  1. Just to add to this thread as i found more info, even if its info from the D model and maybe those systems are older it may prove valuable to devs. There is info about CMWS integrated in the ASE of the airframe If you search for the public "TM 1-1520-240-10" of the D model https://www.chinook-helicopter.com/Publications/CH-47D_Technical_Publications/Operators_Manual/TM_1-1520-240-10.pdf You can search for terms like CMWS or MWS in the pdf. There are description of systems under the RWR that indicates there is too a MWS. For example, a Figure 4-1-7. AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispenser System (CMDS) diagram. In page 224. Showing modes for SEMI or AUTO, and button to enable/disable the MWS And there are description in detail of systems like the AN/ALQ-156 https://aviationandaccessories.tpub.com/TB-43-0123/TB-43-01230142.htm With diagrams of the displays of threats and mentions to using flares to decoy missiles Oh, and BTW there is this page that contains lots of info in general about the Chinook https://www.chinook-helicopter.com/
  2. After some search in the wwweb i found proof that the CH-47F model US Army was fitted when deployed in Afghanistan as a new airframe. Nineline told me you are doing the Block 1, and there is some info about the F model that indicates the use of CMWS. This article describes the very first F models Block 1 has them: https://www.twz.com/14540/chinooks-over-afghanistan-the-unsung-workhorse-of-americas-never-ending-war Inside teh article at the very bottom you can find a photo of one of the first F model deployed on Afghanistan in 2009 with the CMWS equipped. In fact the ED 3D model showed has already have those bumps modeled but without the sensors fitted Other photos have the CMWS and even the ATIRCM QRC, in 2013 https://www.defense.gov/Multimedia/Photos/igphoto/2001125440/ About documents i found those that made reference to systems like that fitted around that era. It could be the same the system the Apache ED has in DCS but i'm not sure 100%. I think is named AN/AAR-57, the same as featured in the Apache. If its the same system they will share the same documentation and even the sounds of the betty. If you go to the public web they even have a Chinook as screenshot, and confirm its deployement on US Army in 2009 https://www.baesystems.com/en-us/product/ot225-advanced-threat-infrared-countermeasures-atircm-system If you search the web there are public documents, you can search by: "2010atircm.pdf" https://www.dote.osd.mil/Portals/97/pub/reports/FY2010/army/2010atircm.pdf?ver=2019-08-22-112922-130 or "2013chinook.pdf" https://www.dote.osd.mil/Portals/97/pub/reports/FY2013/army/2013chinook.pdf?ver=2019-08-22-111327-220 And there are some documents AircrewManuals from 2007 & 2013, that describe the use of CMWS as procedures If you want those you can search by "TC 1-240" & "TC 3-04-34". And then if you search by CMWS you'll find a few mentions in both And there is some footage from 2011 that proves too those systems are fitted In the 20.51 mark as the link provides. Here is a snapshoot where you can clearly see it in the fron. After that there is another shot were you see it in the back. null I hope it will be added, as there is sufficient evidence that it is a system that fits the era on which ED's Chinook is based. And it seem that its the same CMWS from the Apache. Since the Chinook will have the RWR as part of the ASE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment) systems, it would make sense to me that it would come too with the CMWS fitted Thanks
  3. Amazing this is still present in the April update (6 months later)
  4. Thank you for the transparent response, much appreciated. I'll buy it through HB store then
  5. If i may ask, why HB choose not to opt in on the ED Miles? Just out of curiosity, i was waiting to be released there to make the purchase
  6. nullIssue still present at version DCS 2.9.0.46801 Open Beta
  7. Yep, i'm using an AMD 5800X I think menus are ok. Only time i noticed those huge FPS drops were during those events. The keybinding and in the editor, like a month ago. Will test later to see if it happens in menus too Edit: First quick test. Seems that the menus are ok. Keybinding one too now, though the last time i spent much more time there binding all my modules. Editor maybe is related to selection of aircrafts that are clients. It was a public server mission
  8. I have still the same issue. Mouse is a G502. And in MT too. Few weeks ago before this update i had to rebind all my modules due to new HOTAS. While binding the menu become more a more laggy when you select things to keybind. As the OP describes it happened when you clicked to change those controls at first. Then it degraded to when you moved the mouse. I watched the FPS count and it dropped to around 20FPS And it happened to me too in the editor when i had to go throught some custom radio config on a mission with lots of airframes. I just took a screenshot from the editor with MT and ST, in that multiplayer server mission. In ST is less but the FPS drops when you select things in there. In MT goes down to 20FPS on average. To test it i just click and select some units on the ground one after other, and then the FPS drops So there seems to be some issue there (BTW i have my PC locked to render 60FPS max)
  9. Ok, thank you Since the manual didnt say anything about it like other items i assumed it was implemented. May i suggest to pass this info to BalticDragon so he can add the yellow disclaimer for user to know this is not implemented yet null
  10. I tried to use BOT for ripple bomb delivery and no matter the option selected it drops the first bomb on the desired impact point. null For example, here is a track with a payload of 5x MK84AIR with a BOT of 5 BOT_Issue.trk
  11. You cannot select the Bullseye on the UFC. At least the manual say to input on Menu2 the new point, but PB8 wont accept any new one. null And the info of Menu2 doesnt correspond with the actual BE. For example If you load the Mission Black Sea Patrol (Medium). The BE is the steerpoint 2, and you see the symbol on the TSD. But in the Menu2 remain as BE01
