I sort of wonder about the legal mechanics of it. ED has stated that as a result of laws they can't make modern red air, fair enough I understand not wanting to paint a target on ones self. But they have said a third party would be able to bring a module like that to DCS. Let's say Deka brings us a Su-30MKK hypothetically to DCS. What would prevent ED from getting into trouble? Or is it a matter of political subtlety where lots of these things are in a grey area and 'could' be done but give the Russian government a reason to harass ED employees? I think it's more the later if I am reading in-between the lines correctly.

I'm not sure the engine issues is as big a deal as some make it out to be, Its an issue which they seem to already have a fix for its a matter of implementing it. Some have said this might have something to do with a flaw in the two level depot system compared to a three level where this could be sent to an intermediate depot and fixed much quicker than what I assume is heavy maintenance processing new engines and the ones with faulty blades being sent back? Regardless of that, the Eagle in 1981 five years after entering service had a readiness rate of 66.7% The JSF five years after entering service has a readiness rate of 70%. This seems inline with the usual trend of these programmes I don't see why complain about this.

So I take it the whole R-27 family is being looked at over the 20% missing range?

There are a number of inaccuracies with the current FC3 planes that ED has decided not to fix for what ever reason. Can we expect that these issues will be fixed with the release of MAC or shortly after?

DCS Flaming Cliffs 3 - Баги, проблемы

Im curious about how staff feels about the bugs, will they be looking into the FM discrepancy? -
Just saw the first few minutes OK I familiar with this story a bit, the general is being taken way out of context. I suggest you look at the transcript from the Defense Writers Group interview with him and you'll see he's talking about another project and its follow ons that the USAF has been thinking about for some time already. 'So the question is what is the son of NGAD? Does it have to be a kind of full-up 6 th Gen capability? Or can it be something we can build from the same approach using digital engineering and provide something that is capable, that doesn’t necessarily have to be an F-16 or something " That's what he's aluding to son of NGAD/PCA Key point here too people overlook when they clamor for more F-16s and reduction of the JSF fleet from its original intended 1800 number "[relevant] not just today, but well into the future" Who would be surprised by a 6th gen cutting down on the demand of 5th gen types, its almost like this happens every 30~40 years

Because it can't do it in game? You already confirmed ED took the range as an r aero figure (when it isn't one) here and said you would look into it. Anyway I think FoxAlfa is right that a small drag tweak in that regard so it can hit that mark would be a step in the right direction until the CFD rolls around. It would be similar to the process of slowly tweaking the AMRAAM until it was where it needed to be.

Exactly, its thinking like that which makes me believe the people in this community have a bad case of Stockholm syndrome or have never played another video game in their lives

I would like to know why you continually refuse to acknowledge that A, the Russian pilot said even at max range on the chart it should be able to pull 3g terminally. And B that the ingame one differs from the real life one in this regard.

Will the new CFD'ed R-27 have the ability to do a 3g turn for a few seconds even when used at maximum range stated in the manual's range tables?

reported AN/APG-63 range is under-represented
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to GGTharos's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
I just noticed the steam manual mentions the in game F-15C has an APG-63v1, shouldn't then the detection figures be made higher in line with estimates on that radar or the APG-70. So essentially a APG-63 with added power to hit -70 estimates -

https://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/obj/s4/f2/dsk2/ftp04/mq22118.pdf Pg 30 here also states 90km detection by the APG-63 on an F-4. Also on an aurora lol -
uboats has mentioned it before. They experimented with a J-11A using the PL-12 before. He hasn't said much more than that. Its not like the case with PLANAF MK2s

I think he means the picture shows a J-11A with a PL-12 on it

Most of the information is here in this post Its a pentagon link, so I think Chizh had some trouble accessing it from Russia same with that 1995 F-15C manual. I guess that's what he sent him. It does make sense to post the info here publicly too, even if it is for posterity. -
Question regarding differences between 54A and 54C
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to nighthawk2174's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Wouldn't it be possible to find what ever equivalent to an AFTTP manual exist for the F-14 and see if in there is any mention of being able to 'cheapshot' with the AIM-54C as if I'm not mistaken that would be the brevity for an attack using the Command Inertial Active mode. Or a former crew could talk about if they were able to do that with the 54C? A pilot explained more or less how it works with the AMRAAM, I don't understand why they would keep quite about a retired missile being able to do the same. I think the FOIA report is more likely than not going to confirm it can... -
Has Deka decided yet? What's their next module?
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
True, and there have been efforts to satisfy people's 2000s redfor needs by them. ED is still imperfect, they don't understand that part of FC3's appeal is not just that the planes are easy to get into. But that they're the only modern sim options for people who genuinely like planes such as the F-15C Su-27 and MiG-29 and as a result refuse to address serious shortcomings like major bugs and missing and incomplete features -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
TaxDollarsAtWork replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
801 is an interesting plane really, I'd love to see it in game. It was originally pitched as an MKK avionics wise with an airframe closer to that of an MKI, from what I saw of the movie he did flip a switch and did post stall maneuvers one would only see from something like a Su-30SM. Can't tell if that is Ruskiwood magic or that it actually had TVC -
Sounds like desync
