Any experience with Samsung Odyssey Plus & DCS yet?
ChuckJäger replied to fargo007's topic in Virtual Reality
Hey there, I live in Hong Kong, where abouts in china are you?? How did you order it? -
How this got turned in to a negative thread there baffles me. Wags, I appreciate the time you put in to keeping the community abreast of things. There could ALWAYS be more updates and content, but, I reckon they come when there is information to disseminate. I've said it before on another thread - I'll say it again, while I wait for features to be implemented I will continue to work on my Case I and III approach and landings and unguided munitions. It is plenty to keep me occupied. I sincerely hope some of the feedback you guys have gotten in recent months doesnt scare you guys away from the Early access model. It is nice to get it early and slowly learn more systems and weapons as they are added.

If you're using the rift, search oculus mirror. I doubt this has much to do with ED honestly.

Having them on all the time is not realistic. They only turn the LA lights on during recovery operations. That said, the phosphorus lights on the deck do light things up a bit, especially around the island. It'd be nice to see that implemented in the same fashion as Razbaam did on the Tarawa.

This would be an ideal seemingly quick and dirty fix......

I am sure they are aware of it- I imagine they have prioritized it, but they've got a lot of things on their plate too. This doesn't break the sim where other bugs may. I think we all need to remain patient.

I remember getting hit with water on the deck during rough seas.... It isn't uncommon for spray especially to splash on deck. I remember standing on spot 3 (on the waist, first helo spot) and getting wet from the spray. I do think the wake does need to be a bit longer. It would help spot the ship a bit better, especially in low vis, grey days when the ship's paint does it's job and camouflages things a bit.

Would it be possible to have the helo fly a Starboard Delta Pattern, as they would do for Plane Guard? They stop alongside of the ship sometimes, but most of the time the Helo is orbiting to the Starboard side of the ship, I'll try to find it in the NATOPS manual but in the meantime here is another resource that explains it... http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/virtual_disk_library/index.cgi/4240529/FID378/pdfdocs/jel/new_pubs/jp3_04_1.pdf (I know its a big ask.. but just curious)

With the ICLS implemented on the carrier, I wonder how difficult it'd be to create a PAR approach MOD as an option for case III recoveries...

Former Navy ATC, I'd love to throw my $.02 in voice acting and help if needed!

T H I S x's 100 I love the F/A-18. Reminds me how much I miss being in the Navy. I bought it knowing it wasn't complete for the sole purpose of watching it grow in to an amazing module. In the meantime, I'll work on my groove time, that 3 wire and Air to Air refueling. I can appreciate the countless hours the team has dedicated to this thing... I image it hasn't been easy, I would like them to know that it's appreciated and the fruits of their hard work is enjoyed!

Change of home port... they allow sailors to bring their car on board so they don't have to ship them...
-
I copied and pasted this but it doesn't work - just a grey screen.. any ideas?
-
WOW - Tim and I worked on a project together a long time ago and I lost touch with him... someone please tell him to check his PMs!!
-
IIRC You could see them pretty well on the flight deck. Also - if I'm not mistaken they flash when the hornet is using auto land.

This is a great documentary!

I have had this intermittent issue with aircraft not taking off or even taxing from their parking position on the carrier. They will spawn and just sit there sometimes. Could it be my STBD Guard Helicopter? If so, is there a way (other than removing that helo) to force the AI to move? Thanks, I'm very new to mission development - so forgive me if I am missing something here.
-
Has there been any update on the KC135BDA fix? I know this must be pretty low on the priority list for ED, understandably so - but it'd be nice to have an idea as to what their thoughts are on the subject..
-
That's it! Ok, thanks! I stand corrected.

[MOD please delete]

Not sure if this is a bug or a wish list item but the AOA lights on the nose wheel don't seem to be working. Would be great to have for all of the virtual LSO's out there. Forgive me if this has already been addressed.... I haven't seen it.

Operation Desert Rat - F/A-18C DCS Campaign
ChuckJäger replied to JayBird's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Jaybird, I have to say this mission was incredible. It was immersive, realistic and fun. My very first night time tanker connection and my first night time trap happened during this mission. I love it. It was cool watching the whole world happen around me as I flew the mission. What would I change? hmmmmmmm... It'd be nice to have a KC-130 on a track somewhere... I honestly cannot think of anything else. Reminds me of the good ole days when I was in the Navy. Keep them coming.
