Actually Ka-50 is classified as a heavy reconnaissance helicopter.

This truly is an accurate statement, new year for Russians is about two week celebration.

Microcontrollers compatible with virpil grips?
GIGA_HORSE replied to GIGA_HORSE's topic in Home Cockpits
Thanks mate! -
Do these exist? Have a little project in mind using a new constellation grip (once it becomes available) and I just need a controller to interface with it.

Neural network fun with DCS
GIGA_HORSE replied to bpremus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow your is awesome. It would amazing if someone can create an AI to operate ground units for MP servers. Occupy a tac Commander slot and control units' behavior. Such as hide them from cas attacks, turn off and of radar to evade SEAD strikes, stuff like that. I'm not a programmer, so I don't understand how it all works, but just wandering how hard would it be to make something like that? -
I can't figure out the HSD, RWR, I would get an audible "tracking" warning without visual representation on HSD, so I have no idea where it is coming from.

Doesn't work, I did auto start on GS server and couldn't get chaff or flare firing

[WIP] Helicopters are invisible to JF-17 radar
GIGA_HORSE replied to GIGA_HORSE's topic in Bugs and Problems
it doesn't work, i've tried. If you can, please upload a video demonstrating how to do it. The only way I've managed to have a helicopter show up on my radar or lock it up is after I fired an SD-10 at it Mad dog style, so idk if SD-10 is broadcasting to mothership or what, but unless I fire an SD-10 first within a visual range there is no way I can have it show up on the radar -
No matter how I tried, in every radar mode, nothing happens. Interestingly though the SD-10 sees helicopters and is able to lock on after release if I am close enough

Dear Deka Ironworks, I just want to say that your module is amazing, top-notch work. Even if there are some bugs, you'll work them out soon and everything will be awesome. I absolutely love your idea of using mark points from F10 map prior takeoff and uploading them to data cartridge. However since in MP, these mark points are shared between players, will it cause a problem uploading coordinates if there are ten "PP1" mark points from different people. I haven't played in MP in JF17 yet, so if there is a solution to this then awesome if not then I have a suggestion for a possible solution. To differentiate which mark points belong to whom how about including a call sign. So it would look something like this "PP1 104" or "PP2 Uzi 11" something like that. This way my JF 17 will upload only those mark points that belong to me. Just a thought.

I don't think it matters when you are 2nm away from the helicopter in a dog fight vertical scan mode, coaltitude.

Yeah, infuriating is a very strong word, I would say, considering how much this module has compared to other modules, bugs are expected and will be fixed in time.

Tpod is bugged. I was able to get a Tpod on my MFD while not having it equipped on my aircraft I was able to make it work by turning on CLDP circuit breaker and then pressing lock target. Also masking is seems off too, it appears as if it does not get masked by its own body, it can look 180 degrees behind, while having it's lens completely hidden behind the rest of the pod. when I change azimuth angle on A2G radar, it goes bonkers, starts flashing and twitching. Also, can't lock a helicopter with a radar within a visual range
-
Yeah RWR works fine, I was referring to actual sam locations that you get in A2A mode
-
So I was trying to figure out the data link, it seems that only NATO AWACS contributes to data link. Russian A50 does not. Also, I was trying to bind right MFD's 1st and 2nd button to joystick so I could quickly cycle through range on HSD/SA page, but I couldn't make it work. Next question, when I'm in A2A mode SA page displays locations of SAM sites, however when I switch to A2G mode SAMs (and airplanes) disappear of the SA page. Is that a bug, or this is how it's suppose to be?

So I used previous version of ReShade and it worked ok, but did lag and crash occasionally. But after I tried to install 4.4.2 but the game crashes on launch, any thoughts on why this is happening? dcs.log-20191128-014035.zip edit: figured it out, had to manually delete files from previous version prior installing current one.

Well, So I flew one sortie, shot all of my vikhrs, came back to FARP rearmed and flew to another target zone and the flight was over 30 minutes long so I assume the laser had enough time to cool down. But I guess after doing some digging on the forum it appears the laser has a finite amount of shots before it blows out. Am I understanding this right? Does using laser for ranging decrease it's lifespan?

Hello, So I've been flying Ka50 for quite a while and am pretty comfortable with the bird, however lately I have noticed strange vikhr behavior when playing online. I would lock a target with Shkval, the target is in range, no obstacles between me and the target, broad daylight and when I release a vikhr it does not follow the laser beam and just falls into the ground. I know if I shot ML-25 before vikhrs I need to press LA reset. But this behavior happens occasionally when I am carrying only Vikhrs and LA reset does not work. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Logic of JDAM pages on MFD, need help understanding
GIGA_HORSE replied to Fisherman82's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Can you please explain what do you mean different burst height, I am not sure I understand it -
I have the same problem, no matter what I've tried I can't get them to hit multiple targets in one pass. I've been using Tpod to input coordinates.

So lately i noticed DCS freezes, rather frequently, not sure why, it just started to happen recently. I attached a bug report, not sure how to read it. dcs.log-20191012-204842.zip

Need help with building a collective stick using arduino.
GIGA_HORSE replied to GIGA_HORSE's topic in Home Cockpits
That actually would be awesome, as I mentioned earlier I want to design (well, attempt to design) a PCB in Easyeda.com and mount most of the components directly on to it. When I was building my current one, I had a lot of trouble mounting multidirectional switches and a thumbstick. Had to come up with some crafty solutions, but at the same time cumbersome and ugly. Although I'll have to do a lot of prototyping on a breadboard for a while since nothing is cut and dry when trying to DIY something. I think this is the chip and schematics that increases the resolution to 12. I don't have steam looking.:no_sad:, but I am on discord pretty much all the time, my username is GasMachine #7128. -

GIGA_HORSE replied to GIGA_HORSE's topic in Home Cockpits
Oh yeah, can't wait for mi-24, also can't wait for the Ka-50 updated cockpit and Igla missiles. I based my collective off Ka-50's collective. For two axis I used pot's with detents and then with the help of Joystick Gremlin I was able to turn them into encoders with 11 positions each. When I fly my Ka-50 it's a true HOTAS experience. So the boards that are compatible with mmJoy, are they all 10bit axis resolution and is the difference only in the number of pins? My knowledge of electronics is fairly basic, I can wire things up, but don't have a clear understanding of why things work lol. I will need to do some reading on how the shift registers work in conjunction with an Arduino or other similar boards. Do you have schematics of the PCB with registers? Is this a correct schematic? Thanks for the help, really appreciate it. This is definitely very challenging for me but at the same time pretty fun. -

I did get BU0836X, which turned out to be too big. Never heard of MMJoy before, but after doing a little looking around it seems like what I need. So, basically MMJoy is used to program the Arduino directly, or do I still have to go trough IDE and code things myself? Currently, I have ELEGOO MEGA 2560, but it seems like it won't work with MMJoy. My plan is to completely redesign the internals of the collective, the location of buttons is fine, but the wiring is a total mess. I was thinking of designing my own PCB on EasyEDA.com so that I could solder some of the buttons directly on to the board, this way the mounting should be easier and reduce the wire spaghetti. My box is 5 x 3 x1.5 in Braeden108, if you could help, that would be awesome. Since I want to have at least 32-36 buttons, shift registers will probably be a way to go
