quick easy way is go to your C drive, Users, You, Saved games and if it says DCS World Open Beta, you have the beta. If it sayd DCS World, you have the stable.

going pretty quick...everyone stay off! i need the bandwidth!

I dont, just one more piece of software to have to worry about. theres already enough programs that go along with DCS

i wish there was a way that when i run the updater it doesnt automatically start my VR version of the game. it gets annoying waiting for all that crap to start up just to shut it down. someone in one of my discords just said 9-line put up a countdown timer ending at 2PM. unknown what time zone. or where he supposedly posted it...

I found it quite useful in getting the Hornet cockpit to feel right. I think mine is sitting around 55?
-
you know you can adjust that with the IPD scale in the VR tab right?

the only reason I decided to reverse my throttle was because of the AB detent on my warthog. i changed to a push-through piece and it was annoying at the higher end of collective pull (forward) hitting that bump and getting jolts of collective when it went over it. reversed, the bump is low enough in the collective throw that i can go over it, and still not be pulling enough to get airborn. so it just makes it a little easier in the regard. it took some getting used to, because i certainly did the "i need power, go forward!" and crashed a lot. lol but i think i've overcome that fairly well.

Just a quick question, did it come with the clip to connect the the two parts of the cable about 6" behind the headset?

I was not and have no idea what that is. But i e-mailed DFB and they sent me a link to their own terminal app which has everything working now. For some strange reason i have to have DCS Bios installed, but not running and just run their app.

I used a BBI-64 and BU 0386. The BU is only controlling the Pots and i had enough spots left over on the BBI-64 to add in my A/A, A/G, Master arm and a 4-way dobber i finagled in for the -16. There are about 4 inputs left on the darned thing. Then you really could have another 32 inputs on the BU if you added the breakout board.

I got a set of DFB F-18 gear and hook levers and control board but they aren’t being recognized in DCS. This is my first foray into DCS Bios and non Bodnar boards. I found the control board on com 4, the DCS Bios is connected to com 4 and when I load into DCS I can click commands in the Hub web interface and it affects the game, but not the DFB stuff. anybody got any ideas?

I got some Dog Fight Boss -18 levers today and I’m trying to wrap my brain around this bios stuff. I downloaded the “flightpanels” .zip but what do I do with it, is there an installer I need to get somewhere? I see mention of the hub, is that the original software that is no longer updated? many help would be appreciated. EDIT: Got the hub installed, and the dashboard shows connected with dcs and i can click the the "toggle" in the command library but the DFB levers arent being read. I looked up the board and its on COM 4 and is connected, but dont know what to do from here. Also, i just dropped the whole dcs-bios branch file into the scripts folder of the saved games folder, is that it? and i also already had an export file for simshaker and just added the do file command on the next line after the do file for simshaker. is that ok?

I got my buttkicker installed and hooked up. I downloaded sim shaker avaitor and paid for the add-on and got voicemeeter bananna. I have the butt kicker amp plugged into the front headphone jack on the case, desktop speakers on the MB and a wireless turtle beach headphones (which makes it more difficult because when they are off, its not a recognized device and voicemeeter doesnt automatically re-play the audio to it when turned back on) I have no idea how to "route" audio in voicemeeter or even know if the add-on is working in game. the buttkicker is getting all of the audio, not just the low bass tones. when i use the test sounds in the add-on its loud and stong, but in game its barely nothing even after tweaking the knob on the butt kicker. and again, its getting all of the audio even the speech. when i have the speakers plugged into the green port of the MB and the buttkicker plugged into the orange sub output i get nothing. If anyone can walk me through a dummy hand holding write up it would be greatly appreciated. I did order a small USB sound card which was delivered today buuuuut the package was empty. yay. so i have another one on order if it is absolutely necessary.

I mapped the AI menu commands to the index finger hat on my warthog throttle and also tried on the warthog stick, but the menu does not come up. it works with the key commands, just not the stick or throttle.

Best solution for an angled TM grip
clayvt replied to Hellbat's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
i bought both the 13 degree offset and offset+forward cant adapters from shapeways for my warthog stick. i settled on the offset+cant adapter and have been quite happy with it. the base is orientated straight ahead and horizontal and it did not have any noticeable impact on how the stick operates. the only small gripe is it will sometime stick just a hair in the forward position(due to the center of gravity), but when flying, it is a non-issue. course the warthog uses a spring base as opposed to cam like the ones you're looking at. -
Got it, Thanks!

Am i doing something wrong? when i click the link i just get a bunch of numbers not the file to print with for the HDG/CRS panel. any help would be greatly appreciated!

seat foam... what did you choose? Was it satisfactory?
clayvt replied to Rick50's topic in Home Cockpits
I got my seat foam from hobby lobby. They sell different thicknesses and I think I went with 2” and it’s been very comfortable on my plastic bucket seat from Jeggs racing. -
Welp, after finally getting them late last week (thanks postal service) I finally got around to installing my version 1’s. Only to break them on the first brake press. The spring was set on the hole closest to me. https://flic.kr/p/2jvbNz2

Shipping is going to be more for those in Europe i think. He said the company he's working with is in the U.S.

somewhere I read that bergison spent about $1500 on parts to build his seat. He was buying individual parts so if this goes into production, large part orders may bring the actual part cost down, then there's labor which he did not account for. Then there's also the software side of things. I can see this being right around the $2K mark or possibly slightly above...

Same, it feels muuuuuch smoother in my reverb. No stuttering or anything on a simple SC mission with 3AI -18’s taking off and a few targets on land.

And I finally get the not logging in thing ive seen members post about....
