Likely it's the order of the api Layer https://github.com/fredemmott/OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI Using the latest version of this tool change the order so XRNecksafer is first

I have never used gremlin, so I can't compare and contrast. But to me it actually answers the op's problems and fixes the joystick move under windows issue, without having to manually edit files...I can also change joysticks with similar ease... As well as taking the mappings from existing aircraft and mapping them to others mea ING I can save hours of work in setting up new aircraft etc... It's not perfect...but it does answer those questions

Again, all of this done by Joypro...

OpenXR is going to have support for sometime… WMR is not going to have support on Windows 11 from end of August. OpenXR Toolkit, different from openxr, is currently unsupported by it’s creator as it is feature complete.

not a bad plan. If you can get a good deal on a hotas Wartog from thrustmaster, I would say fine, if you have thrustmaster money, I would say buy winwing today, or maybe vkb (not tried there stuff but people speak highly of it), thrust master is not very good value today...compared to what else is on the market. I would add, spend the minimum you can,mif you are getting into this hobby... I think it's great and have spent 1000's on it... But this has been my flying outlet in one way shape or form for 40 years so I k ow it scratches that "itch" for me -

Alot will depend on the resolution of your monitor 1080p you will be OK, beyond that not so much -

Definitely start in 2d… the VR rabbit hole is very very deep… and a bit like crack cocaine … there is never enough… I would agree , dcs is very VRAM demanding and 4080 super /4090 be what I would recommend, if you were upgrading your CPU/MB if not then honestly a good second hand 2080ti would likely pair well for your current cpu … -

Your base pc is fine for 2d. Depending on the gpu you might also be OK with that. It sounds like you need to play with your tracking curves to get the results you want, I'm not sure a wide screen would help per say, as you will loose the vertical. You can also have a look at Tobii which I prefer over TIR, but I spend more of my time in VR these days. If you were going to upgrade the mb, to something more modern today I would recommend the AMD 7800X3D and appropriate MB and ram, chances are your PSU is still fine. -
Reshade 6.0 gets native support for OpenXr
speed-of-heat replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
I’m not around my pc for a couple of weeks, but thanks for proving I’m not completely senile! might be worth a post in the Varjo Discord as well? -
XRNecksafer has no impact on the checked files in DCS and therefore has no impact on IC ... no more so than TrackIR/OpenTrack/Tobii..

Reshade 6.0 gets native support for OpenXr
speed-of-heat replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
I should be clear, this is not running OpenVR, rather this is enabling the compatibility layer in VarjoBase for OpenVR, DCS itself still is running in OpenXR. i have already disabled VarjoFovated, its equivalent, that didn't work and reordering the layers , again no effect what i haven't yet tried is enabling SteamVR as the default OpenXR layer... Holiday packing is taking precedence -

Reshade 6.0 gets native support for OpenXr
speed-of-heat replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
it doesn't, it just crashes at that point... the getting 2 checkboxes thing is definitely linked to turning on OpenVR compatibility... but it still doesn't actually synchronise any effects into the Aero -
Reshade 6.0 gets native support for OpenXr
speed-of-heat replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
so getting further ... bizarrely setting OpenVR compatibility in VarjoBase gets both synch boxes to show up, Apply preset of this effect runtime to all other instances gets a hang... i will see if it comes back -
Honestly my mind is in the gutter half the time ... but perhaps this is something not to abbreviate...

Reshade 6.0 gets native support for OpenXr
speed-of-heat replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
@Dunska, I only ever runin openxr... I only get the one sync option. I do not see any apply to openxr runtime? You say running up dcs in openxr and then switching to the desktop, do you mean taking of the hmd, and look at the desktop or do you mean restarting in desktop mode? -
Are you basing this of Reshade? For me shadow hiding, and label hiding, based on cockpit mask, helicopter blade hiding. The other one that wasn't present so more of a feature request, is is there a way of hiding heat blur, in the hud... I ask as the effect ruins the hud by causing it to blur when a heat blur effect passes in front of the hud

What angles are you using on your Apache collective?
speed-of-heat replied to Uncle's topic in VIRPIL Controls
