  1. That is exactly what I am talking about as the biggest trap. Weather upgrade = updating of ALL modules/terrains which are already paid = wasting yesterdays profits or new modules profit (do you see the tightening of the lopp?). They cant make it out with one-time payment. Its like someone would urge today developers to update games from 1985 to today standards, because they paid them. And that is what we literaly wants with updating once bought modules. With monthly subscription they can afford it. But they cant sink money from new modules to old ones. And with making new weather effects, every module will have to gain new textures, physics or something i cant even imagine. Same scenario with regular updates of core.
  2. Actually there is NO PROFIT for future development, BUT EXPENSES for future development. They profit by selling, not developing. And that is why they never cant develop more for something they have already been paid for (at least not for a long time)
  3. One-time payments cant contribute enough to such enormous project like DCS. I would think that best model will be 1) Modules payments as it is today 2) Free Caucasus and modules like it is today with some restriction like "Trial / Demoversion / Multiplayer Restriction / Future Dynamic campaign restriction etc." 3) 5-9 $ monthly subscriptions, for full use. Ofcourse I would want to see better core/engine focus then. And not having things delayed regularly by 3 years. Otherwise they will be spamming modules which will grow older (and potentially bugged) with every update and they will have more and more problems in future with their optimalization, as they will need to spam more and more to have finance. So they will have no time to keep other modules up-to-date and still developing new things. And the trap is bigger with every module released. They should focus maximum energy after hornet on the game core. Being more user friendly, dynamic, pretty. I would never go play different fly sim just because they push out some module fancy to me. (for those who think more modules = more players) I dont care aboout JUST modules. Its whole complex game why I play DCS. They should not overestimate the quality of the modules against whole simulator environment. It just cant go a long way with one-time payments for ever-lasting development project. (The quality will get worse in time, or the development will just literally stop at one time because of its enormous size - I think the problem is already real - (the yearly reports of upcoming fetures next year which actually come in place 2-3 years later) 1)People will always pay for what they like in reasonable manners. If not, there is no demand for such product. I am sure DCS is on the up trend and with new technologies emerging in the future it will be even better. VR/Motion platforms/Peripherals - this all has best use in simulations. 2)People who dont want to pay, are not customers to be focused on anyway. Dont forget the 80/20 rule. its 20 % base who make 80 % profit to ED. So no need to focus on people who dont want to pay for the product. Current plan is by my honest opinion non-sustainable for better future. (not far away future)
  4. You´re welcome :-) You will have to discover many unknowns during your time with DCS :-D
  5. You have locked nose wheel steering.. If I remember the default shortcut is somethin +Q (LAlt + Q or Lshift + Q) just look into key binds. nose wheel steering.
  6. Englishmen really, russian language on you. Enjoy the subtitles like whole of the world mostly in foreign language. Stop whining.
  7. Download kneeboard in user files with bases. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1523987/ for instance. Or make yourself one.
  8. Actually I enjoy this preflight settings quite much :-) ADF,radio etc.
  9. I dont feel good about what I read there. I hope there will be no game fraction/spliting, as it most probably be a nightfall of DCS as we know it today. If it will be just a successor to FC3 then it will end ok. I dont think it can end anygood otherway. Greedy will win in the end and thus the more simple game always win against the hardcore one. Just experience from crapoid AAA titles against India/startups these days. I would really like to know from devs how it is mentioned with the MAC separation from DCS. It really worries me.
  10. good point
  11. try different game with similar hardware requirement. very strange
  12. Hypoxia is modelled in my opinion. What is not modelled is pressurization I think. 8km is very bad for oxygen and you definatly get hypoxia (hypo = lower than needed level but not necesarrily insta deadly.) but I think that its not like instant black out. Although with such adrenaline like in airplane it can happend much faster due to higher oxygen demand. Anyway, even that you dont black out, you will almost instantly start acting very stupidly with lack of sense and awareness because of lack of full oxygen demand. Just a couple of biophysics pages I remember. While turning off the flow to mask in Mig-15 is instant ANOXIA (No oxygen at all) because I guess the mask is hermetically sealed at the face and you literally turn off any flow to the mask (at ground level it just taking flow from enviroment air with normal air oxygen), the oxygen you turning on will start flowing on higher altitudes (above 2.000m ASL). If you dont turn it on. You will be lacking it above the 8.000m and the effects will come into place. above 10 km it will be very clearly i guess.

