The harness and moveable flaps do a very realistic job of giving you the feeling of pulling G’s. I did a cat shot and trap in Merlin’s seat (poster above) and it was to say the least, freaking amazing. Im now about 98% done and starting hardware/software integration. Hopefully by this weekend I’ll have a fully functioning G seat. merlin, the parts of your seat cover are cut, I just gotta find the time to sew them up. Been working on the seat…

There is another option...The Bergison G seat. It incorportates both motion and the feeling og pulling G's. Bergison's Site You can buy the plans for 100 euro and then build it yourself. I am 80% done building mine but have all of the parts and total so far I have spent around $1500 . I got to try one out at a co-creators house and holy crap...I was planning on doing it as a slow build over the coming year, but after experiencing it, I decided to go full ham and build it as fast as possible.

Got mine today, thanks K-51! haven’t got to try it out yet but did get it mounted. seems smooth and without touching the adjustment knob it stays in place with little force to move it.

So far so good it seems. been on for several hours with no black screen issues over the last week.

I have more $ than sense? (Usually when I’m drunk ordering) Lol but seriously, I decided to move to the AM5 platform for upgrade ability. I had been on AM4 since 2700 series. I am planning on getting one of the 7,000 series x3d chips when they are available. and sell my now extra MB and 7900x to my brother. as far as the initial problem I “think” it might now be resolved and it was something very, very stupid. I switched USB ports. I have a buddy staying with me who suggested it might be the reverb G2. I had an issue with the prior system of the display going black for 2-5 min but then coming back. Other users reported the volume being too high could cause an extra power draw. So I solved that by keeping the headset volume below 90%. the screen going black but not coming back could be a similar issue. On the new setup I stopped using the c port and have it in a dedicated usb 3.0 type A port and haven’t had any issues for about 48hrs. it’s ridiculous that the ports can supply up to 60W for phone fast charging but not enough power for VR headsets?!

At a minimum I would recommend 3” green foam from JoAnn fabrics. If you have an upholstery store you may be able to get denser foam. The ones that have already been purchased have been received and the response has been very positive. This is only for the fabric seat covers not the pit or foam to fill it.

Not entirely I don’t think. Asus still has not put out a new bios update so I decided to look at all the other MB manufacturers and AsRock was pumping out updates all through October into Nov. so I ordered a steel legend x670e mb and it got here on Tuesday. I quickly swapped the mb’s and got the system up and running. I left it for several hours at idle and it was fine. Loaded up non-vr DCS and let a quick mission play out for about 24hrs. No issues. then I got vr up and running and mid-way through an Apache flight it happened. screen went black, but still had sound and the GPU fans ramped to 100%. then last night I got back on and was able to do 2 instant action missions in VR. One in the Apache the other in the -18. Total of about 2.5 hours. No issues. I turned on the fps counter for both. The Apache was in Syria flying to some SA-10 site. 85-90 fps the whole time. F-18 flight was in Persian Gulf just basically a tour around the UAE 85-90 fps. this is still using the same medium settings I had before so I could compare. I have not tweaked the Nvidia settings or used open car yet but It was buttery smooth. The HMD in the -18 seemed much more crisp and smooth. It was weird.

Welp, nvm. I am having GPU crashing issues. At idle, just sitting at the desktop, the screen will go black and the GPU fans will ramp to 100%. Monitoring specs it’s not heat or power issue. GPU is sitting at 58C, 380w. I still have sound, so it’s just the GPU. Bios updated, newest Nvidia drivers. I dunno, some others on overclocking.com are having similar issues.

Managed to snag a 4090 FE this morning with delivery on Tuesday. what software are folks using to see the gpu/cpu frametimes?

Once I’m able to get a stupid GPU I’ll be sure to make some comparisons.

Because MS is leveraging their server farms. ED could never afford to build out a farm like MS has. I read somewhere that MS is basically using MSFS as a tech demo to sell their server services and MSFS is a loss-leader for them.

Everything is installed and ready to go. Just waiting on a GPU. I thought about putting my 6800xt in the build but I kinda want to start fresh with nvidia drivers. Don’t want any amd bits sticking around. may sound silly, but I can still use my current rig to play till that day comes.

I have a P300 with the mesh front and love it. but I did get a P400 mesh for my AM5 build. It’s not that much bigger but I think it’ll handle the 4090FE better. I have an xfx 6800xt in the P300 and it’s a tight squeeze. the P400 let’s you put a 120 fan at front bottom tucked inside the front plate so it doesn’t take up internal room right where the butt of the GPU would be.

Well, I have a 7900x, asus tuf x670e 32Gb of g.skill ddr5 6000 on the way. it’ll prolly be paired with a 4090. it’s replacing a 5900x and 6800xt. we’ll see how it goes I guess.

Is the target out in the open or near things? Might want to try the different laser return setting I don’t know exactly where it is but it was mentioned in wag’s hellfire video.

Everyone has seen the hook dangling but has anyone else noticed that they even modeled the front sling swivel bouncing on the M4?

It’s not related to the knee board. I never use it and my cursor remains as well.

I have figured out how to add points on the TSD and create a route, but that’s using the built in moving map. Is there a way anyone has figured out to manually input grid or lat/long?

It’s running pretty dang smooth for me. Takes a little longer to load when getting in the bird, but once everything is loaded in it’s gtg. No noticeable drops when I turn on the flir. Can’t figure out what’s wrong but can’t get the PNVS to come on. I have the NVS switch mapped to the boat switch on the warthog but I just get flir/flir in either position. 5900x 6800XT merc 32Gb 3600 reverb G2 V1

You sometimes have to do that because apparently DCS only really checks for updates once a day and its the first time you open it for the day. so if you open DCS and a patch comes out later in the day, it wont know till the next 24 hours.
