Yes ofcourse. I fly still with the CV1, but i'll upgrade to the G2 eventually or if a better headset comes along after a while. I'm also aiming for the Virpil collective set that comes out this year if they arent priced too high.

So we can hope our outdated UH-1H Huey is, well.. outdated.. And as such, as we've seen with the A-10CII and the cancelled KA-50 upgrade (Due to Russia's new military information law), aswell as after the work on the AH-64D and the Hind, would a Huey 2.0 eventually come out ? And would we get an upgrade to the aircraft itself, perhaps a UH-1N Twin Huey? Heres to really hoping for the better. As a guy who have way over 3000 hours in the Huey since its '13 release, it is my most played aircraft in DCS, and too long have the UH-1H been neglected and overseen (yes we got Multicrew and i am grateful, however on the grander scale thats peanuts compared to the other more pressing matters). I believe, since ED has revealed nothing about the Huey (i guess they play their cards very close) i believe the time has come for ED to consider upgrading the oldest module currently in DCS. I think all of us who love the Huey, even as an icon and a legend, deserve an upgrade.

Thrustmaster A-10C Warthog Throttle and Joystick, Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder Pedals and Rift CV1 VR Headset. I removed the middle spring in the joystick (if you got one, and you fly helos, remove it, thank me later) to get more authentic feel for the cyclic, left throttle for throttle, right throttle for collective. It works fairly well.

Yesterday i reached an altitude of 26,000 feet. Calm weather, calm wind, temp above 10k was -10C and dropping. According to the official Flight Characteristic charts, a huey utility helicopter have a max altitude of 14k feet, 10k without oxygen masks. *Shrug* Video of the accurance

As a rotorhead who have flown the huey since day 1, there is alot to be desired. Work on the huey, as we all know after all these years, are very much slow going or even halted at times. We can wish, desire and hope all we want, but the timeframe we're dealing with here is nearing a decade, not just months or years. I fear that we wont see much "update" to the huey, other than the recent multicrew, for a long, long time.

Im gonna go on a limb here and say UH-60 Blackhawk.. Just a shot in the air..

To Belsimtek and Eagle Dynamics about the UH-1D Huey
DeTesla replied to DeTesla's topic in DCS: UH-1H
This post aged well! -
I was looking forward to multi-crew and got really excited when it was announced. But alas, we got bamboozled once again. I would love for the Huey to get multicrew going for cockpit support and to decrease the learning curve for recruits with instructors onboard.

I feel like that slingload in the Huey is Natural. When i start and approach my load, i pick out a reference point infront of me, be it a tree, rock, road or riverbed, dosent matter, any static reference point is valid. You use this to stabilise yourself during hover, listening in to the voice directing you whichever way the slingload is located. Usually when picking up load i sit on the right side as i have good view of my EGT. When the load is hooked, i continue to look at the reference point as i increase altitude slowly till the line is tight, then i switch my attention to my EGT while i continue to slowly increase collective, watching as the EGT rise and prevent it going redline. When i drop the load, i switch to the left seat for increased visibility, the EGT isnt as important now as you are lowering collective, so theres no danger of redlining it, however you still have the Copilots VSPEED to look out for. Dont go below 500 feet per minute, or on the dial, the 5 inbetween the 0 and 1. Approach head wind to avoid fighting the wind and the torque with the pedals at the same time, pick out a reference point on the ground ahead of the drop-location and simply lower altitude till you hear the voice call out sling load altitude. Its not that hard once you've done it a few times and know what to look out for.

Yeah. Im really really really hoping for a UH-60 variant. Its such an iconic helicopter, and just pure awesome to fly. Oh how i remember BF2 days..

Just updated, and everytime i start up SRS, i do a microphone test, however now theres a constant buzzing, sort of a feedback, which SRS picks up. Ive checked my microphone in a different program, but theres no buzzing, its not caused on my end (that i know of). I cannot record it as none of my recordings pick up the buzzing. I have no idea if i just hear it on the test, or if the buzzing gets broadcast over the network on the servers i join. https://i.imgur.com/JkcHZFP.gifv I hope this is just a fluke though.

