  1. Did that, and it still crashed, and then discovered an errant mod folder in my "tech" folder in the saved games, works a charm again, thank you for your help and assistance !
  2. I've just started having issues where I cannot quit a mission without the game freezing and I have to then use task manager to quit. dcs.log

    Bugs VA / Vaicom pro

I'm having issues after the past couple of updates with the F18C, when I tune the radio in, both UHF and VGH to 127.500 and call "Stenis" .."Inbound" I no longer hear the response, even trying to "call the ball" on finals it doesn't seem to transmit, but the LSO will talk me down, and grade me? Weird.
  4. Can we keep this page for Admiral's releases, other mods should have their own pages for talking points, it's derailing Admirals work , progress and release page
  5. Yeah, I believe it's the sea sparrow, I did another scenario of 6 A4E's against 2 Leanders, the A4's never got their bombs off their racks.. I've opted to go for the all black hull due to the translucence of the water, they look not too bad, I'm hoping to have this released very soon, when I say soon, I'm looking at the next 2 weeks (sounds familiar lol) What you will need is 7Zip to extract the Liveries, as there's almost 50 RN different liveries for the RN ships (26 base Leanders, 13 exocet Leanders, 4 Exocet Towed arrays, and 4 Leander class towed arrays ) , winzip just wasn't compressing enough.
  6. The beauty of testing stuff like this out is that you can get to throw up "challenges" 13 Exocet carrying Leanders against 2 Chinese destroyers, who were able to hold their own until their CWIS ran out of ammo, then the Exocets (Harpoons) smashed them.. The AI for the Ships are not that smart either, they wont break off formation, even if one's crippled.. From a personal perspective, the Mods achieved so much more than what I originally hoped for.. I was Happy enough to get 2 working Leander models looking mega in game... I can't thank Hawkeye60, CrazyEddie, and Admiral189 enough for their contributions.
  7. The model parts unfortunately are as is, it would mean modelling the seacat system from scratch, I'm taking hawkeye60 away from his other projects as is, using what's modelled is the compromise, Hawkeye created the extended flight deck for the towed array exocets already..believe me, the mod has already grown arms and legs beyond what was intended lol The Bacchante you're looking at in the picture is a tester only, if you look closer, she has the ASW mortar on the focsle as well, the default texture for the Leanders was for HMS Bacchante I will post pictures of the full line up tomorrow mate, it's 0110 here in Iraq, so time to get my fat napper down!!
  8. In the initial release, which will be massive due to all the liveries (unless you all want to have the classes split up?) The focus will be for Royal Navy vessels for initial release, the rest (maybe) will be done in 2022 26 RN 4.5" gun liveries for all initial Leander class's 13 RN Exocet liveries 4 RN standard class towed arrays, even though they didn't actually exist, the towed array is eye candy only anyway. 4 RN Exocet towed arrays the 5th (HMS Arethusa, was in Ikara conversion, which sadly we don't have a model for) All of them have the new style working wakes I'm of mixed opinion about the Brick Red anti-fouling hulls, but the all black also looks pretty mega as well, Hawkeye60 will look at converting all 4 variants and I will make a decision once I check them out.
  9. That's the Ikara conversion on HMS Leander, but yes, the DCS sea texture doesn't help, it's too transparent. I don't believe it would take that much to lower the whole ship to Midway on the Black waterline, Hawkeye is the man for that, as he's doing the modelling and animations part, I'm just doing the textures.
  10. I could ask Hawkeye60 to lower them a little
  11. Damage/Collision model works well..
  12. Time for an update, as we're nearing a release.. Not going to lie, the mod is going to be a large initial release, as it features Hi res liveries for all 26 basic Royal Navy Leanders, 12 configured for exocets, and 4 for the towed array versions. She can be sunk, takes a fair bit depending on what's fired at her, but YJ84's are lethal !
  13. It's literally what he wrote, as I just did the same, I edited mine throught notepad ++ leander_class.lods.ship_wake
  14. Joey45, do you just add the wake shape edm into your ship folder to get it working? or is there a requirement within the lua to point to it? Interested in applying this to the Leander class frigates I'm working on.. Disregard, sussed it out, you need the .wake.edm file to be named the same as the ship model class.
  15. 100% agree, the bow wake push by the Kilo's are pretty awesome, would love yo see that effect too.
  16. Not at all, you would have to be very heavy handed to go from idle to cutoff, as it's pretty noticeable.

    Any news?

Oh yeah, actually when I was there 23 sqd were till flying FGR2's and watching them do the Track-Ex up through the valleys towards Mount Alice was pretty amazing. Mt. Alice used to have a rapier battery based there, but after it was removed, the RAF still their Track-Ex's, and they'd see how low they could get over the golf balls, often low enough that they knock the various paques off the walls in the little bar up there !! They used to call us up and ask " How many?" as in how many plaques fell off the walls... mental, these pilots would have no problems flying 50' off the deck either.. I recall being on a Patrol on one of the Islands, and HMS Ambuscade was patrolling around the same area, and this FGR2 came out of nowhere, doing 400+knots, I felt I could have touched the damn thing, and she popped flares as she pulled up over the Ambuscade.. I really enjoyed my 4 month tour down there.. had some great laughs.

    Any news?

I was there 86/87, and it was barren and unforgiving, with 4 seasons showing up daily, there were no trees at all on West Falklands I was based out of Fox Bay, and only the odd small one on East Falklands, in and around Port Stanley. If it's realism you want, then no trees.. LOL even South Georgia had Feck all.
  20. Just to whet your appetites. Initial release will be Royal Navy frigates, with both 4.5" guns ( All 26 of them!) and the Exocet fit versions ( I believe there was 12 of them)
  21. In Collaboration with Hawkeye60, Admiral189, and Crazy Eddie, we're proud to be announcing a project that will hopefully stir up some old memories for all the old sea dogs out there. I purchased this model from CGTrader, and wanted so much to see her in game, and I approached the resident Ship SME's and boy, they didn't half deliver.. Watch this space.... release date .....soon!!! UPDATE: MOD RELEASED Base Leander https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320020/ Royal Navy Livery pack https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320021/
  22. +1 from me too
  23. I don't suppose you ever considered that the handling between China and your destination was a contributing factor of the USB becoming loose? If it's a structural weakness, then every other single Orion would have this issue that came from the same batch. All too easy for a delicate solder job to break loose if the package wasn't handled with care, and as pointed out before, mass production of any item, there's always a % that slips through QC, I've seen plenty of horror video's ( baggage handlers throwing items into holds) to support such instances, there's no doubt you had an issue, nobody was disputing that, and good you got it fixed. Mustang I believe suggested opening it up and soldering it yourself, and it would seem you took it to a repair shop who did that, I personally think you did get a bad deal, but I also believe your hostility and rudeness didn't help.. but happy for you that it's working, so enjoy..
