For some reason it says I dont have access to the A10C modding forum so I figured I might ask here. I am trying to create a basic misssion with a platoon of us troops facing off against a group of insurgents, and having one of the US troops act as JTAC. I tried to copy one of the missions that has a JTAC already and it seems all they did was make 2 scripts "set callsign", and "set frequency" I did that for one of the units but it never showed up as JTAC. How do you make them a JTAC unit?

oh ok thanks. I am more interested in trying to figure out how to script a unit to work as JTAC though :)

Well I know how to place down units on the mission editor, I just dont know how to assign them to function as JTAC. Not sure what the Mission Generator is though, is that the same as the mission editor?

Could anyone shine some light on how to make a unit act as JTAC in the mission editor?

I have been wanting to do this for a while now. I want to set up a scenario of like a USA platoon coming under fire from some insurgents on a hill, then have them use JTAC to bring me in. How do I add JTAC functionality to the US troops I put on the ground, so that I can make this possible.

Well I managed to get a hold of ATC but for some damn reason on VHF FM 30.000 no options show up for JTAC when I try to contact them.

Yeah I enabled the simple radio option but still cannot for the life of me after like 12 hours of trying to contact tower, figure out how. Could you load up the "Defend Camp Yankee" mission and get a hold of tower for me then give me a step by step on how you did it ? I have tuned 140.000 and everything.

So to open the radio commands box would I use MIC UP, DOWN, LEFT, or RIGHT

Where is the mic switch? I see a switch in the cockpit that says mic but its not clickable.

Could someone please help. Maybe a guide or video tutorial or something explaining how to get a hold of tower ?

oh alright, I see now. So I tuned the VHF radio to 140.000 and hit "\" but the radio menu does not come up. grrr.

Where is the other VHF radio then? the one above the UHF radio is the same format as the first one. I'll post a screenshot. EDIT: For some reason i cant get a screenshot.

I have read the manual on radios and its still just not making much sense, so I figure I will ask here. I am doing one of the missions that this sim comes with and when I hit F10 to find out what the airports frequency is, it says this: Call UG29, 140.000 Mhz So I notice on the UHF radio the first dial for the frequency only switches from A, 2, 3 so how am I supposed to dial in a 1 for 140.000? And the VHF radio's format is xx.xxx so 140 isnt even possible. Could someone shine some light on my issue so I can get a hold of ground control pls?

Hey folks I have finally gotten proficient with most of the weapon systems and various other systems within the A-10C and figured I might try my hand at a combat situation. While practicing I would mainly make simple little target range style missions set up according to which weapons I wanted to practice deploying that offered little to no challenge. So has anyone got a link to a mission setup to practice using JTAC, or suggest any of the available missions that offer some JTAC practice?

They should probably make it clear to people to uninstall current version so they dont lose an activation if they are going to make us re-download and re-install.

I figure I will ask this here since you mentioned it. Does that mean we have to download the full game again when a new version comes out, or will we be able to download a patch file that patches our current version?

Hey folks I am setting up a targeting range mission for my self to practice using the AGM-65 Maverick missile and was wondering why it only lets me put mavericks on stations 3 & 9. Can the A10C only carry two Mavericks at a time? Bonus question: What is the difference between the G, D, H, and K versions of the AGM-65? EDIT: I notice I can carry 3 of them per station if I use the LAU-88 version as opposed to the LAU-117 version. What is the difference between these as well? just a bigger munition ?

I notice if I hit "1" on the keyboard it holds altitude so it must engage the A/P and also engage an altitude hold mode.

I know you hit 1 to hold altitude but what number holds your altitude and heading? and do I have to hit 1 and then the other number or just the other number? 2, 3, 4 ?

This is interesting. I just switched from XP 32bit to Win7 64bit and in my XP install I never had this issue, now that I am on Win7 64bit I suddenly have the same problem as the OP...very strange. The testing was done on the same quick mission and on the same target. Within 2 or 3 miles during the day time with no weather conditions it was just as fuzzy as the OP's picture, however on my xp 32bit install it doesnt do that.

What are you tinkering and tweaking with?
