  1. Hi Andre, Just looking at the JETSEAT FSE in your store. The shipping to Ireland is over 52 euro bringing the price to over 217 euro before tax. Can shipping costs be reduced, as speed of deliver is not an issue. Also what taxes are added and where calculated.
  2. Great job, thanks.
  3. Hence why I have all the DCS modules and likewise IL2. The only way we are going to experience such VR experiences is by supporting the devs in their efforts. It`s already an amazing experience and worth the price, but it has even more great potential with continued development.
  4. I think 4k per eye is possible with the current top end GPU`s 1080ti, 2080 & 2080ti if the software was a help rather than a hindrance. DLSS, VRS etc. is promising as it takes some of the load of the gpu renderers and transfers it to the AI that fill in the pixels especially in your peripheral vision. Dev`s have to be smart with this tech and help the tech do it`s job. The latest oculus connect and Michael Abrash explained the need for AI deep learning. RTX is the start of the tech and possibility of it`s use.We are still hanging on for ASW 2.0 which should be really close to inclusion.
  5. While I`d like a HMD that delivered 8k or even 16k per eye to arrive in the next month, I`d appreciate more acquiring the GPU and software optimization to make it even possible. Until then I`d settle for 4k per eye and proper optimization. Let`s stay in the realm of the possible here and what would be perfectly usable.
  6. Exactly
  7. Yes and my reply was as above. You tried it and didn`t feel it was for you "'horses for courses" and the OP was knocking it before he even tried it. I thought as I said it was self explanatory, yet I am explaining it again.
  8. Nope. Just means there`s horses for courses and courses for horses, and don`t knock anything unless you have tried it yourself. Quiet self explanatory.
  9. Nope, nothing fancy needed, you won`t see it you`ll be in a virtual cockpit. You could sit on a cardboard box if you were a lightweight. The most important thing is your pc, a good cpu & gpu. The sensors can sit on your desk in front of you. If you already have a pc powerful enough, then you have already made the lion`s share of the investment. There are plenty of good deals on the rift or other HMD`s. Likely used versions will appear when the new tech arrives. If you have to upgrade your pc, then the process can become expensive.
  10. It seems you haven`t tried VR to date. So your argument is based on a lack of experience of same, which never makes for a good basis for any proposition. My advice is don`t knock it until you`ve tried it, otherwise no one would experience anything outside their comfort zone. As for steering wheels, force feedback on a Logitech wheel while you are in VR is something I`m sure you would enjoy. My advice is try a VR demo in some tech shop/show and then make an informed assessment of same. You may just surprise yourself. Actually many sim racers have better lap times in VR due to better distance judgement of apex`s and braking points etc.
  11. Have you tried VR?, frankly going back to 2D is a very big step down from the VR experience. It`s like going from the modern games i.e. Battlefield, to the old side scrolling games/shooters. As far as resolution, it becomes less of an issue as you assimilate to being in the world instead of looking through a small window, and perfectly good enough to operate efficiently within the cockpit environment. Next year will see the next gen HMD`s. 2D gaming for sims is the past and VR is here to stay, it`s not even a fair comparison.
  12. I use the rift in DCS, IL2, Assetto Corsa and Project cars etc. Forget about 2D gaming, it`s a massive let down after VR. You`ll never spend big money on a monitor again. Once you fly in VR you will not want to return to 2D gaming. You become part of the environment and the sense of presence is phenomenal. The rift will be the best purchase you`ll make for sim games, but you need a good setup to power it. I currently run an i7 4790K@4.6ghz, SSD, 24 gigs ram & RTX 2080, you pay for your pleasure.
  13. MSAA is a big fps killer, bring on DLSS and let AI do some of the heavy lifting. That and VRS will provide a big boost in performance. We have the tech with under utilized RTX GPU`s, what we need is the software to catch up.
  14. I think your 1.1 PD was too low, you are not going to get clarity with that. I run a PD of 1.4 with the shader mod, MSAAx4 and AFx16. I have found definitely a more smoother experience. For us running RTX 2080`s etc. DLSS would be a big help. We could drop MSAA and get a bump in res quality. The future of VR is in smart tech such as DLSS & VRS to render and fill the peripheral areas of our vision.
  15. Obviously done and tried but it's insufficient. Other aircraft it's a non issue.
  16. Thanks for the overhaul, I bought the Mirage recently and haven't really tackled it's systems yet so I'll wait till you are finished. The one thing I'll say is it's near impossible to read the lettering on the cockpit switch panels in VR. Is there any chance the devs at Razbam could address this and increase the lettering size. Even with a decent PD 1.4 and MSAAx4 on a 2080, I just cannot ID the switches anywhere as easily as on the other modules.
  17. I went ahead and bought the campaign yesterday, and played the first mission in VR on a crowded airfield. Everything seemed fine, and ran ok on my 2080 & i7 4790k. From playing the update I think cpu usage has received an optimisation resulting in better gpu utilisation and smoother fps. I look forward to getting stuck into the rest of the missions, thanks again.
  18. I said elsewhere here, there is an improvement in the smoothness of the VR experience. I`m seeing near 50% usage on the CPU (i7 4790K) and it seems across the cores as per the resource monitor. I`m also using the updated shader mod which I always run. Crowded scenarios seem to run better with less impact on fps. I did the first aggressor mission in the F-5 and it was a definite improvement over the previous stutter fest due to the very crowded Nellis base before takeoff. I had fps in the high 20`s to 30 as I stated up and taxied to the runway. The GPU (2080) was still choking around the 30% mark but improved as the scenario became less crowed. The CPU is definitely being utilized more and lets hope the trend continues and we can max out the hardware instead of being software capped. Setting- all high, flat shadows, PD 1.4, MSAAx4 & Anisotropic filteringx16
  19. I`m definitely seeing more usage across the cores (i7 4790K), up at 50% at one stage and regularly in the 40%+. Smoother in VR no doubt, but still stuck ~30fps in the very crowed Nellis base at the start of the aggressor missions, with the GPU (2080) still choking at ~30% usage. But definitely an improvement in less crowded scenarios. Looks good, if ED can fully exploit the hardware we have it would really be a big step for the VR experience.
  20. Anyone try this in VR, a very busy battlespace is an fps killer. Campaign looks quiet good.
  21. Excellent module and very enjoyable. It puts the L-39 in the shade in it`s versatility, 2x Mk84`s, rocket pods, cannon and A2A missiles in one loadout. The array of ordnance it can wield is impressive, and it`s a pleasure to fly as well as being a little pitbull. A great aircraft to pick and a very well executed piece of work. Count me very interested in your next project . Have you any more recent news on what`s in progress, the Mirage F1.
  22. We live in eternal hope and trust in the fallback of ASW 2.0 to offset the scourge of poor optimization.:music_whistling:
  23. IL2 is great on the res of the cockpits, dials etc, are not an issue to read, even on a lower PD then I use in DCS. Definitely needs some TLC.
  24. 45fps is not a problem, closer to 90 is the trick. I`m running all high, PD1.4 and MSAA x4.
