  1. have you tried loading someone else profile? Try to load these, they're a mixture of several, I use the pinky button as my modifier to switch from view mode, to trim, till I get my Head track sorted. Joystick - HOTAS Warthog.diff.lua Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.diff.lua
  2. No, the module isn't broken, but you've given very little details in which people can help, what make and type is the Throttle? Did you save the profile you created, then exit, then retry the key binds.and axis checks?
  3. superb!!!!!
  4. Yeah, it's a pain in the arse, the default Case 1 for Persian Gulf and I'm sliding into parked aircraft as well as the nose wheel steering not as friendly since the last update, and now a fix every 2nd week..
  5. Okay, I'm getting better at my case 1's but as always this massive pitch down effect when dropping full flaps irks me. By the book says drop the gear at 250, and then full flaps.. I get a massive pitch down effect this way. I'm trying to avoid this and then trying to set pitch right with trim, by this time I'm normally < 200 knots. Everything is sweet when I can get her settled around 125-140 knots depending on fuel. Any pointers to avoid this massive pitch down, and I've read in several places now this effect isn't accurate either?

    NVGs for F18

It depends on how you've set the focus on real NVG's, the depiction is accurate. NVG's don't have a wide FOV. The focal point in this picture appears to the the HUD

    NVGs for F18

according to other pilots they prefer NOT to wear NVG's for night landing, as they lose depth perspective.
  8. That's some pretty cool pics there Bonedust, thanks, I used the words "apparently" as I read somewhere on here that their hooks were either removed, or disabled, which surprised me as I used to build the Hasegawa F18C's and had about 4-5 of them, and there was never any instructions to remove the hook.
  9. Because they apparently don't have arrestor hooks for starters, and limited carrier qualified pilots secondly :D Actually I looked closer and mine are Australian F18's it's possibly down to the order in the way which the default AI F18 textures are stored in the liveries folder ?
  10. yes I could, but I shouldn't have needed to :music_whistling: since when did CF18's operate off US Carriers ?? :megalol: if you're striving for realism with the game/sim, that also includes the attention to the smaller details, like having the right aircraft operating off the right platform :D
  11. Is it just me, or has everyone else got Canadian F18's on the deck of the Stennis, for the Cat1 recovery instant action mission? It's not a massive issue, but surely changing them to USN Aircraft isn't that difficult? Looks out of place. :(
  12. Is that irony I'm smelling?
  13. Is there any DCS F18 pilot signature banners kicking about??
  14. doe this work if you swap the Huey with The Black Shark helo??
  15. Skates updater isn't picking up the new update for today yet, keeps saying version .400 is the correct one.

    CBU-99

or ....on the 4th July, which would be quite appropriate :D
  17. I spent 4 months down in the Falklands in late 86 early 87, and there were literally no trees at all, I was based out of Fox Bay on West Falkland Islands, and it was bleak and barren, I don't recall ever seeing any trees on West Falklands including Saunders, and Pebble Island, if my memory serves me correct, there was a tiny patch of trees just outside Port Stanley, near Murrel River. It was a a bleak miserable place to be, despite it being their Summer, you could easily get 4 seasons in one day!! The Mountains were pretty spectacular though, especially Mount Alice, where the RAF Phantoms of 23 Squadron would have regular "Track Ex" simulated attacks, designed to test the Rapier Batteries protecting the AEW "Golf Balls" which had long been removed, but the Phantoms used to fly as low as they could over the golf balls, so that the shock wave would send shit flying all over the place inside the accommodation up there... Wildlife was spectacular, the local inhabitants were not however. South Georgia wasn't much better.. Trees would be totally inaccurate for the 1982 conflict.
  18. It's quite humbling to be on his discord, and he responds to you too.

    ATFLIR

This has been covered ad nauseum, they're not going to be implemented any faster for a "gimmick" So the Hornet is actually the 2nd best airplane sim you've played then ;)
  20. Yeah I know about the F2, that's how I've been doing it, I'd rather a visual cue that I can look left or right to know I'm lined up enough to lower the launch bar, and press U, for a more immersive feel. Thanks anyway guys.
  21. What's wrong with dumping fuel prior to entering the pattern??
  22. How do real F18 pilots know when they're inline with the shuttle for CAT launches? Are there visible cues on deck, that they know where the front wheel is or is this all controlled by yellow shirts? If this is the case, will we see something similar in the Carrier DLC ? It's not really realistic jumping from F1 to F2 to make sure you're aligned, for lowering the launch bar.

    Default DDI views?

Now that sounds like something of interest!

    Default DDI views?

I'm aware of the active pause, it's a cheat, not really a solution, do real F18 pilots enter the pattern in A/A mode, or are they set up well in advance to their landing configuration? So far nobody has said it's possible, through .lua editing to have different displays as preference to when entering free flight, or instant action mode. I'd like to have my HUD displayed on the Left DDI, TACAN on centre and HSI on the right, when I start in the air.. I'm guessing right now it's not possible then. Perhaps in the future, or save my pennies and get a new HOTAS :D
  25. Thanks Skate, very much appreciated
