IMO, A high fidelity module should include these details. They are a cool visualisation of the hydraulic system, and are present on other modules (as the hydraulic pressure rises, control surfaces return to their neutral position).

Nearly all of my time in DCS is played with the cockpit pilot model disabled. I suspect the majority of players also play like this, as the pilot's body blocks the view to switches on the left and right consoles. This is a shame, as some modules have detailed and animated models that hardly ever get seen. My proposed solution is for the curser to act like an 'x-ray flashlight' that makes the part of the pilot model the curser is moving over to be transparent so you can interact with the switches behind it. This could be expanded to other parts of the cockpit that obscure switches, like UFCs and the lip under the canopy seal.

pitch axis and roill axis too sensitive
CMDRennie replied to cmbaviator's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I can't remember where I read it, but the resistance on the flight stick for the real aircraft is very high (up to 20kg of centring force at full deflection). This is why it is so sensitive in pitch if you don't add curves to the profile, you're not going to get that kind of centring force with an 'off the shelf' flight stick. The only way to make it flyable in DCS is to use a curve. No, your flight stick will not match the deflection of the one in game, but the centring force of the control input will be more realistic. -
I wish DCS would impliment mirror tech akin to that in IL-2, especially for those using VR or head tracking it is clear that the mirrors in DCS do not behave as thay are supposed to.

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
CMDRennie replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
Well, there you have it. We can all rest easy that the project is still alive. (at least for a few months before the paranoia sets in again) -
I've been getting back into the Gazelle recently and I'm finding that my cruse speed on the straight and level is barely pushing 200km/h, even at max torque. According to the most reliable source of aircraft performance data: Wikipedia, her cruse speed should be around 260km/h. I don't remember the Gazelle being so slow, it's at a point now where one of the fastest helicopters in the world is being overtaken by Ka-50s and Hinds. I know there is allot of work to do on the flight model, but this is making flying with friends a drag.

Best possible outcome: We get a training level module in DCS. Worst possible outcome: TG drop the DCS module to pursue this avenue.

I too have fantasised about a feature like this. It's a common feature in civil flight sims, ether as a mod or part of the core sim and I think it does have a place in DCS. Each aircraft has its own start-up requirements so the responsibility for implementing these features will likely fall to each module developers SMEs to determine; how many crew are needed, what covers and locks are removed at what times, and any bespoke activities needed. I have limited experience as a Hawk T1 technician so for example, when the pilot closes the canopy, the crew take cover under the wing in case the canopy detonation goes off. I would imagine the fight would start at the point where the pilot has just been strapped in. During aircraft repairs, the aeroplane is lifted off the ground. Perhaps this could be improved with the addition of some jacks or a crane (depending on what's appropriate for the aircraft). If these features do come to DCS, FOR THE LOVE OF FLIGHT, DO NOT LOCK THEM BEHIND A PAYWALL LIKE SUPERCARRIER!

I second that sentiment. -

From what I've heard the G suit is so good that sustained 9 Gs is relatively comfortable.

Are there other variations on capabilities depending on the nation they belong to. For example do all T1 block 5s have PIRATE or can this change country to country?

When attempting to join any multiplayer server the game loads in about 5-10 minutes to the Caucasus map (expecting a role selection screen) which I can pan around but will not respond to button/key presses, the only way to exit is to quit the game. Before this I experienced the multiplayer loading screen crashing to main menu and loading to frozen role selection screen ever since the release of 2.5, these issues have left me and 'hundreds' of other players unable to play multiplayer during this time with no fix in sight. I have seen people speculate RAM issues, memory leaks etc. but no fixes outside of buying a new HDD or some lucky breaks. At this point I have all but given up on DCS but it would be comforting to know that somebody at ED has intentions of fixing this problem so far I have seen no action.
