too.
  15. At blacksharkden we have a script guru who added this in a csar script. With Hawkeye new version, depending on the type of chopper crashed, life raft with one pilot shows up (for ka50) or the two pilots version shows up for any other choppers. Pretty cool.
  16. Can t really fly choppers on public servers for all the reasons mentioned before although I wouldn t call the mission designer an idiot or psyco; he is just a simple fixed wing pilot who have no idea about rw ops and adds choppers in his mission as an afterthough. Missions flown in MP have to be designed by chopper pilots for chopper pilots. It s possible to integrate a fw dimension in some cases but more as support for choppers operations.
  17. So maybe it would be nice to have a decimal option for the fuel quantity. Looks like you can t set less than 1000kg of fuel. That's a lot for some choppers. Thanks Grimes for clearing up this aspect of the game I didn t know.
  18. So here is an interesting one. Haven't seen it reported. Have two helicopters (doesn't matter the type) loaded with 100% fuel. One helicopter A is positioned take off from ramp (hot or cold) on the Tarawa 1 with warehouse settings for liquids set to unlimited (or 100%, both are working). Spawning on the Tarawa 1 shows chopper A with fuel as set. So far so good. One helicopter B is positioned take off from ramp (hot or cold) on the Tarawa 2 with warehouse settings for liquids set to 0. Spawning on the Tarawa 2 shows chopper B with no fuel in tanks (despite having been set to 100% fuel in ME). Made a simple mission for you guys to play with. I suspect: - this is not limited to ship but FARPS and Airport might eventually be affected. - this is not limited to choppers but all aircraft will spawn with zero fuel if warehouse is set to 0 liquids, despite whatever fuel settings for the aircraft in the ME. This is a problem for me because I am designing fuel limited missions and sometimes I don't want pilots to be able to refuel before take off. Thanks for looking at this. Edit: Temporary workaround is to leave just 1 ton of Jet fuel available on the Tarawa and chopper will spawn with the correct fuel load. But it is not completely satisfactory. 1 ton of Jet fuel is 1700 liters (you can refuel 1,5 gazelles) and partially refuel a K-50. Ship Fuel bug.miz
  19. Thanks BigNewy, Activation was a simple "group activate" for ground units in a convoy. But I don't want to create a mess if I am the only one seeing increased lag on activation.
  20. DCS Bios is basically what will interface DCS with your Arduino (basically a .c library to include in the Arduino programme). I had to spend a few hours reading documentation and playing with Arduino programming software, but after a day, I got it working alright. I didn't find it easy at first, but I am no software or IT guy at all.
  21. I think we were all used to the small lag appearing in MP when units were activated. It was a good hint that "something" was about to happen. But recently, this lag increased from a few split of a second to almost 5 seconds or more. That is really freaking out everyone. We experiences that on 2 different dedicated servers. Activating ground units. (1 convoy of no more than 6 to 8 units at a time). Haven't seen much people with this problem on the forum though.
  22. Finally someone who is not complaining about the out of focus instrument panel through NVG (because it's what happens IRL). :-)
  23. Helicopter sim is very niche hence not very profitable market. You can tell by the number and the rate of fixed Wings ED is creating every year vs the 4 choppers we have since 2009. Nonetheless, DCS is the best PC sim hands down on the market for flying realistic choppers. The downside of having those great FM is machines you can hardly fly even after several hours of practice, and even when you do, flying between 90 kt and 150 kt at usually no more than 200 ft makes you extremely vulnerable to enemy light fire so it takes another set of skills to actually survive the battlefield, hence another long hours of training again and again. 90% of simmers would rather jump in a jet and drop laser guided bombs while on autopilot in a safety of the 35000 ft they have between them and the enemy. Immediate thrill and minimum work!
  24. For helicopters, controls are everything. There is so much muscle memory involved in flying these aircraft with all 4 controls (cyclic, collective, rudder, throttle) intricately correlated (you change one, all the others must be adjusted simultaneously). Having a real collective is helping because the longer course of the stick (compared to a standard throttle) is helping to be much smoother and precise on the amount of angle you want to put on the blades. This is especially important at take off and when you are flying close to the max performance of the aircraft (max weight, high altitude or high temperature) when overtorque and engine failure are just around the corner (Huey is the worst).
