Dramatic FPS drop in VR with the last patch
dmatt76 replied to scorpion80's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have the same. stable 45 fps in every module but in Chinook it drops to 25-30, no more. It was much better before the patch. -
Reset is reset - simple as it is This is INSTANT trim, maybe a better word instead of "reversed" is "mirrored" you hold the force trim release, then: - steering of the aircraft is disabled - when you move the stick, the trim position is simultaneously moved in the opposite direction e.g. - you move the stick forward, the trim position goes backward the same distance, and every other way around - if you move the stick from forward to center, the trim goes from center to forward = you have centered stick and trimmed in forward flight - if you move the stick from center to forward, the trim starts to go back to center, you can release it halfway and meet the trim and the stick position at the same place - then you can move stick forward and trim goes to the center - you have neutral trim and you are ready for landing without any harsh pitch change So it is like in the mirror, when you move your hand left and your reflection moves to it to the right Works great while trimming
-
yeah, I included a video how it works in other sim everyone is foribiden to mention here, even it is completely different, so it got deleted... I have the Apache since day one, tried all the options. It works similiar, but when you want go back with the trim to the center it is not so easy in the Apache, because you will always pitch up. Let's hope there are open minded people who do notice good ideas and bring them to DCS too.
-
No, it is not the same. It is not about setting trim when you return to center, it is about trim position working opposite to joy axis while blocking the axis move - it is much more fluent and smooth. Works like magic with centered spring, there is absolutely no abrupt changes in pitch whatever you do like in the Apache now.
-
The big problem with centered spring joystick is when you trim and go back to the center with the stick, you have big jumps in pitch. Requesting a reversed trim action to joy axis while holidng the Force Trim Release. In straight flight, when you have your joystick forward, you press and hold force trim, then you move the stick to the center. While moving the joy axis, it is like you are still holding the stick forward and the trim moves to the place when was the stick while flying forward. When you reach the center position you release the force trim and you have forward flight trimmed with the stick centered without any changes in pitch, the helicopter can fly stable as a rock. I would like to see in the DCS helicopters the reversed axis trim, it would make flying for all the centered spring joystick usrs much better,

OK, they work. They don't work for me because of some mod, don't know which one, but narrow it down to tree fix, caucasus textures and most likely - MH-47 mod
-
I've checked after cold start and in instant action, during rain and sun. Any speed, after park or after off, slow, med, fast - they dont move for me
-
I tried to turn them on and they don't

dmatt76 replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
The biggest problem with getting official is licensing, then ED policy to use only official documentation. And I don't agree that it can't cost as much as Kiowa or Chinook, especially when mods come with such a great selection of additional assets. With the official "not simple" modules you get half cooked aircrafts with just a promise of possible completion in following years. I would rather pay for simple mod and bunch of assets -

Just ask for 60$ in early access and it will be the best deal DCS has had for years! You are the one and only devs who understand, that DCS is not about modules or maps. It is about all the assets needed to create immersive missions and campaigns. -
The map looks great overall, but mostly thanks to a more detailed mesh of the mountains. I can see two major problems - it has definitely too many plants, especially on the mountains - they are evenly put from the very top to the bottom, you really can't find a single rocky ridge, pure rock - everything is covered with plants like under a blanket. Also, the ground texture has weird brown and green spots all over. Again, its hard to find a plain piece of land, it just green and brown spots that you can really tell what brush what used to make them. It need some kind of randomness and more different patterns on the ground.

Are we going to get any bases in Saudi Arabia? Can't imagine a Desert Strom campaign without some air bases in SA, like Al Jouf from which all it began. We don't need detailed region with villages and stuff but at least two air bases in Saudi Arabia would really help to make a proper Desert Storm campaign

Great inside how the skids work -

Nice update, but I think the friction was better before. Now the skids seem more slippery and they bend much more, like a Robin Hood's bow even at gentle touch down. It's like landing on a dowsing rod. -
Canopy & MFD Reflections static and none are the same!
dmatt76 replied to Leonski's topic in Bugs and Problems
Randomly I get strange reflection on the canopy. Seems like it is from kneeboard map, but it can pop up even with the pilot body turned off by default. It is usually present when loading the mission first time after launching DCS, second load is OK, then it is random. The reflection visibility depends on the roll rate RTX 3070 updated drivers These are from Afghanistan runway start instan action mission -
F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod
dmatt76 replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
So, you have FC24, I don't and that's what I am trying to confirm... Does the F-22 work as intedned only with FC24...? It doesnt matter if I have A-10 or MiG-29... I HAD Fc3, I have F-15C installed and cant make the F-22 to fly until I jump in F-15C mission first -

I had FC3, didn't buy FC24, so I only have F-15C now Downloaded the latest 3.0 version and still I can only fly the F-22A if I jump to F-15C first, if not - there is only AI F-22, F10 map if set as player Is this the only way to fly the F-22A now or it works nornally with FC24? -
correct as-is Did something change in AG radar?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Ok, indeed now it is working only in certain modes: PRE, CCRP, BORE - it doesnt work in CCIP and VIS and the AGR page changed... So it doesnt depend on weapon, it depends on weapon mode now. Sadly, I cant see it mentioned in any patch notes... -
correct as-is Did something change in AG radar?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I tested with Mavericks It used to start with AGR forced, but on the right you could choose all the other modes, now it is empty, you need to go back to nav. Before it looked like this -
I've noticed that every time I do cold start, after switching to AG mode, AG radar is only in AGR mode, clicking the AGR button doesn't show other ground modes as it used to. You have to switch back to Nav mode, then click CRM on radar and after that you can turn on GM, GMT and SEA modes. But after hot start in the air, the AG radar is already in GM mode when switching to AG main mode...

correct as-is New fuze option - editor and cockpit
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks! FMU-152 is also selectable for Mk82 etc but I've already seen comments that "what is available where" is not correct now and will be updated in June patch -
correct as-is New fuze option - editor and cockpit
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Ok, I will try to make it simple YES or NO questions I set in ME cluster bombs with airburst 1200 ft. I click fly and I can see on MFD my CNTL setting 1200 ft - precise as I set in ME. - So I assume my computer already knows all the settings? I don't need to insert the same settings again to confirm that? - Still, I can edit on MFD the airburst altitude to i.e. 1500 ft. So will this mess with the attack, because bombs are still set to 1200 but the computer is set to 1500ft? The same with GP bombs - I set in ME M90E4, arm delay to 2 sec and tail fuze AD to 2 seconds - still I can change the arming delays inflight on MFD to i.e 4 seconds. So does it mean it wont affect the bombs? They will still arm after 2 seconds? (I know that Arming Delay really doesn't matter in DCS but as a content creator of detailed guides I will have to explain how it works ;)) - even with FMU-152 as tail fuze you cant change on MFD function delay on GP bombs - only on JDAMs - ist that correct or WIP?
