  1. I'll believe it when people start posting that they got their pre-orders.
  2. Gotta install the beta. http://dsteam.azurewebsites.net/SSA/beta/publish.htm I'm still having an issue with the flaps/wing fold sounds in the F/A-18C/F-14B respectively getting mangled after flying AV-8B/NA. Issue clears itself on restart of simshaker.
  3. Shove the slack up in front of the PCB, there's room the body is plenty tall. Don't let it get anywhere near the bottom or one of the side gimbals or it'll get mangled, sever the internal wires, and you'll have to hack together a splice and cover it with gorilla tape oh god what have I done. (I literally did this to mine yesterday, it's being held together with twist splices and tape. Don't be me.) But seriously just shove the slack up in the front, the "seal" is a stress relief to keep the cable from being damaged by movement so you want to make sure it's located properly.
  4. Sidewinder growl/tone is being sent to in-cockpit audio and not helmet, causing the sound to go to speakers/external in a multi audio output setup. Reproducible by getting a sidewinder lock, going into active pause, open audio settings and setting in-cockpit sound to 0% and going back to the game. You will no longer hear the sidewinder tone.
  5. Well I went and recreated it with the current Stennis. It seems to be a couple feet too narrow? Planes still make it but the wings should have probably collided. It will be interesting to see what it's like with the supercarrier.
  6. The Stennis doesn't look anywhere near this roomy.
  7. 100% in steam, 1.0 PD in DCS, 2x MSAA (MFAA enabled in nvidia control panel). Jaggies are acceptable, performance is OK most of the time with a 1080ti.
  8. You're not wrong, you need to have the INS aligned. Put the INS into IFA until you see the map loaded and then switch it over to NAV.
  9. Mine is doing this as well. Not 100% of the time but it will hang on load. Alt-tabbing during loading makes it happen 100% of the time.
  10. With two audio outs and headphones configured for helmet audio, I'm hearing the sidewinder tone through the speakers and not my headphones.
  11. Because when I have headphones set to helmet the tone is playing through my speakers. At least for the F-18 and F-14. I would think that would be something the pilot hears in his headphones. Other weapons/moduel sounds I should be hearing in my headset, and I'm not: Sidearm / AV-8B Sidewinder / AV-8B Sidewinder / F-16 And I presume every other module utilizing the sidewinder or sidearm. I don't know if this is a systemic DCS issue or a specific issue with these modules but I'm reporting it here first.
  12. It's just not finished yet as the aircraft is in early access. Heatblur is working on it and planning on adding hit skip bolters as well as hook damage. On speed AoA will be required to successfully trap in the F-14 once that's done. Until then, it's more forgiving to land the '14 on the deck than it is the '18.
  13. If you can't run one internally just buy a cheap external USB audio device. It doesn't have to have amazing fidelity.

    JDAM vs. LGBs

JDAMs can't deal with moving targets.
  15. I'm going to try swapping in some 1-1/2" extension springs from the hardware store. Should work and keep some additional tension on them at the center point. https://www.primeline.net/sp-9602-ext-spring-716x-1-12x-047-steel-single-loop-closed This should have a bit more force but may not have enough deflection, but for $4 I'm willing to give it a shot. This one is basically the same as the stock spring. https://www.primeline.net/sp-9605-
  16. I've seen comments from people saying the scale of the current Stennis model is off (too small). I was just wondering how much more deck space we were looking at getting in the supercarrier? Given how many parking/spawn points that are planned it seems like it's quite a bit larger. Or is that area just being better utilized thanks to AI handling a lot of the taxi duties?
  17. I doubt it's a lie but it IS gross negligence/incompetence. My guess is the product will eventually start showing up. At least I hope it does for all of you that purchased one.
  18. Turn MSAA on 2x. Enable MFAA in the Nvidia control panel. You can leave it off but you'll have shimmering.
  19. Can't say for sure but your best bet is to take a spring off and head to the hardware store and look at their extension springs to try to find something that will work.
  20. I think it being WIP means that it's WIP. As in not final. As in subject to change. As in no reason to get our panties in a bunch when it's not even available to download yet. That's all. Calling it awful is pretty inflammatory and not really constructive.
  21. Looks WIP to me, I wouldn't get too worked up about it.
  22. Right, that's what he said. Rotate before pulling. Left click the handle first, then mouse wheel to pull it out. The orientation of the text on the wheel indicates which position you have it in (either PARK or EMERG) once extended.
  23. They never flew the F-14B. F-14A squadron liveries will come with the A model.
