Helios 1.4 - Taking to the Skys Once Again
PSYKOnz replied to BluFinBima's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Will do, what exactly is it? Another Helios type program? It’s a pity Helios dosent have a profile for them, kind of don’t like having loads of different programs for similar things lol but I’m interested to see what it can do -
hi there guys, I was wondering if someone out there had the cheat sheet version of the 2 checklists (?) that are on the main panel. just a quick what does each one mean (some are obvious) and what is the setting should be as part of the check. I have not read the NATOPS FLIGHT MANUAL and I don't really intend to, but I would love it if someone out there who has, or a real-world pilot could educate my simple brain as to the procedure (?) and settings here is the takeoff one here is the land one cheers

ok, seeing as I can't find one how do I go about building a spitfire one? as far as I can see there are no ww2 style gauges, in terms of look or units, is there a way to fake it? lol -

I feel your pain bro, I build A lot our missions in both DCS and ArmA. Sometimes it feels like I spend more times in editors than I do in game lol -

Oh wow, I must apologise, humbly and whole heartedly. I was completely unaware of the placement. I had just assumed that they were random spawns like the aircraft. Shows how ignorant I am! Let me just say, your hard work is really really appreciated. Your missions have brought a great deal of fun and enjoyment to my Crew we have been playing it daily at the moment and just loving it Thank you for making these missions mate. You’ve done a brilliant job -

awesome thank you for this, is there a way to do the same with SAMs as well? Maybe limit the number of units or the Sam types? Some of the more modern SAMs make it a bit tough for a little group like mine -
so, always fuse N/T and only turn the laser on when the bomb is much closer to target, anything else? what's a good/ideal release hight/speed?
-
the trouble is tracking, we are having a real hard time with track consistency, with budylase from either f16 or f18, all-laser codes have been correct some times the bomb tracks sometimes it doesn't, some times the damn thing goes past the target then turn hard to come back and hit the target, sometimes il looks like it's trying to climb up the beam. we just cant figure out what we are doing wrong! I can't find any decent guidelines anywhere, hoping the community can help wow, what an epic bit of information, thank you for this :)
-
through testing, I can't seem to get uniform results, what are the fusing settings for the GUB's sometimes they track some times they don't nose, nose tail or doesn't matter? GBU 10 GBU 12 GBU 16 GBU 24 apparently the 24s don't work at the moment but if it has changed what would the ideal setting be? also, is there an ideal release window for them if so what?

hi there, I have a small question, if it has been asked before please just link me to the answer, is it possible to turn down the amount and regularity of enemy aircraft? it just seems like perpetual unending waves of aircraft, and by that I mean, you shoot down one flight and there is already another flight there to take its place, most of the time they arrive before you've even shot down the first flight, so there is just no way to do anything without a huge friendly cap to keep the opfor air even close to under control. we are a small group of no more than 10 members, most of the time we only have 2-4 of us and the way the opfor air is in the mission is just too much for us -

oh, I do have one question though, while I'm in the neighbourhood, does anyone know of a good spitfire profile/template? -

Awesome. thank you all for your help with this, this program has changed the way I play DCS for the better, I have a sim-pit based on the f14, It's still a WIP but at this stage, I have the ACM, left upright and right upright panels sorted, I'm slowly working my way back through the switches, I also have a screen which is very close to the right size for gauges and the like, I will soon be upgrading that to one that is pretty much perfect but the quarantine has delayed it somewhat. the small issue that I had with Capt Zeens template was that it made everything too small for my pit, after your help I was able to modify the profile to make it fit pretty well into my pit (when the new monitor comes along it will be spot on) I'm deliriously happy with it. here's what it looks like now I sincerely hope that what I have done is on and has not breached any rules or regulations. if I have I am deeply sorry, this small tweak to capt Zeen's mind-blowingly good template has made the whole helios experience even better than it was, which was brilliant from the start so thank you a million times over BluFinBima, Capt Zeen and the other developers and contributions to this program, you have done an amazing job and brought a lot of joy to this tomcat nut. many safe returns :) -

Newb Question hi there guys, first of all, thank you to all the devs of this mod it has been a game-changer for me. however, I have a few questions... first, let me preface this by saying that I have not read all the pages of this forum, I just haven't had the time, if they have been answered just link me :) sorry for not reading it all I have 2 questions: can I resize the f14 template to cut out gauges I don't want/need on my screen looking for something like this also, I see in the editor there are, a10,f18,f16 av8b etc gauges, is there/will there be an f14 pack of gauges coming out soon? sorry for my newbness in this post, hopefully, I haven't annoyed you too much, looking forward to your reply :) -
You sir are a champion thank you a million times over! I see you too have an NZ at the end of your name, stay safe and good luck with the shut down

Sim pit question... How hard is the pull on the ejection handle behind the stick? I know the travel is 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch but how hard is it to pull? 1kg? Half a kg? A ton? (Lol) does anyone have an idea? I’m intending on using some springs or a limb under tension to simulate the weight and travel of the leaver. Any numbers would be amazing, Cheers guys

Trying to do exactly this at the moment and fuel too. Looks like Helios is the only option, I would love it if it was as easy as viewports, either way I’ll let you know how I get on Wonder if heatblur could help us with this??

Export Altitude, Airspeed and fuel to a second screen?
PSYKOnz replied to PSYKOnz's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Bugger, I was hoping it would be as easy as the rwr -
hello guys and gals of tomcat land, I'm building a sim pit and I need/want to export the listed instruments to the "instrument panel" screen I have the TCS, VDI and RWR exported but I have no idea how to export the Fuel, Airspeed and altitude to the screen or if it's even possible how do I go about exporting those instruments?
-
I have been trying and trying to replicate this issue but nothing seems to be doing it, either it was a bug and has since been patched out or I'm just flying better and haven't broken the thing
-
holy crap there a lot of requests there hahaha

has anybody recently mentioned this in the wishlist forum?
