  1. Realsimulator are not manufacturing force feedback joystick. They are using force sensors, but there is no feedback. I think that's what you meant. Just plug it in and see if it is working. Should be recognized as a simple HID device. If not, you probably need to switch the board of your TM base into the R3L one.
  2. Greekbull, where did you buy this damper? What are the references? Thanks.
  3. Saw that Sensoryx posted that yesterday (Sept 17th) Last time I saw those guys, there were looking for funding. Is it finally happening after all?
  4. Yes and no :) First you need to load the MOOSE script library by doing Once/Time more (1)/Do Script File with the name of your moose library file. Then you can do a Once / Time more (2)/Do script and copy paste the lines for the chopper escort into the field of the mission editor. (with the proper unit names of course in the arguments field).
  5. The ship (all ships) disappearance appears to come, in MP, from a late activation. There is already a thread here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=243573
  6. Are you using shaders mods?
  7. You can use the CMWS script for missile launch warnings. It's even telling you where the missile is coming from (1 oclock, 8 oclock,...). Sure it would be better if it was integrated in game, but that's still something.
  8. Clouds are synced in DCS?
  9. I think that s the same reason we got ships disappearing too. They were also late activated.
  10. Like ApoNOOB said. I can't think of any better solution for CGI in DCS than Lotatc, and I don't know any other sim with a better solution. I know that the Lotatc dev is closely working for years with people working in AWACS aircraft. The latest lotatc implementation added airports so you can also do ground traffic management and tower. The integration in DCS is just great so not sure @Tippis what you would like to see more. It is only lacking a better integration of SRS but I know the dev is working on it.
  11. Well, as you said, a miz file is already a renamed zip file. Rename miz to zip, extract files, edit them, re inject those files into the zip file then rename it back to miz.
  12. Is it not a more general problem with ships disappearing in MP? This bug existed some years ago and was solved but it reappeared a few patches ago. Got occurrences of ship disappearance too with the Tarawa in MP, also when getting close.
  13. Good job Sidy. I remember back in 2009 when BS came out, the manual was so confusing for the startup procedure that I had to make my own checklists. Over the last 10 years, there have been a lot of checklists available for this chopper though, but I guess they are resting now at the bottom of this forum. Pretty sure I have them all on one hard drive if anyone interested.
  14. @cotoi. I have been flying with this for a year now. Quite easy to implement if you are somewhat familiar with dcs bios. Note that I also figured out how to directly export the NS430 display through DCS .lua config files since I made this video last year. So no need for ultramon. It works now just out of the box when I launch dcs. How to export ns430 display here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=223851
  15. Ah OK. Good info. Thanks
  16. So no choppers in DCS (and generally no choppers irl) can be fast enough to really dodge AAA. Once you see them firing at you, the only tactic is to change your trajectory (vertical and horizontal) every 10 seconds so they cannot properly anticipate your position. A 23 mm round is generally not good news for a chopper. Even the Ka50 which is a bit more armored than the others. Most likely you will loose your shkval or your hud, and the party's over because you cannot shoot anymore except in manual mode for gun and rockets with a good guesstimate. But this means you have at some point fly a straight line to the AAA and most likely you gonna get killed. Finding targets in a city is extremely hard with the Skhval unless the said target is in a clear area like a park or a large roundabout. If SAMs and Air Threats (enemy fighters or gunship helicopters) are not a factor in your mission, your best option is to hover high (at least 800 meters) and out of range from the AAA (4 km) so you can see above most of the obstructions. Briefing is critical and often overlooked in those SP missions. You should be able to select different "drop points" aka BP (battle positions) that offer a quick cover in case of an attack, preferably out of the enemy weapon range and in range of your own weapon. If you can't see the target from one BP, navigate to the next one with a different point of view. Avoid at all cost the usual "target fascination" where you are getting closer and closer to find the target. Finally, and I know it doesn't work well in SP, but for this kind of mission, you should always operate with a wingman. So having a friend flying with you in MP that you can coordinate with, exchange datalinks, warns of incoming fires. Finally, choppers missions should be specifically designed by choppers pilots. Avoid public servers that usually build missions for fix wings, then add rotaries as an afterthought.
  17. You should learn the Mission Editor and create your own mission with the loadouts you want to get at startup. For your second problem, well I don't know. I haven't seen it myself.
  18. http://www.combatflite.com/ And it's free.
  19. Looks like you have a Shkval on steroids, and I don't know how you do that because: - there is no way to lock a target with it as soon as it's getting dark, or even when the sun is getting a bit low over the horizon. - how do you lock a target behind trees? You have to see the target first I would assume. - the tracking behind buildings comes from the coasting algorithm that is activated when you are selecting "moving target" on your targeting computer. So it is not actual tracking and it is realistic. You'll notice that if the coasting is lasting a bit too long, the reticle is just going crazy. Now, I am not saying that everything is working alright with the Shkval . The crazy Shkval bug is still there for example, and it has been for years.
  20. Considering the amount of F-xxx (pick any number) that came out in a very short period, I think choppers went on the back burner for ED. Look at how fast they got the F-16 out from announcement to actual in game video (few months?). Now look at what we got so far for the Mi-24P since the announcement (2 years? More?). Just a few 3D untextured renderings of the cockpit. A pretty long stretch before we even got some in game videos. I think at best you can expect a revamped Ka-50 for Q1 2020. Makes me real sad but I understand the need for a company to make money and aim at the most lucrative markets. There is simply no way that choppers pilots can compete with fixed wingers when it comes to market share for this already niche market. FW are fast, can fly high and are super easy to handle. Kids got the instant thrill and the rewarding feeling is taking a few days until you can say that you are mastering the aircraft instead of frustrating weeks to simply land your chopper without loosing any parts.
  21. Well, that's a pretty good idea. First time I read that and doesn't sound too hard to implement.
  22. https://enterprise.vive.com/us/product/vive-pro-eye/ This eye tracking feature is really promising, but I suppose it needs to be supported by the software that will then draw a precise picture where the user is looking at, and a low resolution one for his peripheral vision? This could potentially make a huge difference for the game performances.
  23. Changing graphic engine entirely, that's a huge task that's gonna take a looong time and effort. DCS 3.0 I guess.
  24. Most amazing and comfortable commercial aircraft I ever flown. So sad.