  12. Thanks, it should be that then Somehow I didnt saw that in changelog...
  13. Coolie hats on WSO station doesn't work for UP & DOWN to go through the PROG selected menus, in any of the displays. Both RHC and LHC
  14. When the airplane is cold&dark and with no power, if you move the Landing Gear Lever up you will hear the audio warning tone for Gear
  15. Issue still present at version DCS 2.8.5.40170 Open Beta
  16. Its an ongoing issue since many years Just do a quick google search and: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=dcs+smart+scaling+site%3Aforum.dcs.world
  17. All liveries shows the 101st shoulder patch and the 229th Helmet patch With the only exception of the IAF and the Ghostriders Photo attached with an example of the Indian one where you can see clearly something is wrong with the luas, as they overlap
  18. Yes, can confirm its an issue on the new update Hapenned to all of F1 pilots i flew in the last Open Beta MT
  19. This happens to me when i'm on the air and try to change to spectators. When you get killed and then do that, DCS doesnt crash to desktop. And while you are on the ground it doenst. Only when you are flying In MT exe last open beta, but happened before
  20. For me is a no for the Attitude Hold, but yes for Force Trim. I can mantaining attitude in hover pretty well without much effort most of the time, or while flying My setup is (because i think is important in this discussion): - In special option i have Instant trim for cyclic, and no trim for peddals (peddals without trim springs and FBB) -CM3 base with 10mm stick extension -Warthog throttle -VKB T-Rudder peddals Tested always in Instant Action, Caucasus, Mission "AH-64D Runway Start" It did felt more sensitive last night. Today felt better, but i have a more agresive curve on cyclic axis in the Apache than any other helo in DCS. So it is more sensitive in some degree. But while testing i did notice something that changed, and that may add to the twitchy feeling. In the pedals it feels like the Heading Hold mode has more authority now. And it needs more input to move it. And when it kicks in its harder, making it wobble on the yaw For example, when you take off as soon as you are light on wheels it kicks in . Then as soon as you are on the air, suddenly it makes an input to the left. No matter if your rudder has no input, or if you are pressing it to the left/right. That didnt happened in the previous version 2.8.3.38090 Look at the image named Screenshots A. I tried to not make any inputs. Just collective Disregard this avobe because without Force Trim the FMC was struggling to correct that. My Bad, it was not a good example. Sorry And while you are hovering, using hold modes to achive a stable position, i noticed something too with the FMC cyclic channel. In the DCS 2.8.3.38090 Open Beta when you are stable, the Green cross from the FMC cyclic channel is outside the center. While in the current version is centered In the Screenshots B the most modern version is the one with the blue boxes I dont know if this adds to the discussion, but i found those changes on the behaviour of the Apache that may change the user experience. Hope it helps
  21. Sorry, i think i didnt express well myself You can keep the notes short its understandable of course. What i mean is to make an entrance here on the forums and explain in detail what is what, and what it does. Like you just did. That way we understand better what features we are gettting, and you guys as developers can explain yourself with more space and length. Thanks for the explanations about those features
  22. Fisrt of all, great patch released today on the F1! But i missed one thing. Some insight on what some of that features means or does For example this: Added control surface test. Or those: Implemented missile masking by aircraft body for radar missiles. Added harmonization time to missile locking. Added automatic launch for radar missiles. When this option is selected, the missile fires automatically when getting within missile range of the target. Added full functionality of Magic/SW on switch. I mean, most of the notes are self explanatory, but there are some like those above that the average user doesnt know what it does
  23. Thank you No wonder i couldnt find any bug report of that on "Bugs and Problems"
  24. Please, somebody move this post into the Bugs and Problems thread That way people can find it
  25. Me and other friends have issues too with refueling I even tried the Instant Action mission for AAR, and after contact the fuel enters. But after some time pass the tanker will say "trasnfer completed" and disconect, even i have roughtly only 1900 in the fuel counter. Something weird is happening In the manual there is no info on the procedure, just "Switching on the refuelling system with the transfer/filling switch..." So maybe there are other steps to make
