This one is a bit of a long shot, but for those affected... download and run an App named "Dependency Walker", as there could possibly be a bit of a file mix up present Another is to ensure that the sim has been installed to a directory outside of the C;\ Program Files folder (windows file protection feature does affect smooth running if installed here) and give the sim's root folder Full Permissions through the folder's Properties/ security/ user tab

The Official "Where's my Update" Thread
Wolf Rider replied to Revvin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
cool.. at least you agree the "updates" have been there and lets be honest here... the natives can get angered over anything. :) -
oh well, it was worth a shot have you got the sim installed to its default install directory of C:\ Program Files?

There have been updates in the terrain thread though, Merlin -
just humour me here... do you run an NVidia card? If so, we'll try some settings changes if you like

The Official "Where's my Update" Thread
Wolf Rider replied to Revvin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
yes, I did see that Viper... sadly though, some see it as it isn't. If the $65 level of the digital copy of the P51 has been honoured, that is that level honoured, with the other levels referred to as included, being delivered as each referred to level indicates. "legals" are a scary scary world of wordings Luthier's only mistake was in trying too hard to placate people... and yep, you're right, Luthier could do well to pop in. -
The Official "Where's my Update" Thread

> now that I'm in the correct thread > Viper, your point is taken and taken well However, childish thread in the sense that delivery is estimated at @ September 2014 - did some miss this minor detail? Pledge $1 or more You selected 198 backers Our heartfelt thanks, access to the backer section with weekly development updates, videos, and more, and a special BACKER medal on our official forums. Estimated delivery: Sep 2014 Another responded with: but what about the $65 level, which indicates delivery date of October 2013... Response to that is: It comes back to delivery dates offered on each level, as the references are made with regard to each level. eg the 65 refers to the forty, the forty refers to the ten and the ten refers to the one dollar level -

all's good Revvin... it was a childish thread to begin with  -
aww, how cute... no treat, so tricks instead. Kids and Hallowe'en can be so much fun

I don't know about "fixed" per se, or exactly how old the update is (as I have been down for a while, as indicated I only got back my rig back up and running this morning)... but yeah, my end with my machine in its current configuration has all being good, except for the "head position" and, I don't run mods or tweak files or have a lot of useless stuff on my PC, or bad system tweaks
-
1.2.6.19532 through the update manager as ran on start up this morning. I'm assuming its the latest/ current/ most recently released update? I run only the A-10C, P51 and FC3 modules

Okayyy... back up and running Latest DCS update, using default view and non modified TIR5 profile, all is smooth and buttery. {with and without TIR running} However, there are couple of things though... Keypad 5 doesn't seem to centre view ( A10C) as it should and the "shoulder look" function really needs to be revisited. Basically the function throws the "head" around in the cockpit in a most un-natural fashion {this is with using the default view settings} shots from A10c and F15... P51 seems unaffected TIR TEST not on.trk

Also... (with respect) Ivan doesn't take refraction into account (?), with his straight lines... of which, we all know that the eye does not see in (see in "straight lines" that is), it sees in fields as soon as you look through a plane of glass... you have similar to looking through water (?) => -

I could be wrong, but when trying to spear a fish in clear water from a creek bank, doesn't the spear need to be aimed lower than where the fish appears? Refraction has the fish appearing higher than it really is? Besides which... aiming with the sight is conducted through the crosshair centre? -
@unknwn... Do you have the sim installed to its default C:\ Program Files location? (Your link refers to Vista, so I assume you're running Vista/ Windows 7) and are you running 64bit? The Page File should really be left its default System Managed setting for Vista/ Windows 7 64bit
-
Gotta do for Windows 8 as Windows 9 will more than likely stem from there? The still to come Windows will force hardware upgrades, and if that doesn't work, 7 will eventually become outdated like XP now almost is (and '98/ ME/ Vista is)

The Kickstarter is over. Now the real fun begins!
Wolf Rider replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Congratulations on the success of the funding campaign and wish the team every success in their new venture. Here's to new beginnings  -
Yes it is :)

Running on the Default doesn't affect the inner workings of the TIR any more than setting up a custom profile does. Setting up a Custom Profile just customises the parameters to suit the user, and well worth the going through

You say "might"... "might" isn't will and the only obligation is to those who pledged, those who bought into the conditions stated. If they didn't get any get any pledges on some of the levels listed... they aren't obligated to deliver those levels. Stated in the KS is to honour the level pledged but free to change any level which has no pledge... read back in the thread for verification. Once the KS period has ended, reached and paid out, the conditionals of the KS end... clean slate ensues and that for which monies have been received only to be honoured. SO, if they've promised, to investors, the world for a certain level to develop the product (which is what KS is, a service to garner funding for product development), that promise needs to be be upheld... after which and outside of though, they're free to sell (or not) the developed product to customers as they see fit. What happens in a straight out case of "take the funding and run" or shoddy/ half hearted or genuine failed development... ????????
-
well, fortunately its not either of the two you've mentioned and a drawcard does better in the long run... whether you thinks so or not (doesn't necessarily have to be DCS: level though... it can be FC3 level with AFM :-))

Nah, a WWI era plane as a trainer would be stepping on toes (and so FSX)... A trainer for DCS: WWII, really wouldn't sit nice... it'd have to be a warbird and varied training missions supplied (just like it is now with DCS: World). You want to give 1. the "demo" user, a good reason to get the product and 2. continue with it. That plane would need to be an Iconic one (the P47 wasn't an Iconic plane) Spitfres/ Messerschmits, Zeroes, Corsairs, B17's, P40's were the Iconic planes of the era
