  1. Thanks Power5. I have no problem getting the GBU-12's off in CCRP but these JDAMS are a bit more difficult. Will try your advice.
  2. I have painted the target, moved the SPI to center with the TGP (SOI) and fly over the target with my flight path marker lined up with the vertical CCRP line. I always end up just flying over the target with no HUD indications to release the weapons or anything. Here is a screenshot of my standard setup on this airbase tower. No HUD indications for bomb release, nothing :( http://tinypic.com/r/wgxrfs/7
  3. What are the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in the TGP page/screen?
  4. I have gotten lucky by having the maverick lock on first try, then I come around for a second pass on a truck that was right next to the first one...then nothing, no lock.. Grrr.
  5. As bad as this sounds, I find it confusing trying to read that chart. I am an old Falcon player where you put cursor over target and hit designate to lock it up then wait for the visual ques to release weapons. This one just confuses me. Switch to this mode, hold this down for 2 seconds then this down for one second, switch back to this mode, hit this, then that, and if your lucky, boom.
  6. So assuming the option screen is incorrect, my question still stands ;) so in the options menu TMS UP is TMS FWD?
  7. I am trying to configure my Saitek X52 (non pro version) and having a lot of trouble. I notice a lot of the Maverick guides/tutorials talk about using TMS FWD a lot but in my Options -> Controls page I only see options to set the TMS UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT. Seeing how TMS FWD seems to be pretty crucial for both pointing targets and locking a maverick I figured this would be good to clear up. So, is TMS FWD and TMS UP the same thing? if not how can I configure TMS FWD to something on my X52?
  8. Much easier, thanks.
  9. Ah I was finally able to get off 2 Mavericks and score 2 kills :) The only other thing thats bothers me is if I loose track of where the target designator is, its hard to get it back into my hud and know where im lookin on the TGP page, is there any way to center that? I didnt see an option for HOTAS Slew Center.
  10. I still can't for the life of me figure out how to move the target designator in the TGP page to lock up a target. Nore do I even know how to lock up a target once I figured out how. No where in the options controls do I see designate target or lock target or anything that even sounds close. :(
  11. Where in the control options will I find the UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT movements for the maverick/tv/TGP screen to be able to slew it around?
  12. Not quite sure how to use those yet, Which bomb is the JDAM? Also what is the technical term for the right MFD targeting window so I can find it in my controls to assign it to my HOTAS
  13. What an awesome feeling. Flew a pass over a few transports to identify the targets and set up weapons run. Came back for the 2nd pass. Put 'er in CCIP and readied a pair of GBU 12's. dropped nose in, put targets in the CCIP circle and let 'er rip! 4 transport truck kills with 2 GBU's Made my way to the next waypoint where there sat a tight group of infantry and another one or two transports. Again I made my passing over run to get a clearer picture of the target zone and came back around for my weapons run. This time I dropped a pair of MK 82's and destroyed everything down there. Sure I could have, and probably should have went guns on the 2nd group as it was mostly comprised of infantry and light armor, but I wanted to practice bombing :) Great feeling!
  14. So when I launch the game and pick either a tutorial or mission and hit PLAY it starts to load DCS.exe (instead of Launcher.exe) which is normal but the icon next to DCS is an exclamation mark just like the one I used to flag this topic with. It shows the A10 picture like its going to load but doesnt do anything. Whats the issue with that?
  15. At some point I may, but for now just flying simple missions and getting to and from point A and B its easier without it :)
  16. Very nice, that pic makes more sense to me now.
  17. Alright I Just looked up a picture of the X52 PRO and I think thats what you are referring to. I do not have the PRO version, just the standard X52....
  18. The only thing below the LCD/MFD on the throttle is three buttons, Function, Start/Stop, Reset... is that what you are talking about? no wheel.
  19. Thanks :)
  20. I was just about to make an identical post. Glad this one already exists and one of my two questions has been answered. My other question was where do I find the rotor and engine de-ice switches?
  21. Not sure if I know what you mean by pgUp and phDown wheel on the throttle.
  22. Ah alright, so I need to do it thru my Saitek X52 software. I have so far just been assigning keys thru the games options -> Controls page.
  23. Ah very well. I have set up 013 as a default to test out. Now how would I assign a key on my joystick/throttle to work as a toggle for on/off as the system it self has its own ON and OFF buttons. I cannot assign the same key to both functions in the controls can I?
  24. Wouldnt 013 dispense no measures at all? I thought the first number was how many pulses per cycle, 0 being no pulses at all?
  25. Back with another question folks. I have watched a youtube tutorial on the countermeasures system and it wasn't all that descriptive, just basically said to set up a random amount of pulses, numbers of measures per pulse, etc.. So is there a basic/standard setup for the countermeasures system for MANPADS? Also, once you start launching your flares, what is the standard maneuver after that ? pitch up, roll left or right and turn a 180 and fly the other direction or what?(Of course this will depend on which direction the threat is coming from, so lets assume its at your 12'o clock nose) This has always confused me. And last but not least. Can you bind the countermeasures stop and start button to just ONE button on your joystick/throttle, like a toggle on/off or do you have to have one for on and one for off. EDIT: I know I said last but not least, but I've got just one more question regarding the missile threat system. In the middle of the 4 red lights that determine where the threat is coming from there is 2 rectangle lights. The youtube tutorial video I watched said the top one lights up if the threat is above you and the bottom one lights up if the threat is below you. This confuses me because wont every missile threat (unless launched from another aircraft) would be "below" you, wouldn't it? MANPADS don't launch from above you... unless I am understanding this wrong aswell.
