  1. i use it as a modifier, so gear down is paddle plus radio switch down. gear up is paddle plus radio switch up. zoom in = paddle + radio fwd. zoom out = paddle + radio aft
  2. ok Strong, thanks for the lift :)
  3. INDEED! I've never been more impressed with a sim as I am with DCS A-10C. I've been a flightsim junkie ever since I got a Commodore-64 when I was around 15, so I've had just about every one over the years but this is the KING of them all. Flightsims are what made me go on to take real flight lessons and get my private pilot certificate back in 1998. This one is the closest feeling to actual flying I've had on a PC. Thank you so much ED for keeping this genre alive. Thank you Matt, your videos are really helpful in getting a grip on what this thing can do. You are like my flight instructor :) I'm not doing much actual flying these days due to the cost and I'm not sure if I can ever force myself to get back into FSX or X-plane now that I have the hog! I can only imagine what DCS F-16 will be like :) .....can't wait.
  4. Thanks for the info, I need all the advice I can get related to joining the multiplayer world. Who's the 1st that you mentioned?
  5. Thanks Cibit, I guess I should get Team Speak and get everything setup first. As soon as I can get some time, I'll give it a go. Funny thing is although I'm a private pilot, I still am a little intimidated by online flying :) I did try out Vatsim awhile ago and that wasn't too bad.
  6. This sim is truly awesome! I'm amazed at the level of detail. I'm a real Cessna 172 pilot and this sim is the closest thing I've had to real flight on a PC. Right now with my limited free time, I'm not sure if I'll ever mess with FSX or X-plane anymore :) I'm having a BLAST in my hog! I feel pretty confident in using most of the systems but I still haven't taken the plunge into Online flight. Where should I start? Is there a recommended server to get my feet wet in Multiplayer? What do you guys recommended? Thanks
  7. yeah ALT mode is very handy! I love setting up an orbit til I get things figured out with JTAC or whatever. As far as the Autopilot flying me to a waypoint, I'm glad it don't, I'd rather do that myself.
  8. I'm lovin it  Now I just need more free time:mad:
  9. great! four 19 inch screens and Helios
  10. Whew! After much trial and error, finally got it working properly with TH2go and MFCD exported to 4th monitor with Thrustmaster OSBs velcroed to the bezel. I had to reposition the MFCD a few times due to my improper calculations but everything looks great! Now I'm experimenting with Helios and "Sandman's profile". A few adjustments are needed........I think I'm going to have to get this Helios thing, looks awesome :) I'll post a picture in a few
  11. OK thanks. good to see damage is modeled :)
  12. Hi, I searched but couldn't find what I'm looking for. After getting shot up pretty bad from AAA, I noticed that my canopy looks untouched! Does the canopy ever show damage? just wondering. Thanks for this great sim. I'm really getting hooked:) This is the best sim I've ever used...and I've had em all;). I have my PPL, I've only flown a Cessna 172. To me, DCS A-10 has the best feeling flight model of any other sim! As a real pilot, I can really appreciate the level of detail that you guys have managed to program into the flight model:thumbup:
  13. PPSEL Cessna 172. A little over 200 hours. Earned my wings in 1999 at KTEB. Flew for a short time but had to put it on hold due to finances. Greatest thing I've ever done was live my boyhood dream of becoming a pilot (even if for a short while). I had the joy of giving my three children their first flight ever. Enjoyed flying the Hudson river VFR corridor in NY/NJ and had the pleasure of sight seeing the Statue of liberty, Coney Island and the WTC several times! What an awesome sight flying past the WTC at 1000' msl yet you were below the top of the twin towers! RIP. Love DCS A-10 more than any other sim I've had.....and I've had them all going back to my teenage years on a Commodore-64. FS4,ATP transport pilot, solo flight, F-16 combat pilot, hornet, flanker, Falcon (Amiga version), Falcon 3.0&4.0, X-plane, FSX....etc, etc, etc. I predict DCS-F16 is the next module!
  14. you mean..."SOLO FLIGHT" :) yeah that was probably my first flightsim for the C-64. much fun. EF2000, I still have the CD, keep telling myself I want to dig it out and see if it will install on my current PC just for fun. But i really have to get my head into the new king....DCS A10C and get into the ground school (manual)!
