correct as-is New fuze option - editor and cockpit
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I've just showed you on the screenshots that you can change it... So are the changes a bug? Don't matter anyway? Will be removed in future updates? -
correct as-is New fuze option - editor and cockpit
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I don't get that... What you set in Mission Editor is on the MFD, in the cockpit - so what do you want to tell the computer?? It seems to know everything already Edit means "change" settings and you can still change them inflight - but is it a bug or "correct as it is".... -
correct as-is New fuze option - editor and cockpit
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I have the first, simplest fuze, set 4 and 0 in mission editor and still can change it to 2 and 8 inflight. Cluster - set 300 in ME, then can change it inflight to 1500 or else. I wonder is that correct and new fuzes just give us option to delay detonation to 24h and air burst for GP bomb or something should be not available inflight with the old fuzes... -
Despite new fuze options in mission editor, you can still edit them in the cocpit while inflight, like burst altitude of cluster bomb, arming delays etc. Do they override the mission editor options or will not work? I've noticed that some fuzes add more options but even if you don't choose the FMU-152, you can still change some arming delays in the cockpit. So, what you should really set on the ground and what should be available also on MFD?

Just wanted to share other form of tutorials than YT - step by step guides with pictures. They are in Polish language, but with current auto translate option in every browser you may find it useful in your language too. 8 guides for Phantom II so far and approx 200 for other modules, more to come. http://dcsworld.pl/category/f-4e-phantom-ii-poradnik/

Left pedal no longer required to counter during take off?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Ok. I found this. so it still an issue I think -
After last updates I noticed that Apache does not rotate right when light on wheels, it just bends a little to the right and you correct it with cyclic, but you can easily take off without touching rudder pedals. Before you had to counter that with pedals, it is still neccessary in a Huey, but in Aapche just cyclic is fine... Bug or newer flight model?

Thanks, I was in Nevada in Tonopah It really works with air supply. Still I dont rememeber this being mentioned in the patch notes, and if it is a intentional change, it should be even mentioned in a video...

Since last update I have problems with starting engine from a cold start. Sometimes it is working fine, sometimes after switching ENG start nothing happnes except letters ON on the engine screen on MFD. Ng% does not change. Did anything change in cold start logic or is it bug with certain loadouts? I cannot do it when I set a start from a ramp in the mission editor, I did manage to start the engines after loading instant action cold start, but after a few tries...

Quest 2 - Virtual Desktop Crashes only on the Apache
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Virtual Reality
I changed textures settings to medium. -
I'm running Intel i5 10600 - so, not too many cores to turn off, but: - DCS MT - butter smooth with HP Reverb - DCS ST- butter smooth with Quest VR - DCS MT - unplayable with Quest VR - cable, wireless, doesn't matter. Runs great on ST but not on MT Any idea how? DCS MT issue with this proccessor or Quest issue with MT? Can't figure it out because with ST is so smooth, but I'm missing DLSS and other visual effects like rotor wash...

Hi The manual for WarBRD-D Base says you need to remove the two screws to allow the Thrustmaster stick to twist/rotate... I've read some comments that the rotation is too loose and seems like not really what you want from the stick. and the screws are actually hold the grip in place as intended... So what can be damaged if used with the screws? Are you using it with or without?

Does anyone know what EXP option in CNTL is supposed to do? Wags didnt mention it in the last video. It seems to swap between TGT and SP view while in CNTL page, but what is the purpose?

Don't know if it is a bug or feature If you set your Friendly Filter to OFF on HSD, it still shows donor aircraft, member and all other dissapear.

Very low refresh rate on all MFD/DDI since last two updates
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in General Bugs
Yes, indeed that was the cause. I had DLSS on Quality. With MSAA it's fine. But I think it was changed lately because I don't remember that much ghosting on MFDs when I tested DLSS for the first time -
Is it a bug or a feature now based on SME? On all MFDs, DDI - F-16, F/A-18, Apache there is a very low refresh rate - if symbols, cursor are moving or numbers change, you can see terrible ghosting of those symbols/cursor. Numbers in Apache's MFDs can change very slow, and it affects just some elements on screens, some work fine. It is much worse when your FOV is high and you are far away from the MFDs, it's SOMETIMES better when you zoom in on those screens in the cockpit. I have "1024 every frame" - max setting, nVidia RTX 3070, latest drivers. I have never seen such "effects" before.

I'm trying to figure out how the lines from datalink member to target works - the manual says it is solid line from team member and dashed from donor It doesn't work that way now - I can see lines only from members and sometimes it's dashed and can change to solid or the other way.. - so, is it bugged or dashed means locked and solid missile fired?

Becuase Desert Storm was the biggest air combat operation in the last decades and we have almost all of the aircrafts (at least on blue side), either AI or FF, mod or official, but no F-111! So many historical DS missions you would want to make will be missing a significant part. And I dont think we need dozens of new aircraft. It is worth to think first, how would they fit in DCS roster, how many people would buy them in the first place...
-
It should be a top 1 priority on AI unit list if we cant have FF. It was a workhorse during Desert Storm and it is basicly the only one that is missing completely in DCS...

I have terrible frame drops above any map objects... It is fine when flying above the ground but even a tiny village and some builidngs and frame drops by 10-15 frames, jumping up and down... Nothing wrong with settings or hardware becasue I can fly 30 feet above Cairo and the framerate is rock solid.
