  1. FYI - I finally got around to the Win11 upgrade, and no need for any kind of process manager as far as I can tell. No sign of the demon lags like I was seeing before... So as much as we might love to hate on Win11 it at least does this better
  2. I use SmoothTrack: Head Tracker by John Goering, making use of a mobile phone as the camera/processor. Coupled with opentrack I get good quality tracking with no need to attach things to my head! Not affiliated, just a big fan. Been using it for a while now…
  3. I’ve tried to use the lowest polling rate the mouse supports and still got the issue. Overall the ecores tweak is great! It has removed the long pauses during flight which are a real immersion killer and really painful at critical moments. So I wouldn’t go back to that… I guess I’ll report back once I’ve upgraded to 11. Thanks for the suggestions all
  4. Still on windows 10. Will have to bite the bullet eventually Yeah I saw something about mouse polling rates. Need to google mine, it has 4 levels but doesn’t explain what they are >< Maybe win 11 will just fix it? Urgh. The amount of decrapification I’ll have to do.
  5. I have for a while had issues with DCS locking up for multiple seconds every so often. It would play fine on my settings for most of the time, but then it would just stop for anywhere up to say 10 seconds, and then come back and run fine again. Not the usual micro-stutters that all my searching turned up. But anyway, I tried the "process lasso" (I'm actually using the open source Process Governor tool) and it has resolved the random lock ups! Huzzah! Except... I now get a modestly annoying issue, only in the main menu screen, whereby the mouse locks up and lags/stutters about. I can navigate just with difficulty, and once in-sim the mouse works fine. Not the biggest issue, but still annoying. Anyone else seen this / have any ideas? For whatever reason disabling the ecores seems to be the culprit.
  6. To follow up on my query, I feel slightly less silly now I’ve seen the discord instructions…. When I purchased directly from ASC I get emailed what was called a license key. The instructions say to redeem a voucher, and the redeem voucher page warns “do not enter license keys here”. Perhaps the emails should call these things vouchers, as that’s apparently what they really are
  7. Ok, thank you! That’s what I was wondering. I don’t like having keys sat in my mailbox unbound, but I couldn’t find an obvious way to do it. I’ll get on discord and have a read…
  8. You can prove anything with facts! Fair point, well made. Cheers
  9. Ok, so idiot question. If I purchase from ASC directly will I be able to bind the key I get immediately to my account, or not until the module is released?
  10. Hi csdigitaldesign, I've carried out the upgrade you're talking about without issue. I'm trying to cast my mind back as it was about a year ago that I did this... So it should work, but IIRC there is a different pot design for the z axis... There was certainly one that was singled out and marked differently, so perhaps it's just a hiccup with which pot you got sent? I just found an email comment rel4y sent me at the time - "I forgot to mention, the mainboards are labeled with their intended devices and two sensors are labeled with "Z". These are for the pedals Z axis and the Fighterstick Z axis. I think you will instantly recognize what I'm talking about, once you receive the package" Anyway, I'm confident that rel4y will be able to sort the problem out for you.
  11. Hi Rel4y, I'll send another email, but I'm getting concerned that you're not recieving them... Can you let me know whether you get anything from my hotmail please? Apparently you are! So order incoming! Cheers.
  12. Glad to hear you're over it rel4y! I shot you an email this morning... Hopefully it gets through, I always worry about hotmail stuff getting junked... Keep up the good work!
  13. I've also had issues since this latest OB update. Never seen this issue before, but the last few days I've had issues with the mouse pointer being constrained to a much smaller "window area" within VR which has made it impossible to click certain interface components. ALT-Enter has thus far worked for me. I've also has issues with a message in ornage text at the tope of the menu screen along the lines of "Window is out of focus" which I've never seen before in my decade of playing DCS. So nothing stoppping me from playing, but certainly a bit annoying...
  14. Yeah, I was thinking in terms of the software... If it assumes that it's only ever going to receive values within the 8-bit range then making it 12/16-bit might well cause overflow problems. While I'd love to improve my devices as much as I can I'd be loathed to lose the excellent software. Perhaps the pot upgrade but sticking with the original controller is a good middle ground. Thanks for your input.
  15. Hi rel4y, Fascinating work you're doing here! I was thinking about whether I could upgrade the pots in my CH Holy Trinity, and apparently I can... :) Following with interest! I was wondering about the board upgrade you mentioned; Would it still work with the Control Manager Software? Feels like it wouldn't, but that's just a hunch.
  16. Yep, I'm running on a 6gb 1060. Only got my rift a couple of weeks back. Initially I had issues getting it to perform / look "nice". The trick I have learned is that anti aliasing doesn't seem to work anywhere near as well as pushing up the pixel density. Then it's a case of cranking back the settings until you can maintain 45fps. I'm running lower settings than I used to on a regular screen, but the inherent slightly blurred world of VR means that long visual range is kinda pointless anyway. I've also observed that sometimes the VR just gets jittery. For that I've discovered that removing, and then putting back on the headset seems to clear that up. Odd, but it works for me. Just trigger some kind of soft reset or something? I'm also running the shader mod you mentioned. Not done any scientific testing, I just read that it seemed to really help, so went straight in with it from the get go.
  17. I can't wait to take this bird up! It's a fantastic looking project, and the results are looking pretty damned spectacular :)
  18. Very much looking forward to this one, congrats to all involved
  19. Thanks for the support Cobra, new key received, Many thanks. I must admit I was surprised to have this much trouble getting hold of you, the general vibe I got from the community is that you're an excellent team :) These things happen, it's easy to lose things in the jumble when you're up to your neck in work. Keep up the good work, I love the Mig-21, and I cannot wait for the F-14! :D
  20. Ditto. In the end I tracked down one of the other developers on that project and sent them a PM asking if they could ask Cobra to look into things for me... I got a reply from Cobra last night via email, I'm not sure which approach was finally effective, I THINK it was a response to my message sent via their website. So it took a couple off weeks, but I have had a response now, although only asking for more details, but a response is good! :)
  21. Yeah, I've emailed, posted on a couple of threads on these forums, and tried contacting via their website. Nothing :( I don't know what else to try. I heard that their support was excellent, but so far I am not feeling much love from them... Wonder if Cobra would respond to a PM? All I have left to try I guess.
  22. I'm another bonus weekend 'victim' :)The L-39 was too good to pass up with $20 off! I've only flown her a little, but so far she's a beauty. Top quality as always, setting a high standard for all to follow.
  23. Is the nicholas.dackard (at) gmail.com email address still monitored? I pinged off a support request on the 7th and have had nothing back yet. I might try to get through to them via their website contact us page... I don't want to get bent out of shape over this, if I lose an activation I lose an activation, but there's clearly a problem with the module, and I'd like some kind of feedback about this issue from them if possible. I don't want to be burning through activations if this issue keeps happening over and over :/
  24. Yikes! We'll I'm very glad that I didn't try that out! It never crossed my mind that it might be that awful. Jeeezuuuuzzzz! :O
