Generic African map. (yes I know Africa is a continent)

If they select a region that covers both the woods and the desert it would be good for many ops (some real some fictional) -
Hi guys, as we don't have (and who knows if we will have) a map for central Africa for those cool cold war era battles (see Ogaden War, Western Sahara, Border war and other less known wars there) I usually use the Syria Map for that but the runways and general airport layout looks too modern (relatively modern as they are old anyway but too good for poor, old african ones). Is there anyone interested in creating old rusty hangars, old airport buildings, runway and taxiways reflecting the real status with bad asphalt conditions, uneven edges with sand poor markings etc.? In this way, with triggers, we may remove the standard objects and replace/position others more suitable for that area and era

That would be a really cool add to DCS, considering the upcoming MiG-17 and the future MiG-21 v2 update. African wars are interesting, requiring less effort to edit them in the ME as less technology was involved. Having bad maintained runways, that slightly orange sand on the edges, basic and rusty hangars would make the atmosphere very immersive. I hope ED or a third party will consider this. -
Yep, but the one we have is the least seen around. I would like to have the one in picture, still waiting to find someone able to do it unfortunately

It's aestethic but I'm not asking the devs, I'm asking if someone here is able to or knows someone who can do it. (I already placed a request on the Skinners Discord, no one replied). That's why I posted here and not under Bugs / problems. "We" means that me and other friends need it cause we are going to fly several cold war missions with the 21 in the upcoming months.

I tried all the cockpit skins around including those one. They are either too clean or the color is not the correct one or too bright. We need a weathered cockpit (not new) but with the color as per picture posted.

Ok but this can be edited "easily" by those skilled in skin works. Other systems, FM etc. are up to the dev team.

Hi guys, I'm wondering if someone is able to edit the cockpit color to a more suitable and realistic one. There are some options on ED site but they don't look good (too clean, wrong color, flat details etc.). Is anyone able to edit it? I'm looking for something like this but keeping some weathering on: Thanks for your help!

Hi guys, In the latest patch (not the hot fix one) internal cargo has been included for the Mi-8 and the Huey. How does it work? It seems that the changelog has been changed after its publication...the sentence I took a screenshot of has been removed...

Hi everyone, for those working on terrain textures, do you think it might be possible to produce Africa-like textures for existing maps (like Syria)? The idea is to have a good recreation of the Central Africa area (Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, Angola etc.), especially in the 70s. I don't have any skill for this, just wondering if it might be a doable project for those involved in terrain textures editing.

I would use it even if it breaks the IC as public servers are not attractive. There are tons of casual and milsim groups with own servers that are usually set to allow mods. Even if it breaks the IC, if the result will be a much nicer cockpit, it might be considered to be implemented as the standard one by ED. Go for it! -
Hi rotary pilots! Is there any plan to get the Mi-8 a level up in terms of texture and new features? It has one of the best (if not the best) helicopter FM out there but it's now aging a bit compared to new ones and it might be appropriate to have what it deserves. It still rocks but I think it should be upgraded considering what we are getting in terms of quality at the moment (see Apache and Kiowa).

First of all, congratulations, it's a very good news and a deserved award for your hard work! I have a question that, I guess, some are going to ask so here it is: I have a mission planned for the 22nd with many static objects of your Mod. Is it going to work if I keep the mod installed after the next DCS update to make the mission run and/or avoid to place all the objects again? I guess they will have different names so having the mod active should probably create doubles but I want to be sure it will not mess up an existing mission- 548 replies

fixed Go To Waypoint command not working

Actually it works without increasing the distance (as it used to do before couple of updates ago)...the only thing to do is to add another "go to waypoint" on the first waypoint of the loop (the one "receiving" the vehicle after the loop). So distance is not an issue, as per other tests, where it stopped even with a great distance from waypoints. -

I mean statics too, maybe provided in different numbers like: 1 single person, 10 people, 50 people etc. not necessary animated and not by default as per the DCS traffic but rather placed by the editor as per other objects/troops.