On clickable cockpit is great, that you literally start siming with starting the aircraft, setting systems, radios, navigation. I love that equally as flying. I so far played mostly gen 2 and lower A/C with full fidelity, so in flight I dont find much of a workload. Ok Viggen is probably gen 3 and its more complicated. I would recommend to start from gen 1 if you already love the game and know its just for you :-)
  14. Perfect one. I was hoping for such features as in VR is very hard to point on location and take the coords even with elephant memory. Next step: Do it without need of a keyboard and its super. (need of writing ATTACK, B1 etc.). not very comfort to type on keyboard in VR with HOTAS
  15. Can sign up to this one. Begining is sometimes very frustrating. There are so many aspects to learn. Or even figure out that something is a big aspect to learn :-)
  16. Yeah, how many of them i burned before I opened the manual to check on these:-)
  17. Its cleary visible and I realized it in first 15 seconds of the module, but for some reason, I dont care much of it even in VR. My eyes are glaring more on the instruments and terrain then sides of my A/C. But still would be nice to have it fixed.
  18. I agree with the "lot of flying without combat engagement". Some Support planes could be fun, but still would be nice to keep it more to military side or with some military use. Edit: Maybe it would attract new type of players, which are not mainly combat oriented. For me, DCS started with helicopters. Which are not very combat thing for me as well.
  19. I remember this like half year back when i had to go for win 10 because of VR. I had it too very stable and fast on win 7 (without VR use - that was very unstable). Nevertheless - Make sure that you have Paging file (16 GB if you have 16GB ram). This one helped me most, but anyway, it was disaster - but most of the problems were with VR use. For regular monitor use, I was fine with the page file settings. I have upgraded my pc a lot since then and I am ok now.
  20. Hello there, I cant agre with you more :-) After L39, I started yesterday with Mig-15 and going by its historic development line back to SU-27/33 which I almost started with. Hope they will release Mig-19 before I am done with the Relic campaign. So far, its totally awesome plane as well. I would recommend it to you. Or the F86F if you are more to "opposite" side. But in Mig-15 you will mostly see the same as in L-39 at lower level techline. With L-39 I started to enjoy every single instument evolution in the Eastern airplanes, not just the airplane itself:-) Regards
  21. Hmm. didnt know I can support ED on steam. I put the game as best VR game of the year. This category could make it.
  22. 14 Modules (5 planes, 1 terrain, NavigationSystem (3x), 4 Campaigns, Combined Arms) Been waiting for this one :-) But to be honest, without the discounts being regularly I would take only 2 planes and 1 campaign. Other modules was "I would like but dont need."
  23. My vote to Mi-8 as well. Very pleasure to play it even if you are not much into combat employment. It is my favourite module as well. Also, nice campaign for it are availabl. So far I can recommend the oilfield campaign if you dont look for combat engaments. The SPring Tension which is free in the module is also fine. But it sometimes doesnt work properly.
  24. Pikey: Thank you for the post. It was quite hard reading for me to be honest so I am not sure if I understand everything correctly. I am totally looking forward for mig-23. As well for mig-19. Gonna buy them day 1. I enjoy modules in single player as well. Its not very likely to have a decent flight with L39 for instance in public PvP server. I agree with you on the opportunity of trying everything and probably one day I will decide to make a run for western aircrafts - i love the amount of training campaigns available for these.
  25. Yeah, I definatly buying it tomorrow, but it is as you said. Its not really competitive for multiplayer where everyone is flying in Gen4 jets. But I am taking all the russian aircrafts I dont own tomorrow. Gonna take it from mig 15 as a historic run to Mig 29.