  15. Really brought me back to my teenage years in the '80's. My first computer was a C-64 (was like a 1st girlfriend :), followed by Amiga then PC. I remember all those titles. I remember getting F16 combat pilot from J&R computer world in Manhattan. I think that's when I fell in love with the Falcon...Then I actually got FALCON...lol. Never joined the military to live my dream but many years later, I did go on to flight school and got my Private Pilot License thanks to my love of flightsims! It was the greatest thing I've ever done! Loved every minute of the training and lessons. I've been simming ever since my Commodore 64 and now it's my only form of flying due to the high price of the real thing. I love Blackshark and have only scratched the surface of DCS A-10C, but I'm really looking forward to enjoying it more than any other. It's already an awesome flightsim even in BETA!!!
  16. I put my Cougar on ebay two days ago but now I'm wondering if I should have stored it. And the worst part is I have no idea when I'll be able to purchase the Warthog here in the USA!!! My hands a sweating to get hold of that baby! Why is it taking so long to get these over here?
  17. "what's that?" she said pointing to the shiny new Cougar. "hmm, my joystick honey" I mumbled. "You must think I was born yesterday, that's different" "Hmm, well it's sort of the same" I mumbled again. "Sort of?" she thundered. "so how much did this 'sort of' joystick cost?".... I am always amazed how she manages to notice my new kit, and yes she wears the trousers HAHAHAHAHA I can't stop laughing! she sounds like my wife. Reading this really capped off my birthday today...lol. Hey maybe I can call it my Birthday gift (when I order it)
  18. "Yeah sure you can, just read this lot first" hahaha i like that! I can't wait to get my hands on this baby. I've been waiting for a sim like this since I first got my hands on Falcon (for Amiga 500) and then Falcon 4. My only problem is finding enough time to enjoy it...lol. Oh.... I absolutely love my TrackIR! Now I'll have to get my hands on that Hotas Warthog....I still use and enjoy my Cougar (but she's showing her age) :-)
  19. Sold me too once I changed .... HelicopterTrimmerZoneRudder = 5.0; The value of 5 made a world of difference for me! I had given up on the new trimmer option until I read a post about changing the value to 5, now I'm hooked!!! Works like a charm........This patch is AWESOME!
  20. Well what can I say that hasn't already been said? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND REMARKABLE VIDEO! I've enjoyed every little detail. Things are finally starting to fall into place now. Great work. Count me in. Looking forward to more lessions. You remind me of my flight instructor when I was working on my PPL. Redtail (PPSEL. Cessna 172) Standing by sir
  21. LoL i feel like such a dummy! i tried a night mission and flipped on the NV lighting switch then flew around in darkness saying to myself..... Damn it's so dark out there how the hell am I supposed to see anything! I knew I was missing something, just couldn't quite figure it out........lol. Now I know, NVGs have to be activated one i'm in the cockpit. Duh....RTFM. Man I love this sim more and more everytime I get a chance to fire it up (which isn't as much as I'd like....due to work schedule and kids) !
  22. THIS MAY BE OF USE TO SOME OF YOU UPDATE: I was having random luck with the rocketfish bluetooth dongle on Vista 64. I upgraded to windows 7 beta (not a good thing, should have done separate install), and had NO LUCK at all getting the bluetooth to work using the vista drivers. I like windows 7 which seems to run cleaner & faster, BUT i wanted to uninstall it and go back to Vista but learned that that isn't possible without losing everything and doing a clean reinstall!........ So I thought to myself, why not try the XP drivers to see what happens........AND to my surprise, that did the trick!!! The Vista drivers didn't work in Win7 but the XP drivers did!!! :)
  23. yeah i like the effect of a vibrating seat but unfortunately, i have to keep it rather low because i don't want to rattle the hell out of the old lady downstairs :) I got it when it first came out (full price) but haven't used it that much because of that reason. But once I started flying BS I knew it was time to fire it up again. I'm pretty sure the price is much lower now so it might be worth giving it a try if you want some feedback. i also liked how the recoil of guns feel in FPS games. I gotta give it a spin next time i play crysis........ I have very little time, so it takes me awhile to get through all my favorite games.....lol. Now BS is getting most of that time.
  24. UPDATE: Just wanted to share this for others that might run into the problem. I opened up the transducer (allen key) and found a broken wire. It came apart at the solder joint on the little circuit board, probably due to a weak weld and the vibration. So I re-soldered it and that solved my problem. Now it's working as good as new :)
  25. I bought a butt kicker awhile ago and used it some in MSFS. I was somewhat impressed but wish it worked better. I slipped away from using it but recently wanted to give it a try with BS and to my disappointment, it stopped working :( The base unit works and the LEDs show it recieves a good audio signal but the vibrator won't vibrate! Damn i'm pissed, don't know what could be wrong. I've only used the thing a few times!!!
