  1. This is actually very realistic in all modern Helicopters. All modern helicopters have whats called a governor which governs the throttle. This will automatically increase throttle when the collective is raised, and it will decrease the throttle when the collective is lowered. The governor will always try to maintain a constant Rotor RPM. You still need to manually place the throttle in the auto position for the governor to work. Of course if you get battle damage and say lose an engine, you will have to manually place the throttle to the max position. If you lose both engines, you will have to manually lower the throttle all the way to auto rotate. To throttle up you press the "Page Up" button. To throttle down you press the "Page Down" button. Hope this answers all your questions.
  2. Hey GA, I have been following this thread from the start and I just have to say, don't worry about what the three critics in this forum have to say. By the very large amount of people on this forum and others, that have voiced there opinion about how outstanding this video promo is, I would say you have out done yourself, and there is no need for improvement. You certainly have the vast majority thinking this video is outstanding, and that is all that matters. This video is absolutely not boring and I would say that it would appeal to all audiences. I think that the three critics on here are going to still end up buying the game anyways IMHO.
  3. Outstanding work on that video. Very entertaining to watch for the fifth time now. Definitely your best work. Rep up +1
  4. Sorry Case, i didn't even notice the shortcut to the rules on your first post. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I will have to give this server a go.
  5. I have a question about point tallies. Last night I was playing red side on the 104th and I was shooting up a bunch of abrams. Normally I play the blue side but I decided to make a change. It dawned on me during that flight that I was only getting 6 kills per sortie, rather than the usual 12 with my Vikhrs on the blue side. I forgot that the M1A1 Abrams takes 2 vikhrs to kill it. I was just wondering if you get double the points for killing an Abrams, over any other vehicle, since you have to use double the missiles to kill it. If that wasn't the case, I can't see myself wanting to play red side any more. I work just as hard on the red side to get 6 kills with 12 vikhrs, as I do playing on the blue side getting 12 kills with 12 vikhrs. I was just wondering how that was implemented on your server. Thanks.:)
  6. Im having an issue with my copy of Flaming cliffs 2 as well. When I am playing multiplayer, sometimes I like to check my stats while I am flying. Every now and then when I hit the escape button, I get booted from the mission, and then automatically get put into another aircraft parked on the tarmac. This is a really annoying bug. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough that I am afraid to hit the escape button, when I am really far into a mission.
  7. Hey thats a really nice setting. I like that one even better. I had to turn down the overall effects strength to 75 because it was a little too stiff for me at 100 but every thing else is real nice. Good job on that find. Rep up +1.

  9. Same Problem here. No servers showing up today.
  10. Well I reinstalled to a different folder and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help
  11. I found an older post on the same subject, and tried turning off the UAC. That seemed to get rid of the problem. All error messages were gone. When I turned UAC back on, all the error messages came back. I don't like to keep my UAC off.
  12. I just remembered, I think the game crashed before this happened. I can't remember how soon before the error message, that this happened, but I do remember that the game crashed.
  13. I already tried reinstalling it twice. I still get the error message. The only mod that I tried installing was the G940 Led mod, but that was a week ago when I installed that, and it never affected me then. Is there anything else that might be the problem. I never did anything else to cause this error other than playing the game. I finished playing a Multiplayer game and tried to get into the singleplayer gui and the message all of a sudden appeared. Thanks for the quick reply.
  14. O.K., I'm getting the exact same error as socal500. I've been playing for a couple of weeks now with patch 1.02 no problem at all, and now i am getting the same error. It just started last night. It appears when I start the game, and when I press O.K. it goes to a windowed Gui. I can then start a game no problem, but it won't allow me to access the options. I get a different error message when I access the options, and when I press ok, it returns me to the opening screen. I am using windows 7 64 bit I also tried looking for the appdata virtualstore files but I don't have them. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the error i'm getting.

  16. Well, going on 3 days of flying with these settings, and I have to say WOW, much better with a working trim system. I can finally trim to where I want it and take my hands off the stick so I can use the mouse. Flying with a working trim system is definitely much better than without. The slop is 100% gone with these settings. To me that was worth the price of the G940 right there, (even if I had a little bit of a headache at first). Time to get back to flying!
  17. I am very excited!! I just found a way to get rid of the slop completely by accident. I am VERRY happy with my G940 now!! I received my G940 last week and was very disappointed in the slop I was getting with the trim button. I tried a bunch of different settings but none were working. I was fiddling with some settings that others have posted, but none of them got the results I was looking for either. I did a couple of other things and gave up. I then just wanted to play. So I got into a game and after playing for about 2 minutes I realized hey, my slop is gone. I played awhile longer and no matter how many times I trimmed, the stick stayed exactly where I wanted without moving. I wasn't getting the aircraft going all squirrelly anymore either. I don't know what was giving me the results, but i thought I would share my settings with you all and see what you thought. Logitech Profiler settings X and Y Axis Properties Sensitivity 30% Dead Zone 0% Range 80% Specific Game Settings Overall Effects Strength 55% Spring Effects Strength 55% Damper Effects Strength 55% Centering Spring 0% unchecked DCS Black Shark Axis Tune Panel Deadzone 0 Saturation y and X 100 Curvature 0 Force Feedback Tune Panel Trimmer Force 100 Shake 0 I think, (but I don't know for sure), that when you adjust the Shake to 0 on the Force Feedback Panel in Black Shark, the controller gets less confused about the trim. Try these settings and see what you think. Its working awesome on my end. I have the stick set to what I feel is realistic with my real life flying experience. I don't have it all stiff like some other people like to have their settings. The cyclic in a real world chopper only gets stiff when hydraulics are off or when you have lost them, (from my real world experience as a commercial helicopter pilot flying Bells). Thank you Logitech for a wicked controller. I couldn't be happier with my G940 now. :joystick:

  19. Thanks for the replies guys. I decided to get this system after all, and with black shark loaded on my computer, I am getting about 70 fps. What a nice upgrade from my old windows xp system, which I was only getting between 20-30fps. What a difference!
  20. Just wondering if freetrack works with Windows 7. I have just installed it and windows is not recogniziing any joystick emulation.
  21. I am looking to buy a new computer and was wondering how this one will handle blackshark. Windows 7 home premium Intel Core i3 530 2.93 ghz 6 GB DDR3 Geforce 8800GT I am getting it for a good price and would welcome any input.
  22. Interesting, this is the same video that my ground school instructor showed my class to explain mast bumping and how to avoid it. Thanks for posting.
  23. That was a great video. :megalol: I loved the part when you tried to react but BOOM it was too late. I have never had that happen to me. Never once have I spotted a missile coming at me through the schval. most of the time I never see the missiles coming at me period.
  24. Would love to see the apache all the way. Or a cobra gunship. I would be happy with any other chopper to fly to tell you the truth.:joystick:
  25. That was Hilarious!! I particularly liked the dispensing of chaff. ROFL:megalol:
