  1. No, but at the same time I'll never say "plane X has a lower RCS because of plane Y" RCS is not a straight cut and done deal
  2. Pssst... a lot of the frontal cross section is the spinny engine blades. It's not just looking at the plane and calling it a day.
  3. It's useless to ask, don't expect anything big unless officially announced, it may take a full year.
  4. It shouldn't be though, that's with AG radar off too, with AG radar on there's spikes everywhere in frametime and it struggles to even make 27 fps :(
  5. I will make a dedicated thread to this once I have better numbers, but honestly the JF-17 performs worse than any other module in DCS! in VR, yesterday: F-18 free flight held 40 fps steady JF-17, same settings, struggled to get 27!! i7 4790, GTX 1080, 32gb of ram, 0.8 pixel density and 128% SteamVR SS. No MSAA, medium-high settings (kept shadows on)
  6. The point is, they can't just willy-nilly swap stuff over right now considering the source they have gives them a complete schematic of how everything works. It's probably a euro version of the Litening pod if I had to guess. Maybe sometime in the feature...
  7. Maybe stop flying with flaps out? It's normal for such a high speed aircraft to shake a lot with so much added drag. Even on an airliner when the flaps come down you feel it in your guts.
  8. The JF isn't really meant as a front line dog fighter, you see how it struggles to match power even with the F-18, and you think it can "easily" beat a plane like the EF, which is pretty much an F-22 in handling and thrust? Seriously?
  9. Same. SSLR makes zero difference to me. Reshade alone makes lighting look much better and it has zero performance cost, for example.
  10. pretty much nobody has turned it on, common knowledge that if you want to play, especially VR, you're going to want to turn off all the fancy effects
  11. 10% is not marginal and it cannot be linked to "lighting changes" : seriously, you guys have seen the new lighting? It doesn't change anything aside from seeing glowy textures further away. There's nothing that projects shadows or that would reduce performance.
  12. The shader mod murders behind the scenes a lot of postprocessing stuff. Water, cockpit lighting and reflections, all lose a huge amount of fidelity, so it's a bit hard to know for sure what works and what doesn't.
  13. Daily reminder Vulkan is, 99%, not coming in 2020. So don't call it out as if it was a fix, it's far, far away.
  14. You do realize this update was sent out with internal only merges that accidentally went public? This is like saying you'd be a perfect chef if you can point out that you can't make pasta sauce with excrement. Maybe, just maybe, people are saying this because it's obvious to everyone?
  15. Guys, just turn down the brightness a bit and increase contrast. The new lighting system makes the lighting knobs actually serve a purpose, I usually to just shoot them to 100% and leave them there, now I don't. That's all.
