There is a Main Lobe Clutter, switch in the RIO cockpit, the out position is down. You can either switch to the back pit to flick it down or... It's a false positive... it happens semi frequently with DCS, the prevalent wisdom is to exclude DCS from your AV, and then do a repair.

sorry, i honestly don't know but the source of the comment is here, i just remembered seeing it, it's not something i have done myself as my headset doesn't allow passthrough MFD export for VR · Issue #742 · HeliosVirtualCockpit/Helios (github.com)

i think this might be the issue, natively DCS does not allow the export of the MFD's if VR is turned on , you have to configure it to be switched on "In order to make MFD export work with VR you need "VR_allow_MFD_out_of_HMD = true" in the monitor config.lua alongside the configuration generated by Helios. Other DCS Settings required for this to work is - DCS VR Options: VR Mirror Options - "Use DCS System Resolution". this is of course related to Helios, but, i wonder if it will help you too?

depends on your budget, 5800x3d, and 4060ti/or 4070, depending on what you do, you might want to upgrade the RAM to 32Gb, you could get a healthy improvement with a 3070ti second hand...

i have never been able to get the latest version of Re-shade to work with the current version of DCS in VR

generally people seem to think that FSR is the best of the alternatives, combined with MSAA in game I would suggest x2 and see... YMMWV

ultimately it's a matter of personal preference ... on a 4070 you might want to leave those settings alone for a bit and try DLSS... but try one thing at a time for a bit and see what works best for you ...

ah ... i have a very particular view what is a mountain ... many thanks for your very patient explanation i will give it another crack tomorrow, i think i was confused by that and the reference to him being 10nm east ... I was in PAL but hopefully now i will be pointing in the right direction ... ah ok i will have the camera switched on .. and try not to fox 2 a hornet yeah .. i think the later model of sparrow's had a dedicated mode for helo's but thats off topic. many thanks again!

so exports happen in Tacview as well if you use that especially with hard disks that can be a problem ... try seeing if there is any CPU activity that coincides with the spike, and track it down ... you can also try uninstalling iCue and seeing if that has an effect, i won't touch it these days i just leave my led's on blue...

Do you have winwing's export file enabled, or exports for anything else, regular processes running in the background, led lighting effects from iQue for example did this for me...

no nvidia settings have almost zero impact in VR ... do you have a screen shot of your in game settings ?

if you are using DLSS turn it off and use DLAA or use MSAAx2

So that’s actually a good question, if a new feature being introduced stops "bombs" working, for example fuzes, does that mean it gets "fixed", it's a new feature so it's an addition but it also stops the module from working as Intended... -
just checking you are aware that zoom in VR is "different" from zoom in 2d, there is no VR axis to bind.... but there are buttons in the UI layer
