Hello Today i played on a blueflag server and came up against 2 mirage 2000 that both used their jammers. I see the mirage from very far away and locked one of them, but once i got closer they starte to jam and my headsup display started to "shake" and things become harder to read. I was not allowed to use aim-120C but only 120b and m7 amram and sidwinders.. Anyway at that specific flight i only had amrams m7 so i had to keep a lock all the time to hit my target. But since the mirage jammed my plane I lost lock almost instant after i fire and missed with the two missiles i tried to fire, since the lock of the plane was on/off all the time. I am aware I have a loft attack and a visual attack and so on, but I just could not seem to make it work good enough against the mirage due to jamming.. My question, do you have a tip how to fight the mirage that jam ? And what weapon to use ? Should i just fire in visual/flood mode without having a lock ? Thank you for the answer in advance.

+1 I also like to see DCS-SimpleRadio 100% integrated into DCS world and all planes/helis. It would be nice if we did not need simpleradio as an addon, but just could tune the radio and then talk to other people ingame without requiring a mod. ;-) ( i think dcs easy radio is fantastic by the way ).

[ALREADY REPORTED]TACAN not working sometimes, multiplayer
delevero replied to memoric's topic in Bugs and Problems
I did not fly dcs since the last 2 hotfixes.. But typical when the TCN needle just spin arround and do not find anything, then the problem is wrong TCN channel OR you are very far away, or flying low inbetween mountains. it could be that the person who made the mission maybe have updated it and changed the tacan channel OR setup the carrier wrong and forgot to go into advanced waypoint and connect the tacan channel to the carrier ( name ) . Typical people use 1X or 11X or 55X for the carrier. Becourse it say example 55x in the briefing does not make it right, it could be the person who made the mission did not update the text. Also remember to check that you did not press the button A/A. You wont like my advice... But maybe try 1-55X channel and see if the channel have changed. PS.. it sometimes happen in multiplayer that someone cant find the tacan channel.. often user is the issue, but a restart of the mission might also help. -
I dont think you can split anything anymore. Reason are they made changes to some products ( new products ) that they now no longer have a key but are automatick locked to your account. ( fantastic by the way then no more trouble with activation og keys and activations ect ) Regarding the helicopter sale, then i would asume its not a package but each individual helicopter that come on sale. So you all helicopters will have a discount, and then you just buy the one you like ( as a single product ). The only product for DCS that is a package is Flaming cliff that have many planes in one product. All other products are stand alone and single products. ANyway i think you should ask support your question ;-)

ATC, lets face it... What Eagle dynamics are mostly interested in is making money and that is via planes/terrain and such. ATC i would say have a somewhat lower priority, especially the ATC we have today. ALso keep in mind that they want to implement better AI for everything in the game .. so it dont make much scence to improve the current "old" atc if they are going to implement AI and make a new AI system for planes ect ect. Just saying sometimes it might be better to start over and do things different.. the current atc system is very basic, i doubt people are gona miss it ;-) in my experience people dont really use the atc maybe becourse it is kind of bad, example in the f18c you cant even talk to atc before you engine is started and kind of stupid to ask the tower for permition to startup when engines are running ;-) and even if you ask takeoff permition then you hear nothing until you typical taxi onto the runway.. Then what is the point of an ATC if they cant ask you to hold short and wait for landing plane, or other things. In multiplayer people just mimic their own atc and over the radio state their intentions and if nobody say something then ok ready for takeoff or landing kind of thing .

Hello I am not sure if this is a bug, but it feel that way. Yesterday while under SA11 fire i fly below 20-50 feet above the ocean and my speed was about 500. All of a sudden the plane started to loose height and i pull backwards on the stick but it was impossible to break loose of the "suction" from the presure inbetween my f18c and the ocean. Right before i crash i pulled the stick 100% backwards but all i could see and feel, was that the plane was sucked down. Im not expert or know if this is realistic or not, but i do understand that near the surface presure is created that create lift for example helicopters and other types of planes such as the russian Ekranoplan that uses the presure of the air to stay airborn close above the water. Anyway is it realistic the f18 is sucked out of the air and into the ocean ?

Will be great with the integration of the helmet.. However i personaly look more forward to getting a TGP or ground radar so i can find the enemy. ( i am not really an A/A guy, i prefer A/G ). :)

Hello I like to suggest that DCS world automatic upload user settings such as keyboard/joystick files and other things to a cloud storage that are linked to their account so people do not loose their settings when updates are released or their pc break down. The dcs world settings are just some small text files so it wont require any large server or expensive costs for eagle dynamics.

I agree would be nice with some kind of mod like a 2x5 cm screen you could popup and place in the corner of the screen.. since in VR you can only see the ball for like 2-3 seconds before you land and at with so little visual help its kind of to late to adjust anything with such little margin. If you follow the CILS down all the way, then abotu 3 sec before landing look at the ball and its usefull, but els you cant see it. ( pimax 4k vr ).

