PL-2B for MiG-19, PL-5EII for MiG-21bis please
J-20 replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Wait, they want to nerf a missile for fairness?? This is flight simulation not RPG MMO. Realism over fairness is the rule. I remember a while back those NATO boys were making comments like "Red force can't make fighter worth a sh*t". So now we got a Red fighter that is better than NATO fighters in DCS, and they want to nerf it just to maintain their feeling of "better than you"?? That make sense. Beside, if any missile that need to be nerfed, it would be AIM-9X and AIM-120C. -
Wait, is this the same guy who got a thread banned the other day due to "Spy work"?? There is no way something as advanced as J-10C were be allowed to be made into a DCS, unless Deka wants to be arrested for treason and leak state's secret. You want other's "state secrets" just because you are "bored"?

How does that make MiG-21 OP? MiG-21 was used against fighters like F-4E with sparrows, on top of that, MiG-21 has no look down shoot down capability with a RWR that basically tells you nothing. Besides, PL-5EII's performance is only at about the same level as the AIM-9L/M. Right now F-5E has AIM-9M, and we didn't hear anybody saying F-5E is OP. Besides, OP only happens to game. Simulation focuses on realism, not fairness.

Yes, Chinese J-7III uses PL-5EII as well as PL-7 (magic 550 with an Chinese all aspect seeker) Many exported J-7 can also carry Magic 550-II and various AIM-9 (mainly L,M and P variant)

What's wrong with another MiG-21? Especially if it has a Doppler radar, and helmet sight, and better missiles, and a better engine, and a double delta wing for better maneuverability.

Somebody made a 3D model of J-8F. Maybe we can integrated into DCS in the future. https://grabcad.com/library/shenyang-j-8ii-fighter-1

I understand that you wish to have some war proven jets. But why waste Deka's resource on a jet that has little difference compare to the Soviet variant. We can ask other developer teams for Soviet jets. Here is the data I gathered, in Soviet, MiG-21 variants can be categorized into 3 stages. The first stage had the smallest airframe. The most prominent variant were MiG-21F, MiG-21F-13, MiG-21P. Those ones are mostly day fighters has no radar (except MiG-21P), and had shortest range, slowest climb rate and best maneuverability amount all MiG-21 variants. The second stage had larger airframe. The range and climb rate was increased at a cost of some maneuverability. Those variants are all weather fighters as well. The most prominent variants include: MiG-21PF, MiG-21PFM, MiG-21R and MiG-21S. The last stage has the largest airframe with best range, climb rate, but they are the least maneuverable by comparison. Those variants include MiG-21SM, MiG-21MF and MiG-21bis. Since we already have a MiG-21 from the 3rd stage, why not requesting for a MiG-21 from second stage like MiG-21R or MiG-21S. Just don't request it from Deka team, let's reserve Deka team for Chinese planes. As for the J-7, the development also has gone through few stages. 1: J-7 series This is almost identical to the MiG-21F-13 series. 2: J-7I series (F-7A for export) upgrades and optimisations of J-7 series. New pylons for Chinese missiles like PL-2 series and wing fuel tanks. Better ejection seat Better engine WP-7II New IFF 3: J-7II series (F-7B for export) further optmisation of J-7I airframe New centre pylon for 720L belly tank. WP-7II block 2 engine. Flair and chaff launcher ECM 4: J-7M (F-7M) air-guard The most built model. Exported to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Iran. HUD and data computer from UK Sky Ranger 7M ranging radar New on board ECM Encrypted radio 4 wing pylons instead of 2 (From this point onwards all J-7s have 4 wing pylons) WP-7BM engine LJ-2 RWR The domestic version called J-7IIM, capable of carrying PL-7, PL-8 and PL-9. 5: F-7MP sky bolt series. Basically a J-7M with a search radar. Designed to outperforms Mirage 5 in every aspect and specifically for export only. Martin-Baker Mk 10 ejection seat. New IFF and radio. Better oxygen supply system. Grifo-7 radar. Unlike the development of MiG-21 in Soviet, all those different airframes listed above have roughly the same size, because PLA was unwilling to sacrifice maneuverability for speed and range. 6: J-7III series. China obtained some MiG-21MF from Egypt. After study the airframe, China decided that the radar and avionics from the MiG-21MF are inadequate. So they developed their own radar and avionics specifically for this airframe. JL-7A mono pulse radar with look down shot down capability WP-13FI engine. KL-11A auto pilot HTY-3 ejection seat Type 481 data link 930-3 RWR (far better than the ones in the MiG-21MF) HK-13A HUD PL-7 and PL-8 missiles Only about 4 to 5 squadrons of those were made, because once again, Chinese didn't like the idea that MiG-21MF airframe sacrificed maneuverability. 7: J-7E series After Chinese felt unsatisfied with J-7III airframe, they went back to the smaller airframe and developed a new double delta wing to further increase the maneuverability of J-7. This variant has only ranging radar. It's export variant known as F-7GP was well liked in the export market. 8: J-7G series Nations which purchase J-7E really like the plane. In fact their feedback were so good that China decide to make a domestic variant of J-7E of their own with a Doppler radar called J-7G. HOTAS control A Chinese derivative of EL/M-2032 Doppler radar specifically designed to fit the nose cone of J-7G with a search range of 60km. New HUD with SMS Can carry PL-8 and PL-9 missile Further info:

As far as I know, there is no F-7G has ever been made. Because those countries which want to purchase fighter jets from China are either too poor to afford a proper J-7G and had to settle with F-7GS (cheap version of J-7G), or they are rich enough to get themselves some JF-17. That's why we need J-7G
-
It's not possible. Because unlike the J-11, it is not just a simple upgrade of Su-27. J-15 was actually developed from the T-10 prototype. So there may have some internal difference between J-15 and Su-33, such as central gravity etc.. Further more, J-15 has a completely redesigned Chinese indigenous avionic, radar, countermeasures, ECM, and weapons.

