Or maybe just lack of changelogs ? I see some AV-9B files are from 4th Septemper (EHSD / Conontro bindings) and 3rd October 2019 (CAS page).
-
the 10ft is the spacing between ripple release, not HOB. In real life I guess it´s set on the clusterbombs themselves and not via any MFD or other controls/software in the jet.
-
Release day for the F-16 has been set for the 3rd. October -so I hope it´s today and not next year

With WYPT deselected, there is no need to dip the nose.
-
I guess ATC is used on longer legs to relieve the pilot and definitly not when attacking targets.
-
Cool find. I set all waypoints to 0ft AGL and now GBU's hit everytime, even at 30.000 ft with the TGP.
-
You might only be right if a waypoint is set as target point. In almost all cases You will use the TGP to set the target point, ie. use the TGP to find a target on the ground and then with te TGP as SOI, set the target point, which then is at ground level. This is also indicated by the target point diamond on the HUD, rightly placed on the designated target. What happens right now, is that the bombs are released to late to be able to pick up the laser and steer towards it. The weird thing is that some people seems not to be affected by at as others.
-
That is the exact procedure I use and always did. With the A-10 You can set "Autolase" it will automaticly sart lasing 8 sec before bomb impact (TTI). But the GBU's are still released too late to track the laser. Solution is to use either CCIP or start to dive 10-30° 20-30 sec before autorelease and then level out after bom has been dropped.
-
... exactly what it seems to happen. I´(almost) sure that the issue is caused by a too late release, thus making the bomb overshoot "the Basket" and therefore not able to see the laser. What helps is to either release with CCIP (Diving towards the target) or to dive 20-30 secs before Autorelease. This will then make the bomb release inside the the Basket". Maybe the it´s simply down to wrong balistic tables for the GBU's or wrongly calculated Autorelease point.
-
Flying level at 23.000 ft / 360 kts, I dive the nose to 10° 20 sec from Autorelease. Once the bomb has been released I return to level flight. At higher altitudes the dive angle and/or time to Autorelease must be higher. Hope to see a fix for this asap.

+1 After serveral tries I only got one impact. My procedure is exactly the same as Yours Eagle7907

When I create a Mark point, select it, and then press "Data", makes the UFC indicate "M 2", I then press ODU POS, enter LAT, press POS and enter LON. This though creates a new waypoint instead of editing the Mark point. Also (as reported elsewhere) I cannot change the elevation. Maybe Mark points aren´t meant to be edited !

I don´t think that the various engine limits has been added to the damage simulation yet.

From Wiki (I know :music_whistling:): "Fittings for MW 50 first appeared on the BMW 801D in 1942, but it never went into production for this engine because the cylinder heads developed micro-cracks when MW 50 was used." But... "The 801D also included the ability to spray gasoline into the supercharger[2] (the Erhöhte Notleistung [increased Emergency Performance] system), in place of the MW 50. While this was not as effective, it did increase boost without the complexity of the additional tanking and plumbing" And... "While GM-1 saw little use in the second half of the war, the Focke-Wulf Ta 152H, which had been developed as a dedicated high-altitude interceptor, also received a GM-1 system to provide it with superior performance at high altitude. The Ta 152H was one of the few designs to support both GM-1 and MW 50." I know this is no proof of anything, but still..

Command binding missing. Increase/Decrease RPM
fjacobsen replied to xavnl's topic in Bugs and Problems
You can assign Governor automatic On/Off (btw - the function is mixed around), but You cannot assign incr/decr to controllers. Default keyboard assignment for that is PgUp/PgDn -
As far as I know, the FW-190 was more of an energy fighter than a turn fighter, whereas the Spitfire was a turn fighter. So better use the FW-190 as a boom and zoom fighter. It dives better that most other WW2 aircraft (apart from the P-47) so if You have the altitude and get attacked from the rear - roll and dive. It was also only better at lower altitudes, cause it lost quite some performance at higher altitude, that why the FW-190D9 was developed.

Strange in these times where all people and companies constantly post on various social medias, blogs and forums about their doings, that real and informative communication is at this low level. But hey..... where I live we have the first real summerday with 23°C, clear skies and birdsong.

Weird that such information is spread via other sources that their official support forum.

Try to land without flaps extended. Thats what I ahve seen they do in real life on all Youtube videos. I find it easier during roll out after landing.

Cylinder Head Temperature Gage Not Working?
fjacobsen replied to Balzarog's topic in Bugs and Problems
The gauge that stops at 15 is the fuel gauge. It indicates fuel amount in 10xKg - so 15 is 150 Kg fuel. Note that the tanks can take more than 150 kg's (~190 kg), so the needle won's start to drop before appr. 20% fuel has been used. Above the fuel gauge is the CHT gauge, which ends at 350 - and it´s working - i.e indicates OAT when starting from cold and dark and normally settles around 200°C depending on power setting and cowl flap opening. -
The kinetic energy is not just mass and rate of fire, but also the velocity of the bullets. Still... I´m no expert on these matters, but sometimes less is more. Also the guns are quite close together, so gun convergence has little influence. Next question is also - are they HE, AP or Incendiary i.e do they simply punch holes, do they explode on impact/after impact and/or also causing fire ?
-
Just a thought, since I´m no expert on this... How about rate of fire ? A one second burst from both calibers could equal the same "mass" due to the higher rate of fire of the small caliber and the hits would equal a shotgun burst due to the spread. The same could be said with guns vs cannons.. Why didn´t the US fighters favour 20mm guns over their .50, like the Germans and British did if the logic is that a larger caliber equals higher damage ?

Mixture and and other engine management aspects...
fjacobsen replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: I-16
At 26.000 m (14.000 ft) mixture should matter. If kept at full rich, engine performance should drop climbing to that altitude.