Pro tip for people who have difficulty refueling.. 1). fly level and match the speed of the tanker. 2). trim to fly level. 3). Turn on the autopilot. ( this is not a joke ). Once you turn on the auto pilot, then your joystick in the plane become much less sensitive ( slow ), and it become much more easy to do fine adjustments left/right/up/down with your joystick. This tip have helped many others who had problems with refueling :smilewink:

Pro tip for refueling. Turn on the autopilot. ( its not a joke ) When you turn on the autopilot in the f18 then the controls become very slow, making it much more easy to make tiny adjustments for many people. Tip 2. fly up next to the tanker and match speed... remember the speed. Trim the plane, and fly behind it.. Turn on auto pilot once lined up where the fuel hose extend. Now you more or less most of the time only have to worry about the trust and not so much left/right/up/down motion. ;-) tip 3.. Practice refueling with the hercules kc130 its a larger more stable plane.

as standard when you load gpu bombs and use the laser they use the same std laser code... so that is properbly not the issue. Try holding in INSERT key on your keyboard all the time after you release the bomb so the L is blinking.. ( check you actual armed the laser ) Then you can check if you laser actual turn on. ( there also are some automatic laser mode but lets keep it simple ). With the tgp, make it sensor of interest ( there have to be a green box arround the screen ). Put the TGP into point mode and maybe press TMS UP short. it does not matter if it ins point or area mode your goal is to just test that your bomb is actual hit somewhere in the area you are pointing. Try to press F6 after your have released the bomb and it have been falling for 5 sec..... now press INSERT and hold the key. You should now see if the bomb start to behave different and look at the target.. if it does success. Its been a while since i fly the a10 and used gbu, so im a bit rusty.. But I would imagine you just aim the camera at the ground and example select point mode and then drop the bomb and hold insert then the bomb do the rest.

Twitch2DCS - Simple twitch chat UI inside DCS
delevero replied to Jabbers_'s topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Update, i think i found out why it did not work.. I ofcourse had to unzip it and I did that correctly, and i also ingame under the settings special tab enter my twitch name and code. However I did something wrong with the code. You have to I am having a similar problem.. I unzipped the zip file. But i also cannot find the file. Instead i start dcs and go to option and press special and there i enter my twitch name and stream code. In step 2 i say Start DCS and go to Options -> Special -> Twitch2DCS and input your username and Twitch oauth key from TwitchApps.com make sure you include the "oauth:" text. (You may need to restart DCS after this) After i visit the website and enter my twich stream code and generate the require new code then i did not longer get the below error code on my screen.. -------------previous text --------------- When i start dcs i vr i see the chat message but it do not relay the chat from my stream ( exampple if i write test then it do not see test ingame ) I only see the twitch UI in the top left corner. I get this error in the main menu of dcs [string "C:\Users\your-name\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Twitch2DCS.lua"]:236: loop in gettable maybe i did something wrong :) -
The intel 8700K is properbly one of the best gaming cpu's you can get. It have a boost up to 4700mhz 6 cores / 12 threats. You cant go wrong with that cpu. https://ark.intel.com/products/126684/Intel-Core-i7-8700K-Processor-12M-Cache-up-to-4_70-GHz Personaly i have the amd ryzen 1800x overclocked to 3800mhz and turbo is above 4300mhz. ( actual i did not notise ) it have 8 cores / 16 threats There are newer ryzen cpu's that run faster than my chip out of the box, but i just overlocked/tuned mine and then its just as fast. I can easy run dcs with VR and most things on max, and stream to witch, and talk via discord and many other things at the same time without any issues. When i dont use Vr i can run dcs on max resolution and quality without any issues at all.. it run like a dream. ( my ram 3200mhz 16gb ) nvidia 1080 gtx.. ( tip upgrade firmware and it will run faster in vr ). PS.. ryzen threadripper are a waste of money for gaming... read some reviews about it to learn more PPS... most games are actual still designed to run with quad core cpu's.. You see when someone design a game they design it so everyone with an ordinary average pc can play it well.

