In a nustshell, As you see the lua code, there is a switch on and off and an interface on and off. Once you get the hang of that it is easier to understand.
-
Once lua is edited, you save a copy and you're done, but note I only fly one plane. I've lost more switch bindings in Helios than I want to count :) This link explains how. Some switches are trickier than others. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89226 Good luck with whatever you do.

:) L-39 ride is on my bucket list too! Thanks much.

Thanks very much Ramsay! I enjoy learning about this and how it works. -
L-39 Radio Navigation in the NTTR (how to)
JG14_Smil replied to JG14_Smil's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Thank you for pointing this out. Really need those to enjoy flying with the beacons. I will have the link to the file here very soon. I have added a link (post #2) to a zip file containing the txt file that lists RSBN/PRMG. -
Nope, I've been missing SoftTH since I came back to DCS. I've been following the website and FB but no luck at all. SoftTH was the best thing to happen to multi monitor users.
-
Yes, both ABRIS and Shkval are exportable. Try looking here https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1541311&postcount=68

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\viewportHandling.lua is where you edit to rid the externals you don't want. These are lines that control that sort of thing: purposes = {render_purpose.GENERAL, render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW, render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_OUTSIDE_COCKPIT, render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_INSIDE_COCKPIT} -- set purposes to draw it always I remember you can make it just the way you want, but I just forget how. Someone will help. Good luck,

Exporting one device to two monitors
JG14_Smil replied to splash's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, I think you are the trail blazer here. If you are familiar with the lua file for monitor setup, just try copy/pasting the code for the shkval and use the new numbers. I bet it works. Might be a FPS hit. -
Good one WinterH. :) Mid-50's. Free flight servers sometimes make me feel like I am sitting in a Chuck E Cheese.
-
Great answer, Art-J! Very well put.

Go in the module manager and un check them.
-
I support this idea. Add dismount L-39 gun sight and hood.

Master Server Down?
JG14_Smil replied to JG14_Smil's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
thanks everyone. It should be back up soon. Johnny Rico said it best. :) -
Hello, It is Thursday 7/27. I am unable to connect to a master server. Is it down? Just making sure it is not on my side...

L-39 Radio Navigation in the NTTR (how to)

I can remember seeing a post about roughly estimating QFE settings with known altitude changes. If anyone could remember or find that one it would be very helpful. -
L-39 Radio Navigation in the NTTR (how to)
JG14_Smil replied to JG14_Smil's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Outstanding! Thank you Tarres. I love the flight plan examples and hope to include more of those. I never knew that about the RKL-41. There is supposed to be some bad weather coming and it should allow me extra time to edit the original posts about this. -
Thanks Fred, I forgot all about this post. I'll give this a try soon. I do note the ATC at Groom AFB in the NTTR reports a correct QFE setting. I think it is the only NTTR ATC that works (and it doesn't officially exist) :)

L-39 Radio Navigation in the NTTR (how to)
JG14_Smil replied to JG14_Smil's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
That is a great idea, Fred. I haven't done any advanced functions with the avionics. I'll be happy to write up what and when I learn it. Anyone with info on this is welcome to post it here. -
No problem! That is what this forum is for. :)

Hello, Verify that the power button itself is working. I had this happen once and finally noticed the button wasn't seated as it was supposed to. Long shot, but good luck to you.

I've emptied many a tank, even going bone dry once. The wing tip tanks work just like George explained it.

L-39 Radio Navigation in the NTTR (how to)

I am offering this file here for a friend. It is a beacons.lua for 1.5.7 that has some working PRMG runways. MODIFIED BEACONS: I added a RSBN beacon at Kutaisi as RSBN channel 8. I did not add any more of these. Airfield Runway heading PRMG ============================================ Kobuleti 070 Chan 11 Maykop 219 Chan 36 Maykop 037 INOP Krasnadar Center INOP INOP Senaki 095 Chan 13 Sukhumi 296 Chan 21 Krymsk 220 Chan 26 Mozdok 263 Chan 23 Mozdok 083 INOP Please note: Kobuleti runway heading is 070 and not 078 as I originally posted. -
Answers are all over the place and some are a bit over-ambitious. It depends on how you enjoy your sim flight time. I know you said SP, but there is more to it than that. Narrow down the type of airframe, then think about what you want to do with it (WW2, combat, free-flight, etc.). For free flight aircraft, the L-39 is truly almost bug free. It also has some of the best DCS performance. There are no prop/rotor animations or advanced avionics that slow FPS. Remove the gun sight and you have the single best sight-seeing plane in DCS. Good luck and enjoy,
