Just wondering ... were you playing it on world 2.5 ?
-
This decision from them to have some kind of carry-over will have a significant impact on the trust they have from their biggest customers. We have to keep in mind that those who have big bonus points are also their biggest customers. If they feel left behind .... then its a dangerous move from ED. I guess they will take a wise decision here.
-
Actually ... where do we see how much bonus dollar we have? I was not able to see it on the site.... I bought 389$ worth of maps, aircraft and campaigns this year alone. So I guess I should have some bonus point aside but never knew how much...

A dumb pilot unit for downed aircraft (on ground and at sea)
Frag replied to Frag's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hi BadCrc, sorry I am not aware of that thing. Does it requires the installation of new objects or the script calls objects already existing? Does it work in water as well? -
Hi guys, would be great if DCS could have a dumb "Pilot on the ground" and "Pilot at sea" unit that would simply be spawned when a pilot land with a parachute. We could use that unit with the editor/script for rescue operation. I am not looking for something interactive ...but only a unit that would stand there and be referenced. For the sea, if a "floating pilot" is too difficult, we could simply have a tiny life raft with a man sitting in it.

Actually bombing with the F5 is SO rewarding since there are mostly no electronic help. When you finally get a hand of it and get really dangerous with dumb iron bomb ... NOTHING IS MORE REWARDING. And actually everything you learn there can be transferred to other plane, even though they will offer electronic help.

Yeah this is what I thought. So yes if you are talking about the flying feel than yes, personally I think it is done better than the SU-25T. But you know, taste are in nature ... so not everyone have to agree with this. It is kind of personal preferences.
-
I am pretty sure you mean as far as flight model goes since those two birds have completely different goals in mind. The SU-25T is battlefield monster and the L39 is a light attack aircraft/trainer. The L39 is a DCS high fidelity aircraft and the Su-25T is a basic one. The difference is night and day as far as flying goes. The L-39 is a very effective light attack aircraft when put in the hand of a skilled pilot. It is a BLAST to fly in DCS. I strongly recommend that aircraft to newbies (like myself) who want to learn a lot about flying before jumping in the electronic typhoon of more recent aircraft like the F-18. Everyone took different path but here was mine in DCS. - Started with L-39 and got very effective with it and learned A LOT from it! Not much electronic help in there, you start RAW ... everything is simple to understand, but difficult to master. - Then bought the F-5 Tiger, worked on it for few months. What I learned from the L-39 directly transferred in the F-5. - Recently bought the A-10 and the Mirage at the last sale, but did not jumped seriously into those yet.
-
LOLL I liked this one. If you love that "flying feel" (I know exactly what you mean) ... then you REALLY need to try out the L39. Yeah I know its system are even more limited than the F5, but the L39 has a perfect flight model and it is by far the aircraft that gives the strongest flying impression.
-
I personally started with the L-39 ...outgrew it over few months and bought the F5. The F5 is a blast and does not have all the electronic goodies of the F18. You would start with raw controls and limited radar capability, which will force you to rely more on skills than electronic. I am sure you will enjoy every minutes of it. I have many aircraft and the F5 is still the one I fly the most.

LOLL that one really cracked me up :) Nice work!!!!

320$ USD !!! What a bargain! Just passed the order :) I had to call them though, their system did not want to accept my canadian credit card. But they took it over the phone...

Shit that sale ended up during only few hours.

Guys, that is the weirdest thing. After checking you post I was really encouraged and ran to double check it ... to not see those setup again. So I deleted the plane completely ...re-downloaded it ... and guess what. Now they show up. I guess it was a control mix up between that plane and another one. Anyway ... problem solved. At least you guys confirmed me it was there so I knew I had to debug, so thanks for your help! I have all kind of issues with my setup those days. My P51 wont stop losing link to my control. Go figure...

Hi guys, To my surprise, there are no wheel brakes axis in the mirage controls! Is it an on/ off switch in the real one? Any specific reason?
-
Yeah the lighting system is close to unexistent in DCS. Tey have a beautiful world, but lights is the HUGE weakness of that engine.
-
Just tested it and it works perfectly Emmy. You made my day buddy I owe you one. I CANNOT believe that I did not think about this!!!! But to my excuse, inverting the axis in the axis tune make it look like it would be the wrong way. Anyway ... problem solved. Thanks again man!!!

Hi guys, having a lot of fun with the P51. Love it :) I have an issue that I can't resolve. Wonder if I miss something. When I set the "Left Wheel Brake" and "Right wheel Brake" on buttons, I have no issue whatsoever. But as soon as I try to set those 2 functionalities on the AXIS of my rudder toe brake, the wheel jams and I cannot move. I tried to set large dead zone, curvature and even putting the axis in "slider" mode ... always ending up with those jammed wheel. I have CH Pro Pedals, so they are quite standard and I use those with all my other planes as well for the same functionality. I only have this issue with the P51. Any idea?

Hi guys, a friend of mine plays DCS but struggle keeping it updated. He lives in a forested area with limited and expensive dish/satellite internet connection. So you will understand that those few gigs updates are not easy for him to deal with. So I was wondering ... Is there a way I could personally catch those update files for him (I have a monstrous unlimited gigabit internet connection), put them on a USB key, then he would update from this USB key while using DCS_Updater.EXE? I looked around and did not find anything, but I may miss something. Thanks guys!

Ok sound good guys. At least it has its reason to be. I like realism so I will make peace with it :)

Hi guys, am I the only one who hates having the airbrake ON by default at cold start? How many time I forgot those before taking-off ... god knows. Why it is this way? Is it because the F5 is usually left this way to avoid stress on the component? Just wondering why!? That thing just not make sense to me so I wonder what I am missing. The excuse "because the airbrake was on from the previous landing" does not hold since dozen of other switches where ON in the last landing as well ...to find them back in the correct initial position at the next cold start.' Please enlighten me ...
-
This actually would cover all case!!!! This could be a new ACTION in the mission editor ACTION: LIGHT CONTROL AIRFIELD: [Airfield Name] POWER: [ON or OFF] This would be perfect and no logic would need to be implemented by ED ... the mission designer would choose it.
-
Yeah at least until the ATC is fully fixed. The night is underused in DCS since using the airport lights are so problematic, Just turn tbe lights on automatically at night until the ATC are fully redone.

Hi guys, as you know, the VR headsets are quite low resolutions compared to screens. I am using it a lot with the screen and my trackIR to zoom on gauges and MFD. I have set a rotary knobs on my cougar hotas which is linked to "ZOOM VIEW". But to my suprise it does not work in VR!!!!! How to you guys zoom you view on gauges and targets? Am I missing something?

Any editing script or trick to turn on airport lights at night?
Frag replied to Frag's topic in Mission Editor
In the meantime they should always turn on airport light at night so we could use those...
