A while ago there was talk of changes to missile guidance, such as INS and implementing Kallman filtering, changes to navigation constant based on certain launch parameters etc guidance law related stuff like ZEM & predictive guidance... Is that still planed or is ED focusing purely on the aerodynamic aspect of missile modeling atm? Also now that there is a Syria Map can ED release minor IAF assets like tweaked AI F-4/15/16s that can use Python family missiles Maybe add an AI Kfir & Grippen (and other common export light fighters) as well to allow for simming of other potential conflicts Technically speaking the Python 3 is already in the game, all that needs to be added after would be the 4 and 5

2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
I take it this will be an AI asset you're talking about? Is the Su-30MKK module is still being considered as a module some time later? -
Very cool thank you

He flew many Flankers, in that specific post he says in his UB he had no such issues. What this means is that there is a large difference in SPO-15 behaviour based on generation of the system and this is a real world account of how much it varies. SM is irrelevant to the discussion it has a Pastel. If you meant to say there is no missile launch indication that is wrong, how it operates is briefly summarized here
-
Dependent upon generation and modification of the receiver (In this case SPO-15LM). The RuAF Flanker pilot if I recall said that his experience with it was not like that in the Su-27UB https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/236399-su-27-otvety-lyotchikov/?do=findComment&comment=4637943 And this is backed up by text from EA Fedosov stating the SPO-15 on the MiG-31 and Su-27 are of another generation with expanded capability Snippet taken form Overscan's translation So it would be wrong to model all FC3 RWRs like the MiG-29 9.12's. Southern watch September 9th 1999 MiG-23 evades long AIM-54C shot and runs home. I say 120Cs not in reference to the C5 but early Cs as all but one Yugo MiG-29 was killed by one iirc

Do you still have a link to the original post?
-
You do get different signal strength from tomcats depending if he's in PD or Pulse in game atm iirc. About the SPO-15 not detecting detecting 120s seems like an odd claim, it proved decent at keeping planes safe from both AIM-54A and C even some 120Cs in AF. Given how much technology is shared and both of them being made by Hughes wouldn't be a stretch to say the C and 120 are in the same band.

Did Deka give up on the J-11 and move on?

The PL-12 and PL-8 exist in the game files, you can mod them onto the J-11A They are there for future J-11B/8/15 AI -
reported AN/APG-63 range is under-represented

The software not behaving as it should is a bug As such it must be addressed since the product is still being supported -
reported AN/APG-63 range is under-represented
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to GGTharos's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
That's what I don't understand The low detection is a bug not a feature. -
An Eagle Squadron correct? Im also hazy on the details
-
I was under the impression that squadron in the 90s had JTIDS not Link 16

About 1984 on the -1 A RuAF guy said the -2 was available in 1995 in Russian service and 1997 for export the R-74M came around 2015 The 74 and -2 should have the same off bore look angles R-74M uses a MK-2200 instead of MK-80 seeker might pull more G not sure on that

When will the CFD arrive Whats the progress on it Will the new archer arrive then too?
-
I think I may not be understanding you, but the N001 and N019 are not accurate to their detection and lock figures given in their manuals.

Target aspect So 0 deg = head on 180 deg = directly behind him and so on

Starting to look a lot like a Keyaero thread to me

How do you all think the MIG-15 Performs?
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to Harley Davidson's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
I much more enjoy the snappiness and guns of the Sabre between the two. -
Not the most DCS Related thing but I'd be curious of Deka could share some insights into all the changes and variants of the J-11 and J-11A Tell us where our J-11A sits on the timeline

Is the MFI 55 update still planned to happen?
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Shenyang J-11A
I too am curious if this will arrive in 2.7 -
I hope this doesn't come off as impolite but I think it bears repeating. I do not understand why this is said when you previously mentioned the half circle graphs were R aero figures for these missiles. Only for us to more recently find out they have a provision for a terminal 3g maneuver for a few seconds baked into it. And this came from RuAF pilots mind you, certainly they can be considered SME's on this. With that in mind, wouldn't it be foolhardy to claim the draftsmen that made the graph was wrong? Unless you have some other supplemental information from another RuAF source or later manual correcting it, I find it hard to believe.

And the new R-73, the RMD-2, when will that be introduced into DCS?
