  1. Wow! Caucasus 2.5 will be the new party place... The images look awesome.
  2. Thank you, that worked. Finally realized there is a dedicated MIC button to be mapped.
  3. As the title suggest, on the Nevada Map, while airborne, I'm unable to open the Comms Menu. The menu works normally while on the ground or as soon as I touch down. I'm unsure if that's F-5 related issue or something to do with the map, but it appears the F-5 is the only affected.
  4. As the title says, I don't have any audio from the RWR system. System is powered on and operational, there are quite a few radar emitters appearing on the screen, just I can't hear any sound from the system. Audio knob all the way to the right, no joy. Any suggestions?
  5. Same here on 2.0.3. First mission loads normally. Exit mission to score screen and "Fly again" same mission results in very long load time. In fact I used the task manager to kill it several times until I red this...
  6. The bumps are one of the sounds I would like to know more about. But I believe what the OP is referencing is the so called "train" sound which is mixed with the wind sound and can be a bit distracting at times.
  7. Flamin, thanks for the input. Tried more aerobatics in the morning. So far that's what became apparent: 1. It's not easy to enter flat spin. (I just somehow managed last night to nail it every time) 2. The PSG appears as spin but it's not. Usually controls neutral in the right moment will recover the jet in less than 2K feet. 3. With persistence the PSG develops and the jet enters the flat spin (of death) 4. As manual suggest keep the controls locked with full rudder and full aileron (spring release pressed) to the opposite direction, stick slight forward, maybe play a bit with the opposite thrust too (and pray). It will spin forever until with a bit of luck the jet recovers into a 90 degree dive. If you lose it and start the "try anything to get me out of here" jerking of the controls you can kiss it goodbye. The successful recoveries took more than 10K feet. 5. F5E is not T38, i.e. it's not supposed to be in a flat spin in a first place. Research continues.
  8. Flight model of this thing is good.. Perhaps too good :smilewink: Last night tried the extreme envelope of the F5 and must say this little thing does spin like no other. The first try I spun from 30K all the way to the ground. The "usual" procedure - stick slightly forward, rudder full opposite, throttle idle - did not work. It just keep spinning and falling, and falling... What started as calm and well measured control inputs, soon became a "try all sort of frantic things" that didn't work. I couldn't believe it how the forest rose closer and closer till I crashed hehehe. Take two - played with the throttle this time. Together with the full opposite rudder tried full opposite thust to try and stop the rotation. Something happened and I recovered losing "only" 15K feet. Back to 30 and tried again. Interesting was that the plane was entering in different variation of spin every time, eventually developing into a flat spin. Crashed again, and again, and again. Couldn't figure a consistent way of spin recovery. Reading TFM didn't really help. Embarrassing as it is I love it. This module is so good.. So could someone point out a bombproof spin recovery technique?
  9. El Hadji is right. I figured the way to use it is before you initiate the turn with ruder pedals neutral, press the switch and then turn. When back in straight line release the switch. Pressing/releasing the steering switch in anything other than neutral gets your plane in the flowers. And don't use this switch during your take off run :)
  10. I had a blast last night. I't was on par with the A10C experience I had some years ago. Thank you Belsimtek. Awesome module!
  11. Works with the open beta 1.5.4
  12. Trim is working fine. It has long travel and perhaps that is why you think it's not working. Fine the trim position gauge and check it that indicates any movement. If it doesn't, then you have a problem. For take off you need to move the trim all the way to 6 or more. More here:
  13. First make sure you have assigned the elevator trim to key or joystick button (I assume you've done this already). There is a small gauge on the left hand side of the HUD controls. You might easily miss it as it's almost hidden under the sunshade of the dashboard. This is your trim position indicator. The F5 came out to have long trim travel. It takes time to move the trim though its full range. For take off you need to set you trim to 6 (for empty AC) or more (for loaded AC). At first I thought trim not working as well but then I did the take off training and figured the trim is long and you need to press the trim up/down a bit longer to feel the effect. Once in trim it's very easy to control it and minor adjustments are sufficient.
  14. +1 on adding a cockpit vibrations slider in the special options (same as in the MiG21 module). I appreciate the realism but all that shaking on my screen doesn't really bring much benefit except straining my eyes. I would rather have this at 20% or something.
  15. There goes another 15 bucks :) Joke aside, serious work and well worth the money. Good timing on the release as well, cause when Homruz comes out Caucasus will fall in interest probably.
  16. Being based in Dubai, purchasing this map would be a default... Bundled with F18 it's going to be no brainier.. There quite a few airports on the UAE site that should be present. Mil airfields and lot of civilian. It's gong to be very interesting map from the strategies perspective, with the gulf in the middle. Probably the carrier ops will be the centerpiece with less attention to detail to the fields around the edges. Anyhow, really looking forward for this.
  17. 2.0.2 updated today. Fixed from 1.5.3 seem to be here as well.
  18. Which is the beauty of DCS, we can be Russian AF pilots today, tomorrow French, next weekend drive the US A10, as we please. Keeps the brain busy and us entertained.
  19. The cold&dark instant mission has very strong sidewind from left, hence the pulling this way. However I had no rudder authority on the take off run (even past 100 knots) and I end up twice in the ditch. The third try was struggle with the nose gear on and differential braking. Somehow managed to go up. Once up the rudder was working as expected. The landing is the same story, with this sidewind the only way to somehow keep the jet on the runway is to land with the nose wheel steering on and dance with the toe brakes. Definitely something is not right there..
  20. Allocated my x-amount of $$ already...
  21. Leatherneck please take my money before I fall for some "Star Citizen" pledge as they call it. Being resisting for the past 5 years but it's getting hard lately :) :) On the serious note well done guys. F14 will be my go aircraft for long long time. Do you plan on pre release?
  22. That... and an A-6 Intruder, and I could be Jake Grafton every night...
  23. Mi-8 is the best theme ever. Often I find myself just sitting in the menu and listening to the music.. Great job creating that one!
  24. Or edit the mission... I changed the start altitude to 500m and everything goes smooth...