F-7B is not distinct enough from MiG-21F-13. What we need is the J-7G. It is very much a new design on its own right.

L-15B, a wishlist and suggestion for future modules.
J-20 replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Well, I'd say an aircraft with a PESA radar is going to be very advanced. -

I know what you guys mean. But that's precisely my point, this thing is NOT really a trainer but a multi-role fighter that can be used to train people. -

Yep, passive electronically scanned array  -
Dear Deka team, please consider making this wonderful jet in your future module. This is a Chinese designed jet trainer called L-15. With so many jet trainers we already have, why shouldn’t we get a new jet trainer? Well, because this will be a fun package for a whole family. and the performance of this jet is so good which allows it to do jobs which cannot be done in other jet trainers. Please allow me to explain. 1. Flight performance as a fighter: Even though all those jet trainers we have in the DCS are designed for training fighter pilots. However, you cannot use those jet trainers as a fighter in combat, because they just don’t have the speed or climb rate for that role. However, if you take a look at the flight performance of the L-15, you will see it has a better climb rate than F-5E, and with slightly less top speed and slightly more service ceiling compare to F-5E. 2: Avionic, sensor, and weaponry. The cockpit looks very similar to the JF-17, therefore, for those who had purchased JF-17, you will spend much less time learning your way for this module. In this trainer, we will get a PESA radar, which if made, will be the best radar in the entire DCS. For air combat, It supports modern BVR missiles like the SD-10 which we are already familiar with. Many modern jet trainers often brand themselves as “light attacker”. But let’s face it, what can they do as a “light attacker”? With their unguided rockets and bombs? And they don't even have a RWR, how are they going to survive in the modern warfare without RWR. But L-15B has a modern RWR similar to the ones in JF-17. And the L-15B can carry a variety of precision bombs like the LS series laser-guided bombs as well as modern ATGM HJ-10, which was only introduced in 2015. That’s going to make L-15 a more capable attacker than Su-25T. On top of that, it can carry the TL-10 antiship missile. That’s right, you can use this jet as a maritime tactical bomber. Although TL-10 only has a range of 20km, that’s enough to deal with many corvettes out there. I have a friend who purchased L-39 and used it to train his little brother. But after that, his brother went to pilot his own fighters and the L-39 was left untouched since them. Because traditional trainers had little of offer beside being a trainer. But this jet combines trainer, fighter, attacker and tactical bomber all into one package. So after you trained your friend You won't be able to neglect it and let it collect dust in the corner. I have also been trying to get more of my friends to join the flight simulation. However, a few of them joined. Because flight sim is such a big commitment, you have to really spend a lot of time to learn it and practice it. Few of my friends can commit that much time. But many of them are willing to learn the weapon part so they can be the co-pilot if I have a module like F-14. With L-15, after you use it to train your friends and family, you can still ask them to be your co-pilot and let them control your AG weapon for you as you pilot it into the combat zone and enjoy this jet as a twin-seat multi-role fighter. Pls remove data cartridge insertion from autostart (NOT A BUG)
J-20 replied to DarkStar79's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Definitely no~! This is a flight simulation. The more realistic the better. -
I was researching on JL-9G earlier and found this website. It shows picture of JL-9G's cockpit and MFD with symbols look like PL-11. Is it true that JL-9G is capable of BVR fighte, and PL-11 is still being offered to the export market? If so, please consider JL-9G for the future module. If there is no BVR for JL-9G, then nevermind. This is where I found it. https://thaimilitaryandasianregion.wordpress.com/2015/11/01/jl-9-jianlian-9-trainer-light-attack-aircraft-china/

But where are you going to fit your radar then? lol I prefer those shoulder cannons like the Su-27 and F-15.
-
I have watched some videos made by "Growing Sidewinder". He often hides between mountains to avoid BVR missiles and the X band radar of the western fighters. Once enemy goes into the glen to look for him, he would get into a close range combat. And if you showed up behind your opponent, you can save your taxpayer a heck load of money by switching to guns. Do you have the open beta version of the game? Have you tried to do a cannon dog fight? If you have, is it still doable?
-
Thanks for the reply, mate. I have also heard similar claims. But that just seems to be a bit odd. Because 2 to 3 bullet from the cannon can sometimes knock out a fighter plane. But what can a 23mm cannon do to today's ground targets in a realistic environment (with SAMs and AAAs, etc). Even without SAMs, and AAA, it would have a hard time penetrate anything beside supply trucks. And the modern IFV's cannon can very much act like an AAA.

Awhile back, I remember seeing this guy talking to the Deka team on their facebook page. He showed us some photos which indicated that the J-11A has another MFD on top of the old one. When the Deka team saw those photos, they claims that the new MFD is actually a GPS display. I had saved those photos, please have a look.

Hi guys, since I don't have the open beta version of the game, I have been reading the quick manual. It says that the cannon of the J-17 is "negatively mounted". Anyone know is there a reason for that?

Well said
