I would test both situations. For me, using the OTT for PD worked better for me. Also in OTT, I turned AWS to "disable".

Is your TDC the nipple on the throttle? Sometimes it will move slightly off the target, but I just move it back to where I want it and press TDC again.

Just got mine yesterday. They both start automatically once I put on my headset.

My laser latches with the trigger. However, once I landed and took off again, laser would come on for a half a second and go off. Even when you I hold the trigger.

Had the same issue. It happened after releasing my GBUs and returned to base to rearm. Laser would not remain on at that point.

My target was at 8000 ft but the waypoint was 2000 feet, thus the miss in Auto Mode. Flown missions with no waypoints and all is good using GBU-12s. I saw somewhere DCS is aware of the issue.
