  1. I appreciate the explanations in this video, since I bought the F5 myself in this sale. Looking forward for the video series.
  2. Wann gibt es denn den nächsten Tacview Sale? Also wenn man für die Advanced Version wirklich nur 15€ zahlen muss, wäre ich auf jeden Fall dabei.
  3. I am not sure any more which tacview files belong to which bug, because I tried this mission 15 times, but I think it should be this one: https://ufile.io/01kywipt Btw. in that tacview replay you can see that I got distracted and missed the first waypoint after takeoff, so I had to turn until I was close enough for the next trigger, but in the end that worked for me without problems. Anyway, one of those bugs I was talking about happens at the end of that trackfile, when I try to get to the second waypoint of the landing pattern after my touch and go landing. I have noticed too late that my heading was not quite at 040, which did not terminate the mission, but it caused me to deviate from the waypoint position. Also I did not make the turn sharp enough after the first pattern waypoint, so in the end I had to fear that I might miss the next waypoint. From my previous attempts I know that if you are too far away from a waypoint the triggers will not work correctly. The FE however only cares about your heading, not about your position. At the end of that trackfile I had to deviate from 040 to roughly 350. Maybe that was not necessary in order to get close enough to the next waypoint, but I wanted to make sure that it will work. Unfortunately this was the reason why the FE terminated my mission, because my heading deviation was too big. I think in real world the FE would also take your position into account like any good air traffic controller would. So I suggest that in this mission either the restrictions of the heading deviation should be lowered or the FE should give you headings dependent on your position to the next waypoint instead of the hard coded ones. After a few more attempts it seems like I have finally made this mission, but the FE did not give me a quality rating after saying "let me confirm your shutdown procedure". Maybe it is because I have damaged the gear of the aircraft when I landed too hard. My end score was 100, but still I think that this is another bug, when the FE does not give you a rating after shutdown.
  4. I have a bug that forces me to fly for ever to heading 120 after touch and go in Batumi. When I try to deviate from 120 the FE yells at me, that I have to keep the 120 heading. And there is no end to this. Even when there are mountains in front of me. Also the FE tells me that I am off altitude when I am perfectly on the ILS glide scope on 2500 feet a few miles away from the runway. What the hell is his problem? Besides the off altitude problem he also complains if you are off course no matter where your actual position is or if you have to compensate for the crosswind. So if you have to change your heading a bit in order to get to a waypoint, then the FE is too stubborn to understand that. Really annoying when this bug terminates the whole mission! Furthermore in some cases he claims my speed is too high for landing even when my angle of attack is correct such that the green circle turns on. So I am sure now that it is defnitely not my fault. Probably I have really bad luck that I am often triggering those bugs. :D
  5. Schade, ich hätte sonst auch mitgemacht. :(
  6. Update: I tried the practice mission a dozen of times now, but the FE even fails my split S which I am doing perfectly due to tacview. Is it maybe because I did not turn on those aerobatic smokes? I have googled and searched in the manual how to use that silly smoke, but I cannot find anything useful. My maneuvers look even better than in the video linked in this thread. So I wonder if there is anyone who can complete this mission in the current DCS version or if there is a severe bug. Update 2: I finally made it, but only because I could do the barrel role and the split s successfully. I found out that my split s is only rated as successful when I initially keep my plane leveled for a few seconds longer until the FE says "Good." It is not sufficient when you start your split s directly after the FE tells you to start it. So this is why this mission is so extremly frustrating, because you do not know which little detail can fail your test. More explanations and immediate feedback from the FE could solve that problem. Interestingly I always successfully complete the 3 maneuver series in the end of the test, although I never manage to make at least three successful maneuvers in the first half of the test. That seems kind of illogical to me or maybe some triggers are weird.
  7. It is fine to keep the campaign missions just as difficult as they are (as long as the FE tells you immediately when you do not have enough points to pass the mission instead of waiting after shut down). However, the practice mission need some changes. It has a bit more dialog like you said, but the important feedback is still lacking. Also I would like to be able to repeat certain maneuvers during the practice mission. For example you could add more items in the radio comms menu so we can tell the FE which maneuver we want to practice next. That would a huge improvement imho.
  8. Copying is not that much of an issue for me, but changing the directory file of the ME is harder, when I have to do it every time I want to switch between the A10C mission folder and the dedicated mission folder in my Save Games, which is in a totally different file directory. Anyway, now I am able to access the practice missions. Thanks!
  9. Ok, thanks. So I have to copy the missions into my Saved Games folder in order to access it in the mission editor.
  10. Even though this mission is very interesting, it consists of 90% pure frustration. The reasons are The FE does not tell you why you have failed a maneuver. Was it too slow, too much heading/pitch deviation or whatever? Without feedback I cannot improve myself. Actually I fail some maneuvers even when I think that I did it perfectly right. So I would like to know what went wrong in the eyes of the FE. The FE does not give me enough time to get prepared for some maneuvers. E.g. after the so called 4-G turn, which drains a lot of speed, you have to do the Immelman-turn, which requires at least 280 knots. I always have to make haste and dive very quickly in order to get enough speed for the Immelman or else he will say that I have failed the maneuver before I even started it. It takes a long time until you can get to the interesting hard maneuvers, because you have to do the easy stuff first. I would like to see the easy ones in the 6-th instead in the 7-th mission. The FE does not immediately tell you after the end of the maneuver series, whether you have performed good enough to pass the mission. Instead you have to wait until you have landed and shut down the aircraft, until he slaps you in the face with an unqualified rating. I kind of feel fooled, when my landing + shut down was for nothing. In between the maneuvers the FE often remains silent for a very long time. So I do not know what to do in order to get to the next maneuver test. I just fly around for a long time until the FE starts talking again. This is frustrating even though I am using the time acceleration. I hope these problems get addressed in the next update, because this mission is too important for the campaign to be failed or to be skipped just because of bad triggers.