Now we all know that FLCS is great at some aspects, however it feels like the F-16 is lacking the sensitivity it deserves with default sensitivity settings. I've dabbled a bit in changing the sensitivity for the pitch\roll, but i havent really made it feel "natural" yet. Has anyone found that sweetspot yet ? Warthog Throttle and Joystick!
-
They all added some good points here. However this is a simulation, and thus we must treat it like such, adapting the senses that would feel feedback, towards the sensors given optically. What i usually do is i take a long approach to the target by adjusting trim and vertical speed as needed till i am nearing the target. At this point i adjust to takeoff-trim while either holding neutral Vertical speed if the situation requires it, or descending in vertical speed. While i do this i make sure im approaching headwind, as there is no use to fight the wind and pedals at the same time, i check and double check that my EGT keeps below 625 degrees Celsius , i check the dropoff point and i look for ground references to aid in my decent, and to keep me center of target (trees, buildings, traffic pole, anything that is static to the ground). I adjust with RPM gov. switch if needed. And people say the Huey is easy..

Front\rear cockpit desyncs and other compliments on the C-101
DeTesla replied to DeTesla's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
I found a community in which i could fly with semi-professionally, and i have not experienced any problems in that department. I have been a Huey instructor for about two years, and weirdly i have not experienced that phenomena yet. However that might change when multi-crew for the Huey will release. But hey, i do like to teach the Huey, so i would'nt mind it. -
Front\rear cockpit desyncs and other compliments on the C-101
DeTesla replied to DeTesla's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
Heh my dude, im using yours. It is extremely informative, and frankly, with your checklists, i would not have to create my own, so thank you for your contribution. I'm also using a few scraps of checklists i found on the internet for the C-101, but yours makes the bulk of it. Yeah i fly mainly in multiplayer. I'm guessing there is a clear line in-between single- and multiplayer users on DCS. -
Now let me just firstly state that i love the C-101-CC\EB. I am a Huey rotor-head by heart, however as i dislike screens in my cockpit, this is a perfect addition to my valued collection of aircraft's i properly value. Dials and gauges are highly undervalued. I bought this aircraft a while ago, however its just in the past few months when i found a buddy to fly with i really started to do a deep dive into its systems and flight procedures, and i don't think I'll ever go back to the way things were. As an avid user of kneeboard's, as i fly in VR, it is now filled up with checklist for nearly every aspect of the aircraft in which i try to follow religiously. And i'm glad that the fidelity this aircraft delivers to the user allows me to really immerse myself into it, and have a good time doing it. And it is the fact that this is a two cockpit configuration, which allows two users to inhabit the aircraft at the same time (unlike the F-14, in which only one person has control of one aspect of the aircraft, depending on what seat you're in) , thus both persons has control over multiple same aspects, which makes this one of my favorite fixed wing additions to DCS. Its hidden Side Now with all of this said, it is not all blue skies and roses with this aircraft, as it sometimes shows its hidden side, the side which is not publicized. I'm talking De-syncs between the front and rear cockpit. I was flying with my buddy a day or so ago, and the problems started already on the ramp, dark and cold. We both spawned in the aircraft, me in the rear, my buddy on main stick. He switched on the batteries, and we both went through our checklists for startup. When we came to starting the engine, i was the one on that duty, as my buddy still had his weapons, navigation and radio checklist to go through. When the engines was started and running idle, my buddy asked if i had started up the engine, and i said, promptly, yes, my instruments show idle on the dashboard. However, in the front seat, engines was still on crank. We went through engine fail checklist, and after a while we concluded with that it was a horrible de-sync of the two clients. I even peaked up and took a peak at his instruments, and they showed idle engine rpm. Sadly, this is not the first time this has happened. Here is two de-sync bugs that me and my buddy, sharing the same aircraft have noticed over the last couple of flights; 1: We have the, to my knowledge, recent bug where increasing instrument and console lights, will automatically lower the gear handle, thus lowering the gear, mid-flight, without having the ability to raise them, even when gear handle is raised in both cockpits. Now i believe that is a quick fix, which i believe has been reported (it is one of the unique bugs i've come over). 2: Flight Director in the rear cockpit will stay on STBY mode indefinitely even though the front cockpit has turned it on, notably ALT and HDG hold, with NAV selected on rear cockpit, thus, preventing the attitude needles to show in flight. We can only conclude with that Aviodev have not yet polished the client-sync as much as we would hope, however, the aircraft is still in heavy development, in which i am extremely glad for. The light at the end of the tunnel With all of this said, we cannot disregard that every module with a shared cockpit option, wont have these kinds of problems. Most of us have an understanding that the amount of information shared between clients and server is very immense, that de-syncs are nearly bound to happen, nearly by the laws of physics. in light of this, we can assume that things will only get better by time (and money, so keep playing and purchasing modules) so all we can really do is wait for things to smooth out, and eventually, hopefully, the transition from one to two clients will become seamless, and thus, fun (not that its not already fun, as it clearly is). Thank you Aviodev for this amazing module. Keep up the amazing work you do, and i will continuously look forward to the new additions and implementations on this aircraft, and having great fun while i do so. (Also, this is just a post to explain some of the bugs ive noticed, so call it a glorified bug report)

