    it worked the first time through ... but i missed one of the ZSU's and it pinned me on the 2'nd pass the first time through the mission, i must just have stumbled on to an edge case i guess

    dead sure, the only thing i can think of is that my wheel did take me closer to the column this time , would that cause the sam not to fire ?

    1080ti without a shadow of a doubt will give you a 40% ish performance benefit in rasterization over the 2060, even with DLSS or DLAA you wont get that level of perf increase with a 2060... my daughter is still rocking my 1080ti , because i lieterally cannot find another card to upgrade her to without spending stupid money , i think the earliest card that matches it would be a 3060ti in terms of performance, and even then you still end up with 3Gb less vRAM which DCS eats like candy

    i would likely go the 24gb of vram , if you want to increase the speed of your ram fine, but you dont need 128Gb for DCS ... bear in mind that some benchmark sites have a terrible tendency to bias

    yes providing you stay away from VR , i used to run DCS on 12700k and on a 1070ti at first in 2d. I think you would be marginally better of with the 1070ti both in terms of raw performance and the extra 2Gb of RAM in the ti... the only thing to be aware of is that the 10xx series cards are coming to the end of their support life... which means no new drivers or hotfixes... that "shouldn't" impact DCS

    good stick choices ... the winwing pedals are pretty solid as well, also MFG crosswinds, which i had before the started making pedals.

    try restricting to physical only cores 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc... that will functionally remove hyperthreading from the equation you will more likely hear it first from what i gather as your fans will ram up more than normal i guess my question is ... by how much ... if its as much as 10 degrees , that might be just a change in ambient given the time of year (YMMV)

    not kidding, YMMV run it without run it with, see if you get any difference

    glad you are happy, word of warning, the more complex RGB software can have a really crappy effect on performance in DCS... depends on the software nut it was certainly true of my corsair fans, i just set them on "blue" in BIOS and left them there... i would get stutters every 0.5 second otherwise as the led software monitored changes to see if it needed to do something.

    Yes. either install Varjo Foveated: mbucchia/_ARCHIVE_Varjo-Foveated: An OpenXR API layer to inject foveated rendering in apps using quad views , which will give you flexability, OR if you don't need or want that then follow the guidance in the Varjo Blog Settings Tips for OpenXR Applications: Varjo Quad View and Foveated Rendering – Varjo.co turn on DCS In VR Options Select enable use Quad view, disable Eye tracking

    normal windows tools, like HWInfo or MSI Afterburner will do just fine

    so i am seeing similar to this in my AMD 9800x3d in main menu, what i am not seeing is a massive temperature increase as described by other users

    it's difficult to say, if i am honest, a lot will depend on what headset you are running... and what CPU you are pairing it with ... the specs in isolation don't tell enough to be useful, and i would suggest waiting until we have some independent bench tests before trying to draw any conclusions
