  1. Actually cross bleed engine starts are possible as long as the operating engine is above 85% N2. At that point there is enough bleed air from the running engine to turn the ATS and start the other engine. Page 1-8 of T.O. 1A-10A-1 (USAF A-10A Flight Manual) "Engine starts require low pressure air to power the ATS unit mounted on the engine. Air may be obtained from the following sources: 1.) APU 2.) Crossbleed air from an operating engine 3.) External pneumatic power unit" Here is the Engine Starting System diagram to help give you an understanding.
  2. what is the purpose of this code from the options.lua file? ["display_mode"] = { ["avi"] = { ["bpp"] = 32, ["resolution"] = "640x480", ["full_screen"] = false, ["aspect"] = 1.25, ["height"] = 480, ["width"] = 640, }, -- end of ["avi"] }, -- end of ["display_mode"]
  3. Awesome Video, I love how quickly this next producer's Note came out. I realize this is still very much a work in progress, but I was a bit disappointed to hear the APU and Engine turbine sounds. They sound almost identical to the Ka-50 Blackshark's APU and Turbines. Is there any planed sound modification planned for the A-10C, or is this pretty much what we'll get in the finished product? What did Wags mean in his first post, "No noise map yet" ?
  4. What magazine article were you reading? I would like to get a hold of it. Any info i can grab about the A-10C's systems are strongly desired right now.
  5. Man how I want you to be right! Even if it was still a bit off it would be nice to get producer notes so at least we could start to study up on systems and procedures.
  6. Awesome! I can't wait for the next note, Start up procedures!
  7. I want to start to assign wingman commands to my X-52 too, what common commands are people using, and where on the HOTAS are you setting them?
  8. I was able to get the Ipod version on the video just fine and at a good speed. The production quality was very nice and i am certainly looking forward to delving deeper into this video series! I am mostly looking forward to combat school but the basics should provide a good refresher too.
  9. Hey Miguez I am excited to see what comes out for the combat tactics portion of DCS black shark, since i already have a good understanding of the basic KA-50 systems and operations, but was wondering if there would be any chance we could start to see some training videos for the up coming DCS A-10C release. I know you are hard at work right now with the Black Shark stuff, but I personally would get a great deal of use out of training information for the A-10C before the game is actually released. Just curious if any thought was given to producing a few, even basic, A-10C videos to get people up to speed on what we might be expecting.
  10. Ah very good idea, thank you. I was printing my current setup as a PDF and using my laptop to read it while in game for the reference, but this would allow me to make notes and change setups on the fly as i find out how best to implement controls and what not.
  11. Can you elaborate on the blank worksheet you printed with the SST program. I need to make something like this so I can help recall everything I programed. Thanks
  12. I think this is the second part of the show, enjoy!
  13. Yeah i am a big fan of this map, I wish i could have joined but maybe next time! And by those pictures It looks like you all had a good time.
  14. That was a lot of fun, I never had any issues with lag and everyone worked well together to complete that last mission! I was flying as Jackal and yes that miss did hurt
  15. Is there any new or additional information in the manual compared to the PDF flight manual that came with the download version of the game? Also i have noticed several mistakes to the PDF version of the flight manual when compared to the producer notes, would the paper manual have updated or corrected information, or again is it a straight reproduction of the PDF version.
  16. I would very much like to see this project be continued. I mostly would like a short narrative about the item, country employing item, range of threat from engagement, and offensive and defensive tactics to defeat and survive unit. How is the project comming along now? Is there a way to make this a standalone document so that i might be able to review it without having to boot up DCS?
  17. Awesome stuff guys! I really appreciate all the information, keep it coming. I am really hoping to find info on systems that would be specific to the A-10C from the service life extension program to include but certainly not limited to the fire control system, electronic countermeasures, HUD upgrades, and the INS / GPS Navigation systems. I certainly understand how hard it might be to get this sort of information but just thought i would ask and throw it out there to the community.
  18. With the upcoming DCS release of the A-10C I was wondering if anyone knew of some good websites or books to help start getting acquainted with the Hog. Anything that involves AC systems, weapons , tactics, and general procedures. I would prefer online material just to avoid buying a bunch of books, but if there was a hangs down must read book I would certainly consider it. I would be most interested in learning about the navigational systems, autopilot, and weapons systems.
  19. This is an excellent training aid! I applauded your dedication to detail and accuracy. There is a lot of additional material that is not covered by the producer's notes and or the manual that I think your product could very easily supplement. Things like common combat practices and more procedural events specific to types of operations, from attacking techniques, defensive techniques, emergency procedures, and of course a thorough and detailed systems presentation such as this one video. I'm not sure I would want to pay as much as $50.00 for the DVD series, but perhaps an online subscription service where I could pay for and download certain videos of material that I wanted a better understanding of, would be helpful. While I do feel I have a good understanding of the KA-50 now I would VERY much be interested in getting a video series for the up coming A-10C, especially if I could have it before the A-10C was released so that I had time to study up on everything before hand! Something that valuable I would consider buying for $20-$30.
  20. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some reading material for the A-10C, to brush up on systems, checklists, flows, procedures, ect... for the up coming release from DCS? I have seen some flight manuals online for the A-10a but they are at least $30-$70.
  21. I also use the JOY RX (large thumb Rotary) programed to the ZOOM VIEW in BS and while it is considerably better than the slider I still get a bit of shaking with the ZOOM. Does anyone else have a problem with this, i wonder how good the quality of the sensors are in this HOTAS. I guess i will have to try and fool around with deadzones and saturation to get it to quit jumping about.
  22. Yes good advice i know that was a problem for some people, but i made sure to do that first off. Everything now works and i guess i'll just chalk it up to a bad version of the Saitek software. The latest version 6.6.0.38 (6.6.1.15) seems to be working fine with BS. I will try FSX this afternoon.
  23. Anyone have any news on the MFD development for BS? I'm still waiting for my account on Saitek's Forums to be activated so this is my only source of news for now
  24. Humm well I'm not sure what i did but it seems to be working now. I unistalled everything and reinstalled version 6.6.0.38 (6.6.1.15). Thanks for the quick help Slayer!
