What is the difference between having the Route mode activated or deactivated, when there is no PVI-800 navigation use. ?
-
Thanks. When u hold the trimmer, the AP-stabilize is always suspended right? This means that when u are not in FLT-DIR you should always work with the trimmer by holding it ? Another question, what setting of these APs is actually supposed to be on engamements 1) While in fly 2) Hovering Thank in advance

Hello SimPilots, So i finally made it to Ka-50 after 1,5 year in DCS. Probably as everyone new to this module, I wonder with Trim and APs. Sorry for writing it, I am not used to watch Youtube videos, i like it in text form. Firstly, I would like to say that I know how to use Trim in Huey and Trim + dampeners in Mi-8. Lets consider my Ka-50 always have the Bank/Pitch/heading AP on as it should be. I understand the modes using PVI-800 or having no nav and using route What confuses me and I would like to please you for short answer is: 1. When I have no PVI-800 navigation on, route mode off, what my APs actually do (Damping only / stabilizing ? how) in terms of heading/bank/pitch. 2. When i push the FLT-DIR (by manual only damping is used, no stabilization) - How it differs from the 1. mode ? in terms of heading/bank/pitch. --------- 3. Trim - when in no PVI-800 nav and having route, there is said to hold the trim to change track and release it when on desired path. Does this means trim is always to be holded when manipulated? In huey and mi-8 when i level, i just click the trimmer and its alright. For instance, in no navigation and no route mode. How to operate the trim? Just level and push the trimmer once? Thanks in advance.

man, thank you. this may finaly make me to play on persian gulf. this shoul be included in every map by default. you shoul be paid by ed fot it or get soke bonus credits..

Yeah, the fight with graphics against immersion. Got it everytime I am making my missions on monitor. Cant wait for the next gen headset and hardware. also better implementation.
-
you cant do refuel/rearm or repair on neutral airport. I am not sure if you can do ground power.
-
did you tried to start it? ;-) the mission
-
yeah, confirming. its a skill check. figure whats wrong:-) tricky lector

I guess upcoming MAC will adress this in some degree - there are planned free parts of some maps.

Its a difference between information what you eyes give your brain and what your https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestibular_system give to your brain. Actually in sitting position its much better because most of your body is just same as it is in the plane. In real plane, if its start rolling you will see the same, in VR you dont feel the accelerations which are giving brain info positioning. Dont forget that there is no acceleration in either way when u are sitting, so it is just eyes what are adapting. when u play games in stand where you move etc, you can easily lose sense of how your body actually is positioned, but in seat you are always the same. This is much lighter version to cause motion sickness - because you actualy dont move, sooner your brain will act with it same as with any other motion picture i guess. Dont be scared of it. So far something what i would call motion sickness happend to me when i started with it in a 360° space flying in no gravity, you sometimes see everything up and down you have to wave your hands or crouch. after two minutes i had to sit down, anyway a couple of minutes i just punched heavily into the ground because i forgot. So you will have either time in head that its not real, which kinda delte the VR immersion, or you need to play a game which dont mess with your motion senses, which DCS is. The plane acts just how your brain expect it to acts - once you get into flying. It doesnt do something irregular normally. For instance like videos where you look right, but in video the fixed camera is forcing your vision left, this is the most motion sickness generator so far. But in DCS, you will be perfectly all right if you have no issues in cars, buses whatever.

page 80, seems like most LH / RH is incorrect. oxygen on rh, hydro, pneu gauges on LH. should be opposite i would say. just check.

then i should sorry to you for my misunderstanding. sorry

that "side feature" is making good module worst module for VR. unplayable.. and with actually most modern red aircraft its a shame how ignorant the developers are. even the whole canopy glass delete choice would be better than having module without ability to get visual. its absolutely normal to lose visual when focusing only on it. coloured and dirty. i am more capable with l39 or su25t, just because i can see the enemy and not lose them while focusing only on them. also with vigen, no problem. so it is just the canopy of mig what makes it so bad. and that proved it to me by 3 other aircrafts with no problem to do a2a and also seeing mig21 against me how they are completly blind. you should do the quick solution. peace.

Dont be scared of motion sickness, this is mostly issue for games where you stand in room and doing moves. When u siting, its much less of a problem. Ofcourse you will have to adapt a little, but not a big deal, if u are not oversensitive to such issues in real life during transportation for instance. What made me headaches was low FPS. You must stay while flying on 45 and better. Its ok to be on 30 for a while, but not below. When it starts to shutter, that can make a nice head ache. From modules - stay away from Mig 21, until it got canopy/cockpit overhaul. Quite good is L-39 if you want to enjoy nice trainer. Got nice readable instruments. For russian A/C i figured out that red lights for instruments are terrible. white lights go very nice. Because even in dark, the dark scenery is made of light in the headset, so its like darkness really doesnt exist in VR and thus cannot be threated like darkness in real life. My opinion..

