  1. Thanks, I'm gonna have to make me a glove :) This is one of the best things I've seen since discovering TrackIR !
  2. I'm getting really excited about this and I think i want to try this project. I'm wondering if I should go with a whole glove or try just a finger. Is the glove comfortable while flying? Talon that glove you have looks cool.. what brand is it and where can I find it? :) Also, how high did you have to place your TrackIR reciever to avoid a conflict with the Wii remote? Are you wearing your cap pointed up now? Just curious
  3. I was also charged twice for the english version! I purchased the Russian version and a few days later the English version was released and I purchased it also. A day or so later, I noticed that I was charged two times. I sent an email to the activation address and was told by Mr. Alexander Sobol, that a refund was issued. That was 12/24/08. Four days later.........still no refund! What's the problem? I've never seen anything like this in my years of online purchases. Hey I love this sim....but I'm not happy paying for it 3 times! Please fix the problem with your online purchasing system. Thank you, M.Rahim ifrpilot.rahim@gmail.com
  4. Vortex Ring State! hahaha.... Being mostly a fixed wing guy (Real life C172 skyhawk pilot), I've only lightly played with a few rotor sims, but never got deep enough into them (until now). So I never really heard of VRS until the first time it bit me while flying a chopper in X-Plane 9! Actually I was flying a V-22 Osprey and then a chopper and I kept dropping out of the sky and crashing. I was saying to myself WTF? So I started reading about this condition of VRS and was amazed that this was programmed into X-Plane. I had never ran into this in any other sim including FSX. So by the time I started flying this BEAUTY (blackshark) I was prepared and I'm glad that you guys have programmed what I consider the best flight dynamics I've ever flown...... That is DCS Blackshark & X-plane. My two favorite sims. I can't wait for every other addition to the DCS family. I am your loyal customer for LIFE!
  5. "One question: Shouldn't the collective checked to low position be before starting the engines on the before startup checklist section." I was thinking the same thing.........because it happened to me today :) Thanks for your work and for sharing this awesome checklist! I used it today and it really helps me get the feel for firing this baby up and doing it in the correct manner.
  6. One thing I forgot to mention. I turned off aero (think thats what it's called) and all of the un-needed backround apps in vista.......clocks, callenders, pretty desktop themes and all that nonsense. Just give me the barebones OS not a pretty one! I want the fastest performance i can get......... It loads up faster now also :)
  7. That's correct for my PC. I already had a dual boot setup. XP & Vista64. I initially installed DCS BS on XP (because every other sim/game works much better on XP for me). I tried the affinity trick and didn't notice any gain........ so after reading many post here, I said what the heck, let me try it on Vista. So I installed it and was amazed at how much SMOOTHER the whole thing played! (no micro stutters). Then I enabled all four cores and got a HUGE boost in fps! So for me, I now have some use for vista..........BLACKSHARK. I was so excited, I rebooted into XP and uninstalled BS without de-activating it :( But overall, I'm very happy with this. Just wish I had more time to devote to my hobby :) I still can't get over how great this sim is! I got the russian version and was happy to get the English version and can't wait to get my hands on that printed manual. ~Home built QX9650 3.0 overclocked to 4.0 on air. 4gb GSkill DDR2-800. TIR4. TH2GO. X-fi Platinum.~
  8. That second video was awesome! Make me have an even greater appreciation for an awesome simulation we have in DCS Blackshark! Imagine when we have graphics and vehicles that are so true to life that it would be hard to tell we were in a sim.......... 10 years, 20. Just hope I'm around to see that day!
  9. Thanks Wags for another great producer's note. I watched it, then went for a flight today and i must say...... I have much better control now. I think it's starting to click! One thing i did this time was not use the trimmer as much in turns as I used to. I was trimming every rudder & bank input before and it just wasn't pretty. But on my last flight I basically trimmed for pitch/speed changes and hovering and I am definately flying smoother. QX9650 2gb, 8800GT, Vista64,Soundblaster X-Fi.
  10. Wags, you are so right. I've been into flightsims for 25 years and have seen many come and go. They all have given me enjoyment as well as some disappointment. There will always be one that will come along that is better just like how glad we were as kids to be lucky enough to have a TV.....BLACK & WHITE. It's childish to start trashing that old black&white box now that I have an HDTV :) It paved the way for the better technology we have today. My first flightsim didn't look much like an airplane but it gave me sooo much pleasure! And it sparked my interest enough to go take flight lessons and get my pilot's license many years later!
  11. Amen, This is an absolutely amazing work of art! I have also been flightsimming since highschool (1983) and back then, I could only dream of a sim like this. I have purchased just about every sim out there and I must say this is the cream of the crop! Thanks to all that worked on this.......it is well worth the wait. Now I am fully enjoying my TrackIR. It's also time for me to pull my Cougar out and dust it off :) One more thing.... Wags, I really love viewing your producer's notes. Keep up the good work with those. Also, I haven't seen it mentioned but I for one, think the Blackshark music on the GUI page, is awesome! Oh yeah, this is the first and only program that gives me a reason to use Vista! I have a dual boot system and it definately runs smoother on vista (unlike all of my other sims).
