Is ED currently working on a fix for all replay track issues or was this patch only a one-time trial to fix it? Btw. I wonder if bugs in the tracks are caused by a slow processor. The replays in the videos of Growling Sidewinder seem to work perfectly. Maybe it is because of his PC system.

Blaming Razbam for their past mistakes (which they might correct in the future) is ok, but you should not blame them for the flight characteristics of the real M2K, because they cannot change reality. Professional pilots have confirmed that Razbam's flight model of the M2K has reached a study level quality, so when you are criticizing their flight model you basically criticize the real world Mirage as well.

Also bitte keine Äpfel mir Birnen vergleichen!

I think you can only find it in the RIO cockpit on the right panel.

Thank you for your respond Ironmike! Once the AI issues are gone, I will be very satisfied with this module. :) Actually it would suffice to add in a mode for Iceman, in which he keeps all settings of the cockpit the last time the player left it. E.g. if Iceman would not change the autopilot settings, then the player could simply use the orbit function of the built in autopilot, before he goes to the RIO seat to use the Lantirn himself. Or when you are in a turnfight, this mode would let Iceman keep the player's stick and throttle setting in order to sustain that turn, while you are able to go back to the RIO seat for a few seconds. Btw. you could call that mode the Freeze-Mode. It would go well with Iceman's name. :D I was not referring to Jester's ability keeping a lock. I meant the problem, that Jester is often not able to lock targets by himself when you order him to do so. The reason for this problem is probably, that in the moment you tell Jester to lock something, he checks if there is any contact on his radar or else he fails to do so, even when a contact appears just a few seconds later. I suggest that instead there should be a lock mode, in which Jester is constantly looking for contacts and locks them up until he got a bandit. Then the player would not have to give the lock command over and over again until Jester finally locks something.
-
But holding the bank angle is not sophisticated at all. Even if it was, I would be happy, if Iceman could at least hold the position of my joystick and throttle when I go back to the RIO seat. Actually I do not care if Jester could control the lantirn some day. He even struggles to lock enemy on the radar, so I do not have much faith in him working the lantirn. All I want are simple but helpful features for Iceman and Jester that are currently missing.
-
Iceman should at least be able to hold the bank angle and altitude. This is something that many autopilots can do and it would be sufficient for using the lantirn when you go back to the RIO seat yourself.

The LOD (level of detail) helps to save performance by decreasing the mesh complexity of objects that are further away. Usually this is a good thing, but I think DCS should allow aircraft to have much more level of detail than less important objects like trees or buildings, because it is very important to spot aircraft in a distance without having to zoom in. After flying hundreds of hours in DCS I often observed how the LOD decreases the visibility of aircraft too much. You can see the effect of LOD by zooming in and out. I found out that there are certain zoom levels, where the LOD significantly increases, if your zoom passes that threshold. In that case the shape of an aircraft from a few miles gets significantly much thicker and you can see it more easily, but when you zoom out just a little bit below that threshold its shape gets thinner and much less visible. So that is a proof for me, that the LOD worsens aircraft visibility too much, even though in my graphics setting the visibility distance is maxed out. In my opinion ED should apply extra rules for aircraft (and helos) such that their LOD decreases much slower than other objects with increasing distance.

BFT12 Issues - Primarily Timing
Tiramisu replied to ESzczesniak's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
I took off very quickly and I arrived in waypoint 3 even before 6:30. Then I rejoined within a short time. So I do not think it was my fault. You should test this mission to see what really happens. Anyway, after hitting the 13th waypoint the FE told me "Climb to pattern altitude and contact the tower to enter the landing pattern". I thought that for some reason I had to land instead of going to waypoint 15, but the FE was only making a very misleading call, which failed my mission. On the next try I made it to Kobuletti, but then the FE gave me a wrong description where to park. In the end I got stuck in some building and could not taxi any more. This lead to another frustrating fail of my mission. Is it even worth completing this mission? It is not hard, but it lasts too long and the FE gives you misleading information. -
Latest Benchmarks - Intel vs AMD
Tiramisu replied to m335's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok, so you can see many popular benchmarks like in Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, etc. Is it possible to place DCS in between some of those benchmarks for the CPU or GPU performance? When I am watching benchmark videos I can hardly tell how it will be like in DCS or even DCS in 1-2 years. -

Is it possible to compare benchmarks with DCS? -
However, as a mod creator for the Caucasus and Persian Gulf Map you are probably limited to servers without integrity checks. :D For me another limitation is the Ping. The best Ping I can get is something around 120-150. Other servers are even worse for me. So I am only playing in singleplayer until now.

BFT12 Issues - Primarily Timing
Tiramisu replied to ESzczesniak's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
I should have read this thread before trying the mission, because I am having exactly the same bugs. My campaign should be up to date, since I installed it a few weeks ago. It seems like in the practice mission the FE gets the timing right, but not in the real training mission. Maybe it is because he has problems to circle around waypoint three and then get to the next waypoints in time. For me he gets to waypoint 4 too early. Maybe it is some AI issue caused by ED or maybe it is caused by faulty triggers, but the FE clearly does his job wrong. -
This is the first mission I finished with a qualified rating. :D Btw. the distance to waypoint 4 is very long. You need enough initial speed to get there in time. 200 knots initial speed is a bit too slow.
