  1. You know it's funny, it's entirely dependent on the mission for me. Playing MP with varied assets and I struggle to get 40 fps. Loading up the F-18C caucasus cold start, or the F-15C persian gulf cold start in single player and I can get 60-75 fps. With an HP Reverb at 130% and MSAA 2x. I'm sure it's a complicated issue, but some combination of mission asset or unit path finding or I don't even know what is taking critical resources away from the rendering pipeline. It feels like version of the DCS engine has hit critical mass, more than ever it seems like priority should be leverage the additional cores of modern CPUs to handle scripting, physics, and AI.
  2. I really like my TPRs, upgraded with a hydraulic damper and stronger springs of course. At the time they were only $450 though.
  3. Even the new extra heavy springs? I mean they recommend the T-50CM2 for use with extensions but I know people using the warbrd with shorter ones without problems.
  4. Hornet grip actually sticks out a little less but is a little wider across the top and a little taller.
  5. What about a displayport splitter? https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-DisplayPort-Featuring-Resolution/dp/B07T8BPZG2
  6. That's funny, I exploded in an F/A-18C and switched to the Gazelle and the damage vibration didn't stop. But I didn't take damage in the Gazelle. Very strange bug. I was wondering what happened. Actually... I get this issue just switching from the F/A-18C to the Gazelle in a mission at all. That's... another problem. Hm... Even restarting simshaker didn't fix it, it's probably some sort of export bug with DCS?
  7. Thanks for the link and the passive aggression. The former would have been enough.
  8. A lot of us would rather not play at all then play outside of VR. That said, I was able to get the game to consistently load my GPU to 100%. However, only on the persian gulf map while playing offline/solo. So whatever it is that's consuming all of our CPU, whether it be AWACS units or the caucuses map, I'm only experiencing it in multiplayer.
  9. Were you ever able to duplicate my F-14 flaps bug? Just curious if there was a fix coming. In the meantime I have a script that forcefully kills the system tray resident simshaker for aviators process after I close DCS, which is the only thing that fixes it for me.
  10. >Improvements to pilot stick travel animation It doesn't appear that this fixed the flight stick being too far forward in the default position and obscuring most of the HSD, so what did this change exactly?
  11. I think the problem is, most of us with very high end equipment are not seeing the benefit of that equipment because the CPU cannot feed the GPU quickly enough. Something in the engine is consuming an inordinate amount of CPU cycles in 2.5.6 and with the graphics engine being stuck in the land of single thread rendering, and that same core busy with AI simulation and physics and everything else going on in the game, we're running into a serious bottleneck that even the fastest processors are unable to push through. With an i7-8700k @ 5GHz, 32GB of DDR4 3200 C14, and a 2080ti I would expect to be able to see north of 50 fps in VR. But there is literally no setting in the game that I can modify to make that happen. I can make things a bit worse by dialing everything up to 11 but at no point is the GPU getting taxed, it seems like I'm just burdening the CPU with even more work that it doesn't have the time to deal with. The one thing that does seem to help is altitude. At 40,000 feet, I can hit 60 fps pretty easily. Get down to the deck and I'm in the mid 30s.
  12. Who's looking at Task manager? FPS VR is showing sever under utilization of resources overall. Rivatuner shows the same thing. GPU significantly under loaded, no single CPU core being maxed out.
  13. Quite possibly, if we're being CPU draw call limited. But it's going to be an age and a half until they rewrite the engine, so focus has to be made to improve the current engine before we start looking at vulkan to be our lord and savior. What I'm seeing in heavily populated multiplayer servers, when I'm getting abysmal framerates (we're talking 10-20 fps on a 2080ti) is that the CPU isn't doing much (loaded to about 40%) and the GPU is doing about the same (40-50% load). It's really confusing, one or the other should be going nuts and neither seems to be.
  14. It's not windows 10. It's 2.5.6. Everyone is having the same performance issue. Wait for the patch tomorrow and hope it's fixed.
  15. NBD. Do you know if the VR performance issues we've been experiencing in 2.5.6 have been resolved?
  16. Use a coin (penny works) and just unscrew them. The screw is accessible on the inside of the headband. They connect via two contacts, there's no wiring.
  17. When it's bugged out, it doesn't show it in WindowsMR. You can see it on the DCS menu screen by hitting ctrl+pause, as you'll be limited to 60 fps. You should also just sort of be able to tell by looking through the headset, as it's pretty easy to see the screen refreshing.
  18. It's not steamvr, it's windows mr bugging out. Disable the reverb in device manager and reenable it.
  19. This ain't my first rodeo mate. I've even played around with a 2080ti and I'm not seeing ANY significant difference over a 1080ti. There's something inherently wrong with 2.5.6 particularly with multiplayer in VR causing the GPU to be significantly under utilized (50 to 70% max).
  20. I don't see how a memory leak could contribute to the GPU being loaded to only 50% and yet being stuck at 20 FPS in VR but what do I know, I'm not a game developer.
  21. Guys, video settings and shaders aren't going to do much if anything for you, the problem is the GPU just isn't doing much. The CPU must just be getting destroyed by something and is unable to feed the GPU. I've been playing around with a 2080ti and with 150% target render scale I'm getting into as low as 20 fps and the GPU at 40-50% utilization.