Apparently you dont know the Huey. It is regarded by many as the hardest module to learn by far, not only just being able to fly safely, but also its engine and systems. You should try to learn it, see what you're missing :)

Can confirm! Landing gear was bugged, but we did not know what caused it, and would never have thought it was the console lightning.

When im flying backseat as RIO, i cannot open my kneeboard to gain access to checklists. Now a normal user would just have it on a second screen or write it out, however i fly in VR, and i rely on the kneeboard alot when flying to keep track of checklists and radio-frequencies. The kneeboard is all keymapped in key-binding options, but i cannot figure out why it wont work for me. I can toggle the kneeboard when im sitting in front though.

reported earlier searchlight ...lack of power/distance
DeTesla replied to mastercosta's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Dude when i wrote that i have not tried the landing\spotlights for atleast 1.5 years, because of how shoddy it was. I tested them during a night ops not long ago and i noticed the lights themselves have improved alot. There is not a flat, unimpressed heliocentric sprite from the searchlight anymore (There still is a heliocentric "cone of shame" on the landing light, however the illumination is as the spotlight) I found myself amazed that the issue had been looked into. Therefore, i redact my last comment, they are not useless (however the range is a bit lacking to be honest) and i will be looking forward for the end result for my most favorite module in DCS. Thank you! Oh... -
I really like the concept very much, and i hope you all build upon this. I would like to see in a possible future a bit more weather difference(bad weather), night ops, more powerful gusts\wind and VHF FM navigation to rescuees (for us Huey fanatics). But all in all, good mission! EDIT: And slingloads, yes, slingloads!

reported earlier searchlight ...lack of power/distance
DeTesla replied to mastercosta's topic in DCS: UH-1H
The searchlights\landing lights are currently useless, and they have been useless since release. The same goes for the nav-lights and anti-coll light which sprites are currently going through the fuselage and illuminating inside the cabin.. My hope is that ED has fixed this when they release multi-crew now in May. -
Can confirm. Also, the switch does not move incrementally up, only down, making sling loading very unsafe, unless you switch to emergency governor.

My apologies for late reply. I had a bunch of files in FXO and Metashader folders, so deleted that. DCS folder under my maps ? no idea what that is, but i searched for it, found nothing. DCS graphic settings are fairly low, however texture quality is high to allow me to read labels inside the cockpit. I do not use MSAA or SSLR.
-
As my rig stands today, i have quite low settings. However texture is high due to being in VR in the first place. However, with this said, i experience very little consistent lag due to my specs. I get 40+ frame rates during normal play, except when i get these random framedrops to 1fps at the worst, even when im 40k feet in altitude. So why it happens, even when im high in altitude with noone around, i dont know.