Can never get a good CCIP solution with SnakeEyes
delevero replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Tip for hitting something with ccip and example ordinary mk82 ( they are actual not that bad and actual hit what you aim for most of the time.. ) make a steep diver such as 45 degree and you should see the ccip cross even from a high altitude. The hornet calculate wind automatic by the way so where you aim is pretty much where you will hit. Keep in mind that dumb bombs are not precission ammonition but you will hit the area. regarding snakeyes that have drag, then you need a little bit of angle for best result. Try to experiment with the speed/angle/height. -
Hello This bug/issue is related to both VR and multiscreen and players who play in window mode. The problem is that even if you use the ingame feature to limit the mouse to the game window, then the mouse can be "forced" outside the game window very easy. Especially when you play in VR and window mode then you all the time move the mouse outside the window and if you click something then your joystick stop working and the game first work once you move the mouse back and click somewhere in the game... in vr this is very annoying. I am aware we can just alt+enter and play in fullscreen... However when streaming and playing in vr i can only play in window mode els the steamin will not work becourse of VR ( for some stupid reason ) Anyway the same goes for people with multiscreen who have the game on one screen and then example radios or chat/voice or other stuff on another monitor... Solution..: the ingame limit mouse feature inside window need to be adjusted so the mouse are stopped 1cm before it reache the top/bottom/left/right of the window.. Maybe even allow the user to press a hotkey such as left+esc to unlock the mouse form the window, and left+esc to lock it again. TIP..: there is a work arround with using freeware software that can be used in VR / window mode / and if you use more than 1 monitor. What it does is locking the mouse inside a specific window, example dcs. And to go outside of the box you can setup a hotkeys to turn off/on the lock of the mouse. So personaly now i can play in window mode while in vr and my mouse never leave dcs... I use the software http://www.snakebytestudios.com/projects/apps/cursor-lock/ It can automatic lock the mouse when dcs start and such... however I just like to alt+tab into the software and unlock/lock it there manual. Just I just enter the dcs path into open program lock program lock region ( window ) and then i click the box "force lock " That is it.. not sure i did it 100% correct but it work. ;-) ( just alt+tab out of dcs and lock/unlock... if you close the program by accident, then you can in windows start find the software named cursor lock and there is an unlock link.... ( or exit dcs ))

Hi forum. The other day i updated the firmware of my nvidia gtx 1080 graphics card. This have improved fps allot, and especially in VR i got like 20fps more. After my success i told my friends about my 1080 gtx now run faster and better with dcs and they also installed this firmware update. And they also say that their game now run more fluent and with higher fps. There for i Like to share my finding with you, so you also can get better performance. Keep in mind that a firmware update is not an ordinary graphics driver update. This is an update that update everything inside of the video card that control the cards hardware and make things work. The firmware update is offical and pretty safe to use, but here are my advice about things to know before you update.. 1). turn off antivirus, and DOT NOT use your computer while it update.. just sit and wait and click upgrade when asked. 2): Keep monitoring the update, and after it run the first check where it say something about your card can be upgraded do you want to upgrade, then click yes. Now dont touch your computer, and DO NOT turn off the power. If power goes while you update the firmware you 1080gtx might stop working forever. 3): after update is complete ( takes af few minutes ) then shut down your computer so you get black screen and your computer is off. 4). Now to be 100% sure the upgrade did not save something in memory of hte computer, then pull out the power cable in your wall plug so the computer get 0 power... now wait 3-5 minutes and you can use your computer. ( a friend of mine had black screen the first time he start after the update, and the no power advice help him make his computer work ). Anyway, its not complicated at all, so forgive my long text ;-) here is the update ( other nvidia cards can also benefic from this update of firmware, you can find information on the website what models are compatible ) https://www.nvidia.com/object/nv-uefi-update-x64.html All supported graphics cards are NVIDIA TITAN Series: TITAN X (Maxwell), TITAN X (Pascal), TITAN XP GeForce 10 Series: GeForce GT 1030, GeForce GTX 1050, GTX 1050Ti, GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1070Ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080Ti GeForce 900 Series: GeForce GTX 950, GTX 950Ti, GTX 960, GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980Ti GeForce 700 Series: GeForce GTX 745, GTX 750, GTX 750Ti PPS.. i am not responsible if something goes wrong when you make the firmware update.. it is an official update, and firmware updates are now a days very stable.. BUT in care cases firmware upgrades/updates can go wrong... As i said now a days its more safe than ever and much hardware have a build in reverse to factory firmware fail safe and wont update the card if the firmware update did not install 100% correctly.

