  1. Yeah, maybe I’m missing something, but it appears to me it is just voice command, using voice attack, and even references the va profile. So from what I can see it is a va profile? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I can’t seem to find this answer, can someone please help? What does Viacom do for me, that voice attack doesn’t already if I set up a profile? Is it just a VA profile? Or does it have extra stuff like extra sounds or something? Not trying to belittle what it is, just trying to understand. How does it compare to baileys profiles?
  3. unfortunately, that's the extent of my OBS knowledge....good luck :)
  4. I use OBS occasionally just to record my screen if someone is showing me how to do something...I think due to multiple monitors (one laptop + 32" screen) it gets confused. I have to reset the monitor each time I go to use OBS. right click and resize
  5. If it stopped overnight, then my guess would be windows updates. Should be able to see when updates were installed, and like that up with when it stopped working.
  6. I don’t use obs, but since you’re stuck, have you tired the obvious, such as uninstall, reinstall? If so, can you find an old version to install and try?
  7. need to add in power stations to destroy. that would be cool
  8. interesting. I could use win7, but can't use my win 8. Though it was on a tablet, so it was OEM. Maybe that is the difference.
  9. Good news is Dcs is easy to move, so if short on money, you may get away with a 500gb... but if you’ve got the money, go bigger, or a second 1tb. For reference. My PC is 2 months old, so isnt full of crap. I have 206gb used on my boot drive, which is windows, office, photoshop, lightroom, and a handful of small apps (notepad ++, 7zip, etc). My game drive has used 333gb, and it only has: - DCS default maps etc, only add on is f18 and f14 - DCS accounts for 75gb - MX vs ATV ~16gb - GTA 5 (90gb) - a handfull of other games on my Steam catalogue, but 95% I haven't installed on this PC as yet (never play them).
  10. am I reading it correct that you are only getting a single 500gb SSD? If so, that will be fine for boot drive, but you'll be wanting more than that reasonably quickly if you get lots of modules, or do anything other than DCS.
  11. sounds good. I doubt I'll make one in near future, but may do. Do you have a list of what you assigned buttons/switches/rotary to? I am trying to work out if there is value in me doing prior to VR. As I use mouse to click cockpit, Only keyboard I use regularly are: - Throttle left/right while doing startup (I dont have a split throttle) - gear - flaps thats pretty much it from a regular use perspective. If I am doing carrier, then I'll also do - hook - antiskid - wingfold - launch bar - auto attach to cat I suppose if I move to night flying, light knobs may be handy.
  12. awesome. thanks. I am still a year or more away from VR, but have been considering doing a box. Great to see someone that has made the box as well and shared the 3d print. What sort of cost did it come to? EDIT: looks like about $60usd from Amazon links? Not too bad
  13. hmmm...I thought I saw it on steam, but can't now. Maybe it was just from the ED store.
  14. benchmark wise outside of DCS (no-one benchmarks with DCS), the 5700xt wins over 2060. The 2060 super is pretty similar to the 5700xt. Search my posts for a few comments on what sort of FPS I get in different resolutions for an idea - I have a 5700xt Unless you are getting a major saving on the 2060, I would be looking to the 5700xt, or a 2060 super. People round here seem to think the Nvidia's run better when comparing like for like... but I'm guessing that is old information... now if you have a higher budget, the more expensive nvidia's will beat the XT, but at least here in Aus, you need to pay at least 50% more to get it.
  15. there was a deal to get carrier and hornet together at a discounted rate.
  16. food for thought: 1. you can use a win 7 key for win 10. I just did this with my recent build. I would try the win 8 key and see what happens. If it doesn't, see point 2. 2. Win10 can be used without a license, you just lose some (no big deal) features. If that doesn't suit you, see point 3. 3. You can do an upgrade from 8 to 10 via accessibility
  17. The hornet is the reason I am on DCS...but then, I only wanted a hornet as that is what flies near me.
  18. Facebook is shocking. But once you're in its so hard to get out. @bimaster you forgot to mention VPN :)
  19. i put in 2x nvme and love them, but I only went for them as they were the same price. They take up less room, and are faster. That said, I really don't think any average user or gamer will notice a real bum on seat difference. If you are doing 4k video editing...then no question, get nvme. Note nvme also run hotter, so make sure you are comfortable with monitoring temperature and have or willing to get decent cooling. Mine runs fine without heatsinks...need to get around to putting the heatsinks on to see the difference.
  20. Not sure how it works, but if you can save a track and then I can run it. I’m happy to report back.
  21. I've had zero issues. A mate has had one for ages without issues (though he doesn't use DCS)
  22. wow. I am on 11mbit, though I could go to 48mbit for an extra $10 a month. Australia...large distance, small populiation.
  23. I've got ryzen 5 3600 with 5700xt. I haven't done any large multiplayer, but at 1920x1200 I don't go below 90fps that I have a seen. when I ran three screens 5760x1200 I got 50-60fps when not much was doing and as low as 25fps or so when more things were happening. Both with high settings then bumping view distance up further. When I go to medium settings, with 3 screens from memory, I was still above 60fps all the time.
