The engine stop/start binding is warthog exclusive, and not available for use by other throttles without lua editing. Please update the default joystick bindings to include engine off/start. {down = iCommandLeftEngineStop , up = iCommandLeftEngineStart, name = _('Left Engine Throttle Set OFF') , category = _('Systems')}, {down = iCommandRightEngineStop, up = iCommandRightEngineStart, name = _('Right Engine Throttle Set OFF'), category = _('Systems')},

Like, what are your monitors set to, what gamma are the textures set at, are all the 3rd party devs calibrated to the same target, etc. The reason I'm asking is because I get super inconsistent brightness results particularly for atmospheric scattering and horizon bloom versus what I need gamma to be set at for cockpit visibility. If I set the in-game gamma to what seems like a reasonable value for cockpit lighting and shadow visibility (~1.8-2.2) the sky is white, not blue. Wispy clouds are impossible to see. The HUD on max brightness at altitude is almost invisible. All of which is fixed by setting the in game gamma to something ridiculously low like 1-1.2 however at that point the cockpit becomes a black pit and the instrument back-lighting effectively ceases to function. It's like there's two lighting profiles conflicting. Or like bad HDR effects on a SDR display. Please help me out here, I just want to be able to see things properly using my VR headset which has no ability to calibrate brightness or saturation and right now, particularly within the last 7-8 months of the lighting update, daytime visibility is frustratingly awful. The game world completely lacks contrast and saturation and I'd really like to be able to fix it.

Are you implying that a MSI gaming x trio is not comparable to a EVGA FTW3? How's this then. The MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 would only be $1900 after tax. By grabthar's hammer, what a savings.
-
There I have to disagree with you a bit. I bought my new MSI Gaming X Trio 2080ti for ~1100 USD. I could have bought a 3090 EVGA FTW3 for ~2000 USD shipped + tax yesterday. That's a lot more in my book. Yes I realize it's not the FE but neither was my 2080ti.

No, it's really not. It is very much 10% on average. And sometimes less in older game engines. Which are more equivalent to DCS. It really only sometimes pulls ahead in select DX12 or Vulkan titles, or with DLSS and ray tracing. That's not an opinion, it's fact. It's your money and you can do whatever you want with it, but buying a 3090 even for 4k gaming is a massive, massive waste of money and people paying 110% less than you will get 90% of the experience you do.

Mission 3 Please Give Me Numbers I am Losing My Soul

No, not if a 3080 can provide nearly the same experience for 110% less. It makes no sense, but if you've got money to burn go for it. Just don't try to sell anyone else on it, because it's pointless.

Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
FoxTwo replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not a lot of reason to use FFB on a FBW airframe. You're going to get the most out of the WW2 warbirds and the non FBW jets like the F-14. -
For whom lol people on liquid nitrogen? Are you high? Stop trying to gatekeep overclocked GPUs.

https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3090-gaming-performance-review-leaks-out 5.8% at the low end and 11.5% at the high end over a 3080. Save your money, wait for Navi or a 20GB 3080. You can get that same performance uplift by just overclocking a 3080.

Reading through some documentation I seem to recall that engaging auto throttle requires the friction lever to be completely disengaged on the throttle. Currently you can have the friction lever all the way forward and ATC will engage. I'm guessing this is because that while the friction lever does move, it doesn't actually have any effect in game.

Can you maintain this level of brigtness during the daytime while lightening the darkness layer/filter somewhat at night?
-
No appreciable difference.
-
Crushes? Beats. At 4k. By 10-30% depending on the game engine. It's good but let's not be hyperbolic, the 3080 appeal is primarily the price point.

If you think about it, a major reseller like Microcenter got 250 partner cards total for launch day. For the entire country. There is no stock. Nvidia 100% did a paper launch and they really need to be called out for it.
-
I doubt the scarcity is artificial. Crappy samsung 8nm yields combined with covid delays probably means that building up inventory just wasn't a possibility and that this is a 100% paper launch.

[NO BUG - W.I.P] Interior Lights only rendering in Right Eye
FoxTwo replied to DroptheHammer's topic in VR Bugs
I don't believe that's the case, with frustum culling disabled (which unless something changed IS the default mode) I have no problems seeing all lights in both eyes in the tomcat (floods/instruments). There's a bug where there's a hole in the cockpit (only in one eye, which is strange) but that's on HB. Check your Config\autoexec.cfg and if it's not there, add options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = false -
does that mean the AN/ASQ-213 HTS as well? It's a dumb little thing but who doesn't love pod symmetry?
-
Is the rework/refactoring of the cockpit inputs still in process? I don't see it on the list but there's a lot of switch/button bindings that either don't work properly or are missing entirely.

Not sure what you're doing that's any different than what I'm doing. Regardless, I've attached my materials.lua for you to try. Remember, this file goes in: \Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Scripts materials.lua

The 3080 doesn't seem like it's much of an upgrade over the 2080ti at 4k. https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-synthetic-and-gaming-performance-leaked 19% for the 3080 over the 2080ti at 4k in rasterization/DX11 (Far Cry New Dawn) 18% with DX12/DLSS/4k (Shadow of the Tomb Raider) We'll see what things look like for the 3090 in a week and a half but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Windows protects files in Program Files so users or applications running in user mode cannot change them. Open notepad in administrative mode and you can edit the file. If you save the file to another location, and copy that file to the location in program files, it should prompt you to overwrite the file with administrative permissions.

Navigate to \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Scripts Edit materials.lua Go to line 24 Replace materials["HUD"] = {2, 255, 20, 385} With materials["HUD"] = {255, 255, 0, 385}