Wow, I didnt even prayed. Wouldnt mind if it take more time, but damn I am looking forward to have a red A2A plane for cold war playable in VR (hopefully).
-
Oh, I probably got it now :-) Try the ground power. Maybe weak battery (Accumulator)
-
It was a joke, cant help you man. Mostly when this happens to me, i try to start from Ground power, then repair.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing. "Chuck Yeager" Didnt you managed a Good landing ? :-D

Definetly. I dont do this, because i am not playing Western aircrafts so far. And when I do these things I love to have full fidelity module. Its not that fun with Su-33, because whole navigation wll be 1 - button = set to return, 2 - button = set the landing base/carrier. Done. Finding the appropriate ADF, RSBN, radio channels in kneeboard, knowing where I am taking off from and where to head before I acquire the signal for the systems, that what makes it fun :-) But I will probably one day buy the F-18 just for these purposes, it has very big support and future features coming, everything is about hornet today. even the ATC will be made first for carrier (2-3 modules) while the all other modules can wait for airport ATC..

VR is good, but you are very handicapped with it in multiplayer competition. I have no much of experience for A2G engagement, but On cold war server I am ok, but this is probably because there is "weaker" Anti-Air power. So i can close enough. when playing single player A2G - no point trying.. Maybe tutorials are ok. So far my most likely activity is flying by instruments. in very low visibility, total rainy and making fly and landing by ADF, RSBN/PRMG. Also Helicopters are quite enjoy to fly in VR. I love Mi-8, Huey. Edit: F-18 is recent and newest module, so it can be much better tuned for VR. If it has clean and uncoloured canopy, then you will be just slightly handicapped. You must try. If you dont expect to be best in it and play for immersion, than you will like it even through some disadvantages :-) You can always compare it to Mig-21 visibility through canopy to appreciate the hornet. Anyway, what i have heard, with TrackIR one can look backwars like theres no limit in turning the head, this is not real either and have nothing to do with simulation - unless its aircraft system helping the pilot. Anyway there you see - who wants to top the score boards - go for TrackIR, those who wants to enjoy and play for study, fun, whatever - go for VR.
-
I find any combat in VR inappropriate when it comes to visual. If you love military engamements, I would recommend to go for TrackIR and ask about VR in 1-3 years again. I am playing with Rift on 1080Ti. Maybe different VR headset is better with spotting but I dont think so. The objects, which u can clearly see on desktop with same settings - like smoke marker. is visible from 50km, while in VR it just doesnt exist on the screen, no matter if zoomed or not. It is just not on the screen. So literally you wont see the objects, because they wont be on the screen, not because they are hardly to see. (In that scenario though you will love the 25T television zoomed). Anyway its better to take "stupid" rockets and fire them easy way, as you spot the target too late to work it with guidance systems.

No save game function frustrating for busy DCS fans
Wexler replied to Showdown's topic in User Created Missions General
Would be nice function. This function could possibly enable the dynamic system. Like start on airport and save on next one, and start from there with last A/C state . fuel / weapons / failure. Finally a proper sandbox. Hope something with this come with dynamic campaign. Actually this function would enable semi-dynamic mission at least. -
There are plenty of modules which are finished. Most of the finished modules have temperature controls and windshield defrost buttons working. Once and if function of windshield frosting comes to DCS, it will rise new problem - implementation to these "done" modules. Thats what I am talking about. Early Accesss is different. Its like a deal that they will work on it, but on the finished modules, there is no deal. Actually I never pre-purchase since Fallout 4 happend to me.
-
Agree. But thats the problem with financing. Would you work on something you have already done and been paid for? Once the buyer took it and used it for a lot of time and then come back that for some reason he wants you to do something free for him on it? No you wont. You need to work on something that feeds you. Its not charity. They cant be good with financial model used in games which are developed, sold, looked over for half year and forgotten. And that is how their cash flow from modules work, except the community expect them to work on them endless, which is not possible. The modules are not very connected. I dont fly on other terrain than caucasus even that i got all the others because i would have to spend hours to make a mission or kneeboards to be able to play same a/c on same difficulty level like on caucasus. And I would like to, I like them, but they just making new module and dont adjust the ones that has been made for new content. Its a shame how much user work must be put into it to have nice working conditions. I dont care much about reasonable money to pay. But if they going to push modules and no upgrades to gameplay maybe someday I would rather suffer worse A/C modelling for much better whole experience. This will never be solved actually if they are dependent on making new modules. With every new modules, the amount of work to make core change is multiplied. On the other hand, they have commercial licences which I dont know how work, so I stop in this thead here. Lets hope they have something big, hidden for us.