  11. Hello, I am not able to open any folders in the mission-tab of the A10C. How am I supposed to use the practice missions? I am using the Steam-version of DCS.
  12. Adressing the following problems would make Jester much more practical to use: When Jester has no contacts on the radar at the moment you ask him to lock an enemy, he will disregard your order, even if a contact will occur one second later. This makes it much more unlikely for Jester to lock something up. So instead I would want to be able to turn on or turn off a search mode for Jester, where he constantly tries to lock up enemies while the AI search mode is on. Actually I would want to tell Jester what he has to do in general instead of micromanaging his actions. E.g. I would like to tell Jester to search for a general direction more often instead of micromanaging his radar azimuth and elevation, because that is too much workload for the pilot in stressful situations. Instead of reporting every single contact Jester should report them in one sentence, if they are located close to each other. So instead of saying "Bandit Bra 240 5 miles, Bandit Bra 241 5 miles, Bandit Bra 241 5 miles" he should simply say something like "Three Bandits Bra 240 5 nm". Another problem caused by the previously mentioned one is that sometimes Jester makes so many reports that he has to cue up other more important ones. He should prioritize them better. Also he should omit reports that are outdated, e.g. when he lost lock 10 seconds ago, then he should not mention it. In addition there are further problems, that are not the most important ones, but they can be still annoying at times: Jester's reports for a missed missile come way to late. It would be better to omit this or make that report come earlier. There should be an option to turn off the context menu. I have tried to work with it, but it can be hard to predict the behavior of the context menu. Jester turns off my TID too often or for a very long time during combat. Maybe it happens when he uses the TV or something, but I see no useful reason why he does it. I mean sometimes he turns off my TID screen while being silent for a while doing nothing useful, telling me no useful information about the bandit he might see on his screen. Maybe someone can explain me, if there is a good reason for this, but to me it seems like Jester is not doing it very well. When I set certain things in the RIO's cockpit myself, then Jester changes it, even when it is not part of his current task. I would suggest to add an option to disable Jester's ability to override settings in the RIO cockpit made by the player unless he is forced to do it for one of his tasks.
  13. Thanks for the great campaign and thanks for the promised update! Realism is always better, even though for me the 2 minute shutdown is not a real problem: You just put your flaps and airbrakes in the neutral position, turn off the engines, then the battery and then work your way from left to right until all switches are in the default position. For me it takes even less than 90 seconds to do it. :)
  14. Even on average skill the AI cheats are ridiculously strong. Is it possible to nerf the AI by editing some game files? It is really frustrating when your skills are not rewarded, just because the AI cheats are overpowered. They can pull extrem hard Gs and they can keep a much higher speed than their aircraft limitations. At least on average skill I would like to have an AI with somehow authentic limits.
  15. Hehe, ok I will give it a go.
  16. I see. So which of the campaigns should I try first? The Basic Flight Training seems a little bit too basic, so maybe I should take the Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification campaign.
  17. Ok, now I need some advice for myself. I want to buy the A10C even though I usually fly air combat missions. So which campaign would you guys recommend for the A10C to get me going? Is there a fun way to learn this thing?
  18. Great mod! What if I create a mission using this mod? Will other users without your mod be able to play that mission? Edit: I just wondered if you could add Combined Arms support for WW2 AAA units like Flaks. That would be awesome.
  19. I love the historical context in the music. One voice seems to say "Links um, hierum, hier ist Nagellack". :D
  20. The flying yes, but the gunning no. At least for me and for beginners it can be pretty hard without a radar aided reticle.
  21. My internet speed might be too slow, but I can try to join that server. I just bought the Asset Pack along with the Normandy Map and FW-190D. It is the hardest aircraft I had so far, but I am starting to understand, why WW2 in DCS is so amazing. Other WW2 sims almost seem to be arcadish compared to DCS.
  22. Aircraft like the Viggen, MiG-21, MiG-15, F-14, etc. are very interesting and worth their money, but they are not suitable for beginners. So getting something like the Hornet or FC3 is probably one of the best choices for beginners. I would actually recommend the Hornet, because you do not have to keybind every functionality due to the clickable cockpit and once you are done learning the basics, there will be still plenty of room for learning other features.
  23. Is there any special reason for this poll? Are you planning to create a WW2 server or any missions?
  24. I just bought the MiG-15 and I was wondering if it could benefit from the WWII Assets Pack. Unfortunately the B-29 is not included in it, but maybe other objects from this pack could fit well with the Korean War Era. How do you guys think about this?
  25. Well, if the price for the Vega 64 drops at around 300€ in the following weeks, I could take that instead. Yeah, but the 1050 has always been a rather low budget card. Now I am ready to buy a mid or high budget card. As long as the FPS do not drop below 40 in DCS, I will be quite happy with it.
