Sioc to replicate Joystick/Keypress commands?

Hey man, if you find something constructive about that way, shout it out here ! many readers don't have the knowledge to achieve that research but would apreciate to use it ! -
Sioc to replicate Joystick/Keypress commands?
C6_Hellfrog replied to memento10's topic in Home Cockpits
if you find an other way, you will certainly gain many reputation points on the forum !!! lOl this is the problem with all commands not assigned in clikabledata.lua I just think there is another option, but I can't test it at this time : use a directX entry and assign that in BS directly, as for a HOTAS button... that mean you need an interface card to emulate DirectX output to PC, but that should work... interest / keyboard emulation ? I don't know ... unless you have many usb sticks from garbage to recycle ... -
TouchPal - Touchscreen Cockpit
C6_Hellfrog replied to Gadroc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1st : find an editor for xml scripts 2d : read and understand how this touchpal.xml is structured 3rd : modify resolution and placement of buttons to create your own profile 4th : use photoshop or other bmp jpg png editor to create edit your own buttons images and use it (place it at the right place inthe touchpal directories, relative to their relative path in the xml file) if all that stuff is far too complicated for you... I think it 's a no go... but it is not so complicated, you just need patience, method and time... -
Sioc code for actions not in Clickabledata.lua
C6_Hellfrog replied to memento10's topic in Home Cockpits
I don't understand your question ... if you use SIOC : SIOC may emulate some keys via the variable 'key emulator' (the last in the list) so it is simplier to use SIOC and send an emulated keystroke . No ? -
Sioc to replicate Joystick/Keypress commands?
C6_Hellfrog replied to memento10's topic in Home Cockpits
common problem on network with SIOC I can't confirm neither negate the fact SIOC may work on network or has to be on the main PC. I think it should be on main PC but I'm not sure. Other bugs : check network check ports in lua files and sioc ini and config order of launch of softwares is important, but I can't tell you what is the good one version of touchpal software import [ if you use it ] , then see Oakes thread for details and comments about merging SIOC touhpal and BSVP if you speek french, I know a user who made a pit with SIOC and BSVP and on network, (but I can't confirm SIOC is on main or not) ; he did it, but he reads and speaks very very bad english langage... it will be difficult to communicate with him directly and many people is in holidays at this time -
3D static objects for DCS-BS
C6_Hellfrog replied to Mustang's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
many thanks, very nice job ! best seen with BS ! -
EDIT in fact the idea to use Gaugecomposer was stopped by the user , he returned to BSVP. the way to extract data from LO with gaugecomposer was different (lua syntax different between LO and DCS series). Idea is good but need a complete rewriting of the softs... Still not managed for the current time. Conclusion : just an idea, need to wait if A10C release impulse some motivation for a new project with DCS lua export syntax... maybe common with BS... still hypothetic...

good work Kpaw ! no much french users here ! english is better for install text -
@ Talisman : an other way is to develop gauges with GaugeComposer, a tool developped for FS and adapted for LockOn by people from a french squadron (3rdWing). One member will try that one soon with a BS cockpit. Then you can interface it with SIOC or IOCP (I'm not totally sure... (I forgot the exact response... I have just asked again to confirm that point and will post later to confirm / correct).... And at the age of LO (before FC2) a specific interface was developped to work on network and balance the CPU load, it was the utility called LOSIOCServer, because people who developped it managed lua and SIOC because they builded pits based on those cards who use this langage, and wanted to network things to limit CPU overload and FPS drops... It worked very fine.... So : it still has not been done completely for BS , but could be done in theory. Maybe some developement to do, but not sure and don't know how much... Nevertheless, those guys who developped that stuff wil certainly upgrade it for DCS A10, and then, it will probably be usable for BS... we still have to wait for A10 delivery and time to update those softs for developpers... probably not before 2011... at least... I have to confirm some points before saying too much false things... I'll post later to confirm... but that point is big point of hope in my opinion for BS pitbuilders...

original post 21/12/2009 second feedback : 08/07/2010 ... simulations optimizations need a a lot of patience !!! thank you for your comment memento !!! besides : original idea is not from me but from another french user : thanks to him !

it should work with matrox triplehead, but i don't know perfs hit about fps with eyefinity (in that last case, monitors have to be full compatible and are expensives)
-
it will work with matrox triplehead or with latests ATI GPU, but you will have the need of expensives multiples graphics cards due to total resolution and a serious FPS hit unless you have latests CPU and agressive OVC with watercooling on excelllent quality motherboard and so on...

many thanks for this contribution !

up : no one ?
-
does anyone know it ? (from base mechanism to joystick)
-
@Hassata : you're not the first with that problem any generic soluce welcomed

a bit of joke in a world of hardness... cockpit building may be very satisfying goal but also very frustrating... therefore sometimes there is the need and a place for such words... sorry for too sensitive mankind
-
nice work ! and nice pics ! continue the good work ! I was still studying that problem of friction brake for cyclic and did not still achieved something satisfaying : protos were : too big, too strong, too soft, too light, never as it should be... if you solved that one, could be very interesting to know about it !!!

details on the french forum follow link on Loubial signature or wait until he translate all that stuff

Hall sensor is electronic compound with different input and output voltage (or ampera... I forgot). If the compound is placed inside a magnetic field, it produce a voltage output modification. the voltage ouput of the coumpound is a function of the angle between the coumpound and the orientation of magnetic field. therefore you have the same type of variation as ouput of a potentiometer is a function of angle of the axel of that potentiometer 2 soluces for assembly : fixed magnets and rotative coumpound or fixed coumpound and rotative magnets voltage of output is parameter of force of magnetic field, which is function of duty of magnets and distance between magnets and coumpound. look at french site for photos, Loubial is not very easy with english translation. It will probably come soon, because he is a perfectionnist, but it will take some time... be patient... I hope that sum up will help you. see also google and wiki for Hall sensors...
-
Look at Loubial project here and on french c6 forum (link in his signature) for really perfect collective and cyclic mecanism using rotative hydraulic dampers... and have regrets, and build a new one.. and sell this one to somebody else... LOL ok I go out quickly.... just joking...

Jocman's Cockpit (will be a long, long work....)
C6_Hellfrog replied to Jocman's topic in Home Cockpits
Win 7 x64 ultimate user : the XP mode is basic and use only generic drivers... it is roughly for non win7 compatible business softwares, not games (generic display driver and so on) running a 32 bits software on Win7 x64 : no problem IF : you install it using the following procedure : right clic on the exe of the installer. select properties select tab compatibility select winxp SP3 and check the box under that check the box for : use with admin rights then SAVE your choices apply it then run your installer then once install is finished, do the same with the exe of your program : select compatibility mode and admin rights. Very often this is enough to have your sfotware running OK hope that will help -

if the export.lua is locked, nothing will go in neither go out between BS and touchpal...
