Thanks for the information DeadMeat. I have been going back and forth on this, and I think I probably am going to go ahead and put the OTTO unit in. It's still the cheapest option vs buying a new stick, and it sounds like if you want a really nice stick this is kind of the inevitable path (I can just do piece by piece as they break down). I am an engineer with about 20 years of experience in prototype fabrication (machining, soldering, etc.) so the modification part doesn't scare me. I already modified the base to try and improve the stiction so warranty isn't an option. I saw they have this unit on Mouser: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/603/TK-Mini-Trim_Catalog_Page-1769763.pdf That's the cheapest 5 way I could find, I guess I will have to crack open the stick and make sure it's going to fit since it's bigger than the one you used.

My CMS switch is on it's way down the drain on my warthog stick... The OTTO replacement costs $85, that kind of money I would rather put towards a new stick! Are the VIRPIL or VKB switches any better than Thrustmaster?

I think for people that have already spent hundreds of dollars on modules that still have bugs like this, I don't think that would be very well received, unless you were to add some other data analysis features similar to TacView or the like. That said, I do think there is a substantial portion of the user base that would be willing to pay for it based on the threads I have already read on other parts of the forum. Also, this is something that has existed for over 20 years in other platforms, so I would expect that the methodology of how to do it is reasonably well understood and shouldn't be a GIANT undertaking (I understand that DCS is probably one of the most complex simulators, but only a small portion of the data needs to be recorded). The logical (to me) small step would just be to implement the server track system which ED already has!

This is fairly disappointing to hear, I think if you were to poll the user base you would find that this means a lot to many users. There are many threads with this same title, just buried in other areas (especially Heatblurs F-14 Bugs). This is a feature that most users expect, and is present in pretty much every other sim. People in other parts of the forum talk about how they are spending exorbitant amounts of money to buy hardware so that they can see the beautiful realistic graphics, if not for replay then for what? This is what sells the game, people see a sexy video of a new module and they are excited to buy it. Personally, I like the ability to review my flight (especially the landing) so that I can see details external to the cockpit and improve. I recently bought the F-14, the most expensive module available, and I can't get a single replay that lasts more than a few seconds (the plane doesn't even make it to the end of the runway on takeoff). I could understand if this was just an early access problem that would be fixed with full release in some months, this has been going on for years. How can we elevate this?

This is definitely a DCS issue, not module specific. If you have enough things going on, it will lose track. Since the supercarrier, if you have more than a handful of planes operating, my F-18 will drive off the end of the deck and crash instead of lining up for the catapult. In missions with the Harrier, I can usually take off, then refuel 400 meters away from the tanker and crash. With the mirage, I have about the same luck as the F-14, barely make it off the ground. FC-3 seems to fair better, but those are low fidelity models. The architecture of the replay system is probably the same as the Flaming Cliffs days, and what worked then doesn't now. You aren't wrong to say this should be fixed, but you need to tell the people who can fix it, not a 3rd party dev.

Question for you guys: Is this mod not compatible with 2.5.6? When I add the comments to the "tip" section of the F5E.lua and go try and setup a mission the F5 disappears from the aircraft list completely. I can attach a copy of my edited lua file, not sure if that is against the rules...

My custom mod music still works. I am using Civil Aircraft Mod. You can download free and place your music there? Make sure you are using saved games directory...

I want to replace the gun sound (in the cockpit) for the SU-25 and for the AV8-B. Does anyone know the path? It's not in the file list in the documentation folder. Thanks!

@f4l0: I have noticed that everytime a mission starts, there are several events in the first few seconds (i am guessing this is all the systems initializing states) Is it possible to suppress sound output for the first 10 seconds? Is there an easy way to turn this on? Thanks! -
Love the nose art, hope to see more!

OK! I replaced the speed brake and gear turbulence sound with the high RPM engine sound, and the effect is perfect! Not sure why, but this feels very natural with my setup. Very happy! Wow! This is such an amazing mod. Probably the most fun thing I have done so far with DCS once it is all dialed in. Thanks for your help!

Should be C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\FA-18 You answered your own question with A-10C... Its that simple :) Took me a while too and I was really frustrated, but it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks C0ff for all your help! The community really appreciate you!

I can't seem to get any of my sound mods to work (Harrier sounds, planecannon, Hornet cannon, Tanker speech). Do mods only work in OB now? I am pretty sure the directories are correct based on the previous few pages of this thread

I just got this working, and I have to say it put a big smile on my face :) I have all the sound levels dialed in so that they feel right with my setup, but I noticed that even with 100 percent on speed brake I don't get any feedback. I have tried flying SU-25, SU-25T, and FA-18 with no success. Anything I can try to fix it? Thanks!

I just purchased the sound module but didn't receive a license key. Do you need to find it on their website after you complete the transaction? EDIT: It takes up to 36 hours, per the website :) -
There is a bug where wheel brakes don't work with hot start on Tarawa :)

I think you need to approach from the correct side of the target. Depending on how this is simulated, which I don't know, but in real life: The laser is projected onto the target from a certain direction, then the laser light is reflected off into a dispersion cone. If you are not looking at the target within this cone of reflected energy, you won't see the spot. In a practical sense: think about being on the south side of a building and someone shines a laser on the north side. You won't see it.
