  1. Ok tested a F16 freeflight an 4xmsaa is still Eating up FPS. Seems that something else is FPS costly on the supercarrier
  2. It is interesting that I get nearly the same frames in VR with 4x mssa and 2x msaa. Seems that 4x msaa requires less performance than before. But it looks way better. Perhaps the new VR mask helps to make 4x mssa usable in VR. With both I get low 30s in the coldstart mission. But only when I look to the tower. When I look in the cockpit I get my 45 FPS most of the time with my reverb. ED it seems you move in the right direction!

  5. I agree: Performance is really poor :cry: Down to 30 FPS with my rig. At the Moment you can put a fictional RTX6080TI in your rig and you will still have poor FPS. There must be a big Problem in the Code. Top notch Hardware can't iron out a bugged Code! Still a lot of work to do for ED I guess
  6. I really hope this will happen and not end as the +50% VR boost one year ago. But I still hope the best. Thanks for the update Bignewy But please don't touch the stable until this is fixed. Thanks!
  7. Tested an instant Mission with a lot of AI in it. Got only 25-30 FPS. Unfortunately same low FPS in VR. So lukasz7 your Workaround maybe is a part of the solution, but unfortunately it does not fix the bad Overall Performance in the OB 2.5.6
  8. Lukasz7 you are Incredible! Really increased performance in the OB massive! The chaff / flare bars seem to have more FPS Impact in the OB than in the stable! You did a great Job! Will test a more, but I think ED should offer you a Job :)

ED / Bignewy please take a look on the post from lukasz7 here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4326414#post4326414 The edited lua file improved performance in some parts oft the OB 2.5.6 massively!!!! But same low FPS in instant missions with a lot of AI 25-30 FPS in VR with HP Reverb. So maybe the SA is part of the solution but not the whole Problem!
  10. 4,5 bis 4,8 ghz sollten mit einem guten Luftkühler gehen. 3200er Ram schadet auch nicht.
  11. Ich würde dir empfehlen den 6700k auf allen Kernen versuchen zu übertakten so hoch du kommst. DCS ist recht cpu lastig und profitiert von hohem Takt.
  12. 45 reichen mir ja eh auch ;) Magst mal nen Screenshot von deinen ingame settings posten? 1.7 PD kommt mir sehr hoch vor. Ist das ingame oder unter steam vr? Wieveil Prozent liegen da unter steam vr ss an?
  13. Nutzen ja, aber mit welchen Settings und Einschränkungen?!? Schau dir mein System in der Signatur an, bin begeistert von der Reverb, muss allerdings auch bei den Settings Kompromisse eingehen z.b. alle Schatten flat usw. Fahre die Reverb mit PD 1.0 heißt in der nativen Auflösung und komme und kann die 45 FPS gut halten (ASW ist an). Ohne ASW komme ich in einer freeflight Mission auf 60-70 FPS je nachdem ob die Spiegel aktiviert sind oder nicht; die sind extrem Resourcen hungrig. Wobei bei mir meist die CPU (4,8 GHZ 7700k) limitiert. Die GPU kommt so gut wie nie auf 100% Auslastung. Ich würde gefühlsmäßig mal eine 2080s als die GPU bezeichnen mit der du mit der Reverb vernünftig starten kannst. Mit meiner Rift S gings noch mit meiner alten GTX 1080, aber da wirst du bei der Reverb massive Einschränkungen hinnehmen müssen. Und in der open Beta ist die Performance momentan sowieso absolut unbrauchbar seit mittlerweile 3 Monaten. Bei Fragen, fragen ;)
  14. Oh come on ED....... please fix this ASAP! With this framerates in VR you don't even think about releasing the Supercarrier! We can't use it anyways with 20 FPS. 2 months since 2.5.6 and you did not iron it out! I think it will take a long time to get 2.5.6 to the stable with good FPS!!!!!!!!

  18. Does your stick have play if you only move it slightly? For example grab it with 2 fingers and try to move it. If it has too much Play 1-2 cm one screw in the inside is loose. You have to unmount the metal base and the silver top cover and carefully retighten the 4 bolts inside. I had the same; after retightening the bolts everthing was ok.   19. I have both branches installed. Currently only the stable is able to give me the FPS I Need for VR. Sure I want the OB fixed cause I've purchased the SUPERCARRIER :smilewink:
  20. Hi BIGNEWY! Please try to understand the VR community: Since 2.5.6 the OB is simply unplayable - since 5 weeks! To fix this should have TOP priority. In the mean time I fly on the stable branch, that is ok. But how long will the stable be playable?!? This is what every VR Pilot here fears: that the stable goes 2.5.6 It's cool that there are Special offers, but to be honest: I am not willed to spend a single penny, as long as the problem is not fixed! I don't want to be unpolite, but I only fear, that if you roll out 2.5.6 on stable DCS is not playable for me anymore; so I don't want to waste my money! And my hardware is not the best, but also not the worst! It simply can't be a deal: Nice lightening vs. really bad FPS So please: If you can not fix the FPS ASAP, remove the lightening and put your efforts in finishing the modules! I think most of the users can live without the nice lights!!!!!!!
  21. I know I know DCS and low FPS in VR is the samllest Problem the world has at the Moment because of covid19. But c'mon more than one month since the release of 2.5.6 and the FPS are still catastrophic low….. As someone said: ED can implement new things as much as they like, but the whole 2.5.6 is unplayable! PLEASE FIX THE VR FPS ISSUE FIRST, then make other updates! The Thing is unplayable!
  22. Just tested again a Taskforce Challenger Mission: 2.5.5: GPU usage 55 - 60 % 2.5.6: GPU usage low 30's % For some reason 2.5.6 does not use the whole GPU power! CPU cores where nearly the same Settings are equal!
  23. I think there are multiple problems with 2.5.6. The interesting Thing is, that some missions or campaigns seem to be more affected than others. E.g.: The arab spring campaign is playable in 2.5.5 but also has a bad GPU usage (50 -70 %) same for the Taskforce Challenger Campaign! In 2.5.6 these campaigns are unplayable / low 20's FPS. Other campaigns are nearly as good as in 2.5.5 e.g.: Eastern Friendship framrates are nearly as good as in 2.5.5 Also the Flaming cliffs free flight missions have good FPS in 2.5.6 At the moment I think there is a "dual Performance loss" in 2.5.6 1) Slight loss through the new lightening 2) Massive loss through AI problems / high CPU low GPU usage. It does not matter if you have a 2080ti or a 1080 because the GPU usage is in the low 50's / the GPU is not maxed out. And there I think this is because with 2.5.6 the game has maxed out the CPU so that the GPU can not be maxed out
  24. BIGNEWY don't get me wrong, but at the moment 2.5.6 is a complete catastrophe in VR. The latest release did not regain any FPS and is also very instable and crashes very often
  25. ED should not even think about bringing OB 2.5.6 to the stable release. Since 2.5.6 there are problems after problems. The latest release crashes randomly. Did a repair and deleted the shaders. FPS are still soooooo poor! Starting to get tired of this……. 2.5.6 messed the whole game up!