Hard time Dogfighting MiG-15, F-86 and M2000
delevero replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
tip..: many pilots in dcs end up in a never ending turn doing 360 turns after the enemy or likewise. dont go arround in a circle all the time in a dogfight, and as david oc write above then 360 knots of speed is a good speed in a dogfight. I recommend watching some videos on youtube about dogfights and tips/tricks :) -
Yes the a10 is a good plane and you really get allot for your money, since there are tons of features. Its beautifull, very advanced and what i hear from real a10 pilots then its as close to real life as it gets ( minus the secret stuff ). And it can carry a huge amount of weapons. The only bad things about the a10 is really that it fly a bit slow ;-) If you consider the a10 you also need to know the following and here are my tip. 1). DO NOT try to learn everything in one go/try, then you will break your neck and give up and never learn it.. many people have bought the a10 and given up. So follow one tutorial and then learn and study and practice it again and again until you know how to do it.. Remember to have fun, so how about "cheat" start your a10 and go flying as the very first thing.. you will be able to use the gun, and fire rockets without much problems. But for the rest of the plane you need to study and learn first... But remeber have fun !! 2). the most important feature in the game is the TGP ( targeting pod ) system. This is the key to finding the enemy and using the a10 effeciently. So you especially need to be an expert in the TGP system above anything els in the plane.. The TGP have many sub modes such as "look at waypoint" ( you need to master this feature it make it much more easy to look at the target area and find the enemy ). you need also to learn the basic skill in the a10 with making a sensor a priority... basic what that means are you need to get a green box arround your "computer display" and then you can move the camera and change many other features such as map range or the camera. 3). The next very usefull but non essenstial skil is to learn how to look at something and create a "mark point"... this is handy since you can fast slew your TGP to look at enemy 1-2-3-4-5 and easy find them again on the ground. And once you get good at it, you can fire example 4 maveric in a few seconds, or drop jdams at different targets at once. But again with the a10 learn one thing at a time, the most important is to have fun so you dont break your neck and give up. How about just auto cheat start your plane, then everything is ready to go and you can select a few bombs and go to the shooting range before you dig down and study and learn. ;-) ( ps... you need to setup the keys named TMS short TMS long and other such buttons.. you use these to make markpoints and slew the camera and many other things so setting up the joystick is actual very important.. You dont have to map everything to your joystick, just the most important functions and then you can add stuff as you learn new skills. ). PRO tip..: If you do this wrong the autopilot will not work.. When you allign ( the plane find the gps location ) then it is VERY important it finish this and count to 4.4.4 i think .. ( it stop counting you will know ) this take about 4-5 minutes.. ).

i did not read all the previous replys in the post, but i just want to say.. Did you guys notise that after the hotfix today 03 august that we now have Aim-120C missiles ( and not only B ) ;-) Ps.. we can carry 12 aim-120c missiles.... now the f18c are an effective killing machine that you dont want to fight.

First of all make sure all of your bombs are set to auto, so that you did not select a bomb that was not in the auto mode ;-) Next select your waypoint and press the button on the HSI that show you the diamon shaped waypoint in your hud. ( this is not required but a nice feature making it more easy to line up and find the target area ) Also check that the diamond and waypoint are at ground level . Select the bomb, and AG mode, and master arm on. Finaly press the sensor control switch FWD button on your joystic ( then button that in aa mode create a round small cirled in your hud ) and now you should get the automatic line that you are talking about. ( the key is ALTgr+ ; i think ) I hope this point you in the right direction.. ;-)
-
maybe. Select your carrier.. and name it something Example Carrier 1 in the advanced waypoint turn on the ICLS and on the same page, there is an option where you can select Unit ( something like that ) There you have to select carrier 1 now the ICLS and Carrier1 are linked together.

I can confirm that you can slew your radar range up/down i did it about 2 houres ago.

1). PRO TIP..: I fly with people who find it difficult to refuel, so i figured out that their main problem was that they had problems with their height and over reacted with the controls near the tanker. So i came up with the idea for them to turn on the autopilot and press altitude hold and barometic hold... The reason it when auto pilot is active the controls become very slow., it become more easy to make very small adjustment with your joystick. And that is the most important regarding refueling to only do small adjustments. ( the autopilot trick do not work in all planes, but in the f18c it does ) Now everyone i fly with can air refuel ;-) 2) tip... Before you refuel fly close to the tanker and find out the speed of the tanker and remember the speed. Also practice tanking at different height and speed by the way. 3). Trim the plane before you start to refuel so you fly streight and level. All in all the goal is to make the plane fly level and then focus on controling the power and worry less about up/down left/right. The less you have to worry about the more easy it is.. 4). once the above is mastered, then try to notise how far you are from the tanker when refueling and example find fix points on the plane.. example when you look out though the headsup display, maybe you could aim to the left of the engine to keep the direction more easy by following a point on the engine... and about height, maybe you could use part of the canopy frame and find a point on the top of the wing and then try to keep the heading and height constant that way. 5). practice practice and practice... example practice 1 time everyday then after a few days you have learned how to do it ;-) PS... also avoid flying directly behind the jet engines... ;-) fly a bit lower once you are connected or a little to the left of the engine to avoid turbulenc. Personaly My air refueling is perfect every time.. It do happen I get to close and then the hose loose connection, but that is kind of rare and i just slide back a little bit and it connect again. I dont tuse the autopilot trick or trim my self but are able to air refuel without... But it is some good advice though. But yes the small refuel planes is by far the most difficult, while the kc130 is more easy and my prefered refuel plane.
