  1. I'd like the see a comparison with the Slaws. I asked several times here about the TPR's, but was repeatedly directed to the Slaws instead. ( which are now in route to me.) I hope I wasn't misdirected by a few TM haters????? The crosswinds weren't of interest to me due to the composite material, and the "foot off the floor" control style.
  2. Anyone else thinking about building this system? Currently it works with DCS, but we need more "flight simmers" building, to increase interest in additional flight sim plugins.
  3. Hi all! I'm a big VR fan wanting to assemble the most Immersive VR Cockpit possible! I've dived into this in a very big way, even though I have yet to try a modern flight Sim ( or even a racing Sim.) I really don't even need to. I've seen enough YT videos to know, with the right rig, I'm going to love it! Here's the current Plan. This being VR, I don't need a visually correct cockpit, So I've gone with a 80/20 rig as it allows endless adjustments for the the various aircraft. Flight controls mounts can easily be constructed, reconfigured, and moved as needed. The base for everything is the Sim Lab P1 https://sim-lab.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/P1-cockpit-V4-4-e1528996109563.jpg I have purchased the P1, and I'm a Pimax VR backer, so that's all done. I have also picked up a Virpil T50 base / stick with extensions, and the throttle. Lastly, I'm hoping to get my Slaw pedals any day. Next up with be the parts for the simfeedback DIY Motion actuators as seen here...... Finally, I have purchased the Gametrex seat for Tactile feedback, and this will be combined with BK transducers. Anyway, that's the plan. I'll post again after the rig arrives and I start the process. Any advice from you more experienced guys is very welcome.
  4. Hmmmm. Still unsure...................... My situation - New to siming, but jumped in in a big way. I have a 5K+ coming in a few months (late backer) and I'm using the time to prepare for the ultimate sim experience. So far I have bought... Virpil stick, T-50 base, extensions Virpil Throttle Slaw Device RX pedals Gametrix Jetseat with center stick cutout Sim Lab P1 cockpit Pimax 5K+ Still need to update the computer as it's at Rift standards. Need to get I7 9700 Motherboard New GPU 1080ti ? 2080ti? New ram Flight sim / racing software Racing hardware - DD drive wheel, pedal shifter etc Shaker transducers / Amps So still a lot to spend. as you see Do I really want to divert funds while waiting for the 5K+? I'm spending a lot but the money was hard to come by. Still $299 for better visuals sounds like a deal.... I've been staring at the paypal buy button for 2 days now....
  5. Yes, the reports on the forum are very confusing. MRTV ( who's opinion I greatly trust.), is reporting the O+ to have the best visual quality of all current HMD's ( even over the Pimax 5K+.) He's also baffled by some of the negative reports? How can others find the Rift better? Are you guys using at least a 1080TI, or something lessor? Even as A 5K+ backer, I'm about to pull the trigger for this $299 deal but these negative. reports here give me pause? Any here with a 1080TI or 2080TI , and higher end CPU able to report a worthwhile "better" picture quality and good performance with this HMD?
  6. The store was restocked again few days ago. Some things are again gone, but throttles were still there last I checked. This time things lasted longer. They are almost at the constant stock point
  7. Yes it did come, and took 7 days after ir had shipped. Mine wasn't a WQarbird, as I have a T-50 base already. My package was the new throttle with a cover. The throttle is huge and heavy. Just like my women.. ;):D:D
  8. It comes down to how much you can handle spending. At this stage of life I'd rather spent more than deal with plastic play station type controls! I'm new, just getting into sims, and had ordered the WH Hotas thinking it was still TOTL. I quickly learned I was in error, and better stuff was available. I returned the unopened box at a $70 shipping loss, and purchased the Virpil stick, and throttle at more than double the cost ( $1000) I did this without ever holding one, having to going on reviews only. I'm glad I did. These are heavy duty commercial type controllers vs cheap plastic Walmart type stuff. The WH stuff is in between, but is saddled with plastic internal parts. Virpil is currently out of stock, but have a new factory, and restock their store every couple weeks now. They are on the verge of constant stock. That's what I would go with. VKB seems to never ever have anything. I disregarded them after checking the NA website a hundred times......
  9. Thanks for your post, but no need to explain. I'll be happy to have the pedals whenever they are done. Again I was just curious how the schedule was going since some had just received theirs, and it was not even worth bothering you with a email. I would never have posted if I knew that zhukov032186 would call me out for just a innocent question.
  10. What the heck are you going on about? I think you have misunderstood my post and started making assumptions., You should read it again. I was just curious what the current time frame was on recently shipped units.Things can change over a couple months. I was Just curious THAT'S IT! I'm well aware these are low volume hand made items, and I never said I Must have it Now, and I certainly wasn't complaining. I don't need or appreciate the lecture. However, I will apologize for posting this question in your thread.
  11. So the wait was 1 month total?
  12. Yes, I see I was in error. Sorry! :)
  13. Spend 2 days reading all 221 pages, and had to have this, I just ordered a SE model in black! Yeah! How do I get the reduced price deal on a second license?
  14. I'm on the list and was given a 2 month time frame. I still have around 3 weeks to go but I'm getting restless. Was hoping that someone reading this that may gotten theirs shipped in the last week or 2, and could tell me their order date. Just wondering if the 2 month wait is still on track or has varied one way or another????
  15. I guess experiences vary. Mine just made it through customs in 45 minutes.
  16. If you decide to do something with the goofy red /yellow button , please document it!
  17. What the? I'm in Florida, and mine was picked up on the 29th too, but has only made it to Hannover? It still has another euro hub to get to before the Jet!
  18. I got mine just in time. So now that's over with, I have a couple questions. 1. I like the smooth handle inserts better. Has Virpil ran out of these inserts? Can anything be done on new orders? Do the knurled inserts look any better in person? Are they a metal, or plastic insert? 2. That ugly red / yellow button! Has anyone figured out a way to make it go away? In the pics, it seems to destroy the looks of a otherwise fine looking throttle. I really wish it wasn't there. Does it look just as bad in person? Can the outer ring be removed at least?
  19. OK, guys. Looks like I need to stick with the Vipers for now......
  20. But why? Have you been able to try both? I'd hate to overlook them just because their Hotus has fallen behind, as these pedals seems to be another world for them. The pendulum action "appears" much more realistic to me than the rotational action of Slaw and those others. To complicate matters. it appears BRD still sells a all metal pedal "Kit" that "used" to be much cheaper? Not sure of his current price, or if it's still available?
  21. What was the cost? Shipping? How about the wait?
  22. I have a set of Slaws on order, but the new Thrustmaster pedals look great. The movement seems even more realistic. What to do?:dunno:
