  1. @=475FG= DawgerThank you!
  2. Hello, I'm reading "Air Forces Manual No.64 - Fighter Gunnery Firing Rockets Dive Bombing 1May1945.pdf" about wing lines and dive bombing in the P-51. On p. 78 I read the term "6 deg from level lugs line": As I'm not a native English speaker I'm having trouble to understand what is meant by this (my dictionary also didn't help). On p. 75 I also found this picture, where they talk about "leave lugs" which I understand even less And finally on p. 74 there is a section that gives additional explanations (for P-47, but I think it's also true for P-51): Where are the 6 deg being measured from exactly? From p. 74 I would assume it's measured 6 deg down from the plane's nose (?). I also found something that looks similar in Chuck's Guide on p. 123: (107 mils is the same as 6 deg) Here the 6 deg are measured from the center of the gun sight. Does this correspond to the Air Forces manual? Sorry for asking such pedantic questions, I just find it interesting and like to understand as much as possible Thanks!
  3. Thanks @Zabuzard again! It all starts to make sense now
  4. Hi @Zabuzard, sorry to bother you again. Judging from your examples above, am I correct in assuming that the diameter of the sight circle is 71 mils (blue in picture below) and not the radius (red in picture below)? Best regards!
  5. Hi @Zabuzard, Thank you so much for taking your time to answer my question in such detail! With your explanations I'm starting to get the hang of it now. Thanks again!
  6. Hello, I'm reading "Air Forces Manual No.64 - Fighter Gunnery Firing Rockets Dive Bombing 1May1945.pdf" and I'm confused when it comes to the unit "mil" used in this passage on p. 88 when talking about the K-14 sight: According to Wikipedia, "mil" has two meanings: - abbreviation for "milliradians", a unit to measure angles (71.12 mil would be 4 deg). - a "thousandth of an inch", a unit to measure length (71.12 mil would be 0.07112 inches or 1.8 mm) As "thousandth of an inch" seems not to make sense here, I figure it's milliradians? What does 71.12 mil mean here? And what does it mean if the circle is 71.12 mil or 4 deg as described in the manual? Thanks!
  7. Thank you very much!
  8. Awesome tool! Thanks & keep it up!
  9. Has this been addressed in today's OB patch? I couldn't find anything related in the change log.
  10. This kneeboard suite is a piece of art! Thank you again!
  11. After DCS 2.7.17.29140 Open Beta I too experienced some weird behavior in the Apache: More "SAS Saturation" warnings than I am used to After activating ATT HOLD it keeps deactivating/activating by itself (box around speed indicator in IHADSS disappears/appears every now and then) Strange drift to the right when trying to come to a hover position At one point I could perfectly auto hover with hands off without engaging any HOLD mode These were some observations I made before I found this thread. After reading this thread it seems likely that the HOLD modes keep being activated (after first use?) even if the pilot has deactivated them.
  12. I experience the same problem since OB 2.7.15.25026 Open Beta (8-JUN-2022).
  13. Sorry for hijacking this thread, but what does the abbreviation "SAS" actually stand for? Is it the same as in the A-10, i.e. "Stability Augmentation System"?
  14. I also use Thrustmaster T Flight pedals and face the exact same difficulties even after greasing. In comparison it wasn't that much of a problem when I was flying the UH-H1 Huey. What I'm experimenting with now is applying curves and decreasing saturation in DCS's axis tuning menu and see how that goes.
  15. Thanks, it's always interesting to get first hand details like this. I also read in IRL you would only get range for A/A TACAN from KC-135 and the bearing is just a setting in the mission editor to make life easier in the game. However at the moment we don't seem to get the range and only the bearing option works in the current open beta which indeed looks like a bug to me.
  16. Thanks for the replies! I hope this will be fixed in one of the next updates.
  17. Hello, Before yesterday's DCS update tankers were transmitting bearing and range when input in the F/A-18C's TACAN UFC. Today I noticed that I only get the bearing but no range information. I know that IRL tankers would only transmit the range via TACAN (but you can activate "BEARING" in the mission editor when the tanker activates the TACAN). I have tested it with the vanilla mission "Persian Gulf FA-18C Aerial Refueling" and set TACAN to "1X" with the "AA" option enabled. Is this behavior a bug? Does anyone else notice this? Best regards and happy holidays!
  18. Thank you! Your kneeboards a work of beauty
  19. Wow, this is beautiful! Grüezi zäme!
  20. Haha, same, I'm so afraid of the wires that I never even dared come close to them
  21. That's actually a good point that makes me believe it's in a bugged state at the moment. If only a real F/A-18 pilot could confirm this, then my mind would be at peace. I'm looking at you, @Mover
