  1. Well that might explain it right there. There's a chicken/egg problem if you try to configure it via the WebGUI for the first time? Can anyone else confirm? (I couldn't access the WebGUI on the local machine either.)
  2. Did you try a clean install of the dedicated server? It seems those of us who are experiencing this are ones who more recently tried it for the first time and/or installed it on a clean system that never had DCS on it before.
  3. That's ridiculous!
  4. Yeah, I've noticed that I run out of fuel when it's set to "both" and only by dropping the lever down to the 3 position does the engine come back on.
  5. Run on the command line: netstat -a That will show all your listening ports. Try it before launching the server to see if anything else is on 8088 and 3389. Only after I start the dedicated server does 8088 start listening. The DCS site shows the server exists, but can't connect to the WebGUI. 3389 doesn't seem to be listening but I assume that's because I need the WebGUI to start the DCS side of the server.
  6. I wonder if it's because those who it works for had it working previously and something is missing now in later updates. Can anyone verify that a totally clean install of the dedicated server works for them? I tried installing it for the first time during the last update version, on a clean machine that's never had DCS on it, and it never worked, shows as running but the WebGUI won't connect. (And yes, its port is forwarded. I'm very familiar with running server software behind a NAT router.)
  7. Yeah I've finally been managing to get them up by climbing harder than I would normally feel is safe to keep the airspeed dangerously low. Was finally able to drop the bomb too, must have been a CB issue in all my previous attempts. Most of the arming positions don't seem to work except for dive/delay though.
  8. So to all of you who said it was impossible, thanks for the support.
  9. Perfect! Can't wait. (Can't wait to be able to drop the bomb again either. ;) )
  10. It's not your stick, it's the module. Bombs (er, bomb) currently not working.
  11. Why would hot guns require any more current to fire?
  12. Not fixed here either. Windows 7, by the way. (And yes I have ports 10308 and 8088 forwarded to that machine, both TCP and UDP. netstat -a reveals only 8088 is listening, is that because the DCS server portion doesn't listen until it's commanded to start by the WebGUI?)
  13. It doesn't appear to be flush with the hood, at least not on the interior cockpit model. But if it is you can still do it. When your POV is in the cockpit the cockpit interior, canopy, and other parts around the cockpit are a second model that replaces those areas of the external model. All they'd need to do is make the hood one of those parts that's swapped.
  14. Point well taken. ;)
  15. The A8 is in "eary access" (*very* early, it's actually worse now than at initial release, currently you can't even drop the only bomb it can carry). DM is on the long list of promised features to come. DM also seems to be on the backburner for a lot of DCS aircraft, as they're adding an entirely new DM system soon it's understandable that they don't want to have to do this work twice.
  16. Identification flares. We can actually fire them in the 109-K. Choice of color, even!
  17. The F-14 has really upped the bar on pilot models and animation. I want body movement now too. :) And yeah, the iron cross is a bit over the top.
  18. Yeah it's nowhere near Mach 1 when that happens. And if you expend or jettison your weapons it goes away. Just reduce throttle to 90-95% RPM and it won't happen. It's a feature, not a bug. (And I think it's reasonable in the amount, it doesn't really inhibit you from doing anything. Buffeting *is* fairly high frequency.)
  19. Same here. I only tried it for the first time a few weeks ago during the previous update, same result then. Web interface shows my server as up with a fresh serial number but when I try to connect to the web GUI it fails. Are we sure the internal testers are actually working from a fresh server download installation and don't have some other files that the rest of us might not?
  20. Same after the July 17 update. :(
  21. Exactly. Displacement (the raindrop effect) is another cheat for refraction and they don't have any philosophical problem including that in the sim. We're not building Focke Wulfs here, we're simulating what they look like. (And sound like and behave like, but none of those are affected in any way by the 3D models.) We're free to fudge the model in any way that helps it look closer to reality, and reducing the thickness of the windscreen frames, particularly the side and bottom, would look a lot closer to reality than what we have now. On the *interior cockpit model only*, of course.
  22. SP only for learning. Wouldn't have even tried DCS if it didn't offer MP.
  23. If you raise your head then you lose sight of the crosshairs in the gunsight. If you center the crosshairs in the gunsight then anything below the aim-point is blocked by the frame. How is this not an impediment to aiming? As you're almost always leading your target, any restriction of the ability to see down your nose is a serious impediment to aiming. The top edge of the lower windscreen frame should be extended down to be made flush with the top of the cowling. The frame sides should be made thinner as well to simulate the effect of the refraction. (Both of these changes would be to the interior model only, of course. The external model will be unaffected.) Yes, there's blisters for the guns on either side that are already almost flush with the "bar" but there's a channel down the middle you can see and aim through. No, it's not geometrically correct but it will *look* correct and that's all that matters in this application.
  24. I find the trim isn't where I would prefer it. The Bf-109K has a nice feature in its Special menu that lets you set the fixed rudder and aileron trim tabs to your preference. Would be nice if the A8 and Dora both had that as well.
